Chapter 6106 - Chapter 5120: The Fighter's Fate (66)

Fortunately, Little Superman's suit wasn't damaged, and the biting cabbage didn't manage to hurt him either. It just startled him and knocked the delicious cookies he had sneaked out onto the floor, rendering them inedible.

However, seeing him being attacked, Natasha thought he was the victim and quickly rushed over to comfort him, giving him a pile of cookies along with the donuts she had prepared earlier, which satisfied him as he left.

Little Superman was squatting under the porch eating donuts when he soon encountered Greed. He said smugly, "See, what did I say? These writers are just like that. Once the plot doesn't develop the way they imagine, they start doing this absurd storyline..."

"How do you know it's them?"

Little Superman said doubtfully, "Who else besides the writers could come up with such a ridiculous plot of vegetables suddenly jumping up to attack people?"

Greed chuckled without saying a word. Little Superman slightly widened his eyes, "It couldn't be you, could it? ... No way?"

"Have you heard this saying?" Greed took a donut from the box Little Superman was holding, "Walk the path of fate, leaving fate with no path to walk."

When he finished, Greed was about to pass through the porch, but Little Superman grabbed him, "Hold on a second, don't just switch scenes now, clarify it clearly!"

Greed paused obediently, turned around, leaned on a post of the porch, and took a bite of the donut, chewing while saying, "Since it's known that fate is already running out of tricks and preparing to cause some absurd incident at the wedding for a final struggle, defenses are surely unpreventable."

"After all, the wedding venue is too big, and there are too many eyes around. Just controlling someone to do something stupid can easily lead to chaos. Given that, it's better to create some unexpected events first, fill the schedule, so fate has no chance."

"...What?" Little Superman seemed a bit incredulous, "Are you saying that to prevent fate from causing trouble, you're causing trouble yourself first?"

Greed nodded and said, "I swapped the crate meant for regular purple cabbage with one similar to biting cabbage, maybe some unlucky guy who offended fate will mix them up."

Little Superman covered his eyes. He was just about to say something when he heard Greed say, "Oh, right, the lock on the cold storage door also has a problem. You need to manually turn the knob to lock it completely; just closing it might not..."

"Oh, God! Why is it here too?!"

"Where the hell did it come from?! Where's my gun?! Where's my gun?!"

"The cold storage! The cold storage has been breached! All those damn little punks have escaped. Quick, get the guns!!!"

The commotion in the kitchen had already reached near the porch. Little Superman didn't even have to get close to see from under the porch that the cabbages and purple cabbages which jumped higher than the eaves were echoing with the muffled sounds of silenced pistols. In the end, Superman had to fly over to maintain order, with several Supermen flying in the sky, laser beams passing by, scattering leaves everywhere.

Little Superman, with a donut in his mouth, couldn't help but give Greed a thumbs up. But he was actually a bit confused; the writers hold the pen, of course, they can draw whatever they want. It's not surprising for the scene to suddenly turn into a comedy manga, but how did Greed do it?

He lives in a comic; such absurd things cannot materialize out of thin air. Did he really go into farming and specially grew a batch of attacking vegetables?

Just imagining Shiller huffing and puffing in the fields for days to grow these absurd vegetables to wreck havoc at a wedding made Little Superman even more impressed. With such perseverance, you could succeed in anything.

"So, can you eat these vegetables?" Little Superman asked.

"This batch probably not," Greed thought for a moment and said, "After all, they've been injected with the Extremis Virus, eating them might not be safe. But the previous batch which only used Plant Magic is fine; they would even taste more al dente."

With the Extremis Virus and Plant Magic again, Little Superman couldn't help but silently scoff. It seems Shiller didn't just farm; he seems like the kind who would travel around the cosmos gathering all kinds of powers just to grow some attacking vegetables.

This has a Don Quixote-like humor, Little Superman thought. The author of the book easily uses a few lines to set Don Quixote charging at windmills, while in the book, Don Quixote really sees the windmills as giants, summons his courage, and fights to the death.

Most of this absurd storyline comes from lightly sketched absurdities by the writers, utterly unreasonable, extremely ridiculous, but Shiller insists on using a slew of schemes in the real world to achieve the same ridiculous effect, like a satirical joke.

But whether it's the writers or the clueless characters in the story, no one can fully comprehend this joke. Only someone like himself, who knows the comic story and has crossed into the comic to experience it firsthand, can understand this black humor, like a joke written specifically for himself.

Little Superman burst into laughter, even attracting frequent glances from people nearby. They didn't understand what he was laughing at; perhaps some thought he was crazy.

Only he knew the joke was really funny; he couldn't stop laughing, even to the point of tears. After a while, he wiped the corner of his eye, then said, "Thank you, this is the happiest moment since I got out."

"As long as you're happy." Greed said with a smile.

But actually, Little Superman had a bit of a misunderstanding about the gazes around him. When people saw him standing next to Greed, smiling like that, their looks weren't of doubt or disdain, but rather a "another madman" kind of natural acceptance.

Little Superman stuffed the last donut into his mouth, planning to head to the kitchen for some snacks and ask Shiller how he managed to grow these strange plants. Suddenly, there was a commotion coming from the auditorium.

"Don't go there, don't come here!" someone shouted, "Don't look that way, an Evil God has descended!!!"

Little Superman paused his chewing, puffing his cheeks and looking at Greed, his eyes conveying, "Is this your doing again?"

"Not this time," Greed replied. "It might just be a coincidence."

"Not?" Little Superman immediately became worried. "Then do you have any countermeasures? What the hell is an Evil God?"

Before he could finish speaking, the previously sunny sky suddenly turned ink-colored. A shadow descended above the spire of the auditorium. The originally bright Supreme Magician's robe was stained, the tattered cape turned deep red, and a pale face was covered in dark lines, eyes closed tight, but a blood-red eye appeared in the middle of his forehead.

"Steven?!" Captain America exclaimed in disbelief, "Weren't you injured? How is this..."

Suddenly, an invisible wave swept over the entire chapel. Captain America let out a cry, half-kneeling and covering his eyes. Natasha shouted, "Don't look at him, don't look at that eye!!!"

Doctor Strange's figure vanished, then reappeared in an instant in the crowded auditorium. Many people, unguarded, screamed and fell the moment they were hit by the psyshock. Meanwhile, Iron Man and Batman rushed out hurriedly.

"Why did the ritual activate early?!" Iron Man roared, "Weren't we supposed to wait for God to descend before..."

Batman also had a somber expression. He raised his hand, wanting to summon tentacles to pull Doctor Strange down. But just then, a faint light appeared on the Cross behind Doctor Strange.

Jesus, nailed on the Cross, suddenly lifted his eyes. His gaze was substantial, the Holy Light bursting out directly hit Doctor Strange down. Then Jesus moved his wrist, flew away from the Cross, spread his white wings, and, with a gentle grasp in the void, a Holy Sword appeared in his hand.

He raised the Holy Sword before him. The Holy Light pierced the sky's darkness, and a massive column of light descended, instantly clearing all contamination. Bathing in the Holy Light, Doctor Strange also let out a scream.

The Holy Light dispersed, and Bruce, holding the sword, floated mid-air, somewhat helplessly saying, "This plan of pretending to be Jesus actually worked."

Iron Man rushed forward to check Doctor Strange's status, followed shortly by Batman. As soon as he touched Doctor Strange, he looked up and said, "The contamination on him has been dispelled."

Iron Man glanced back at Bruce. Although he didn't know why he had to stay on the Cross pretending to be Jesus, or where the wings and Holy Light Power came from, it was good he was here, or the trouble would be enormous.

The agents rushed in, helping the disoriented guests and putting the still-unconscious Doctor Strange onto the ambulance.

Natasha marched over angrily. Iron Man quickly stepped back, raising his hands, and said, "Calm down, ma'am, I didn't mean it..."

Natasha truly wanted to shoot the White Can dead, but she also knew now wasn't the time to judge him. She grabbed Iron Man and asked, "What exactly are you doing?"

"I want to bring Doctor Strange back," Iron Man said. "That Evil Iron Man said he was trapped in some Eye Demon's channel. That Eye Demon was his former enemy; I want to summon him back."

"Then why do it here?!" Natasha was utterly baffled.

"You want to summon God, right?" Iron Man clearly had some understanding, "You made this incredibly chaotic wedding to summon God; it's a ritual, I figured it out..."

"Steven can't come back not because he doesn't want to, but because he might be contaminated. If he comes back, he might infect more people, so to cleanse the contamination on him, we need a higher level of power. That's why I thought of summoning him back when God descends, to remove the contamination on him..."

Natasha slapped her forehead. She didn't even know how to evaluate this plan, could only think—truly worthy of you, Evil Iron Man, bad intentions can't accomplish good deeds, and good intentions only mess things up.

"But... what's going on with that thing?" Iron Man pointed back at the Cross. Bruce had turned back into Jesus, hanging there. "Never heard of God being a bat."

Natasha also glanced at the Cross, opened her mouth. She didn't know what to say either way—it's either Batman's plan, Shiller's plan, or both of theirs together.

Letting Batman hang on the Cross pretending to be Jesus, acting as a tower of defense, this plan can't merely be described as astonishing, but what's more ridiculous is that it actually worked.

Considering the audacity of this idea, Natasha preferred to believe it was Shiller's thought, because if Batman was mad to this extent, she would really fear him turning into the Joker.
