Night falls and Caroline is still asleep. I wanted to stay by her side, but Celine has all but banned me from entering ever since she got me out to eat something. Though I had been restless, Iris' watchful eye kept me sane.
In the meantime, I've been practicing the Instincts Celine insists I copy. So far, I've managed the one that lets me make illusions of myself, and the one that allows me to phase through anything. Beyond those, progress has been frustratingly slow.
At the very least, I've managed to get a good enough grasp of the two Instincts, how they feel. As for the rest, I haven't been so fortunate in those areas.
Standing on the balcony overlooking the city, the cold bites into my skin, causing me to rub my arms more times than I can count. Still, I refuse to go inside and get warmth.
Something about staying here gives me a shred of the freedom I have been craving so desperately as of recent.
