The campfire churns and crackles. As I stare at it, I remember something that stirs in my mind. I haven't forgotten that island, Nox if I remember correctly. The images I saw, the...memories.
Nothing about any of it was right, and though I try to forget, staring into the campfire as we sit in the middle of a forest at night, all but recalls every detail of that island...the memories.
Shaking the thought off, I pull on my coat, the nights of recent have been quite cold. Or perhaps, I've become that much less tolerable to the cold because I'm pregnant. Whatever the reason, it doesn't make me happy.
The night is a wolf's best friend, not its nuisance.
Lifting my gaze, I peer at Kysilius who sits at the opposite end of the campfire likewise watching it as I do. Yet his mind is anywhere but where he is looking.
Maybe he's worried to death as I am for the reconnaissance he sent out. A wolf, with the Instinct to take other forms that was not limited to a wolf and human.
