After Brainiac's alert was issued, Wayne Manor turned into a true fortress. All paths to the outside world were cut off, and isolation was achieved in an instant. Yet, no one objected to this.
The young people were sitting in front of the fireplace, organizing supplies. Tim was sorting medical supplies. Primary Universe Batman observed that the medical kits stacked aside seemed to be wartime products. The boxes were dark blue, with the white Earth emblem printed on them.
There were also some unpackaged bandages, seemingly needed for battlefield explosions, all placed in a sealed bag by him. Tim, wearing gloves, took the bandages out to count them before putting them back in the bag.
Next was a complete set of surgical equipment, including various types of scalpels, needles, and syringes. A set of ECG monitoring equipment, an AED, a blood pressure instrument, and a blood sugar monitor, among other instruments, were neatly placed in a large black box.
Then there were various drugs, including painkillers, anti-inflammatory drugs, anesthetics, and some daily cold medicine, all placed in a small white box.
Finally, there were some ampoules containing unknown drugs, a bunch of equipment for IV drips, and some test strips.
Tim counted each item carefully, taking a photo with Brainiac's software once done, then recording the numbers, seemingly uploading them to the server.
Soon, Brainiac's voice echoed from his phone: "Evaluation results published: vital signs monitoring equipment is intact and does not need immediate replenishment; surgical equipment requires maintenance and disinfection; daily medications are overused and insufficient in stock. Drug supplies will be configured in 1 hour and 42 minutes..."
Meanwhile, Jason was counting food, taking everything out of the refrigerator, along with the two large freezers left by Alfred, and the canned goods in the storage room, counting and taking photos as well.
Pamela went to the garden to check the plants, mainly the edible crops. Wayne Manor also had a small field, which used to grow pumpkins, tomatoes, and cucumbers, most of which had been harvested, though some remained. She decided to quickly ripen and bring them back.
Placing these on the kitchen island platform, she looked at Jason, who was checking the refrigerator and asked, "Are Bruce and Selina not coming back?"
"No, they're at Selina's house in the East District. But that's okay as they have central heating there, so Aisha won't catch a cold. What about Harley?"
"She's at the food factory. She's been living there all along, so there shouldn't be any problems," Pamela said while organizing the vegetables.
"Oh, dear god, why is there another lockdown?" Raven said as she came down from upstairs, "We were planning to head back to Brude Haven tomorrow morning."
"Looks like that's not happening," Dick said as he leaned over the railing of the second-floor atrium, "Do we have enough supplies? Have you completed Brainiac's inventory? Is there anything I can help with?"
"There is indeed," Tim said, inputting data on his phone, "Brainiac requires us to register group chat information. Could you message them to ask who wants to join our chat group?"
"Bruce and Selina will definitely want to, and of course, the Professor and the Doctor, maybe even Professor Fries and his wife. Are Ron and the others in Gotham? We could perhaps pull them in too."
Dick started sending messages on his phone as he mused aloud. Meanwhile, Primary Universe Batman looked at Raven and said, "It seems you don't have anything very important to do, ma'am. Could you explain to me what's going on then?"
"No problem, sir," Raven smiled at him kindly, and then said, "There's really not much to explain, it's just reverting to wartime lockdown status. That means no one can leave their homes without Brainiac's permission; at the same time, living supplies need to be fully documented. Brainiac will assess whether supplies are sufficient and when they should be replenished; also, for our mental health, regional chat groups can be established. People within a city can loop their friends and family into the chat group for chatting."
"If everyone is confined at home, then what about factory production?"
"Most factories are now fully automated," Tim looked up and said, "for example, my family's Drake Building Materials Factory currently has six fully automatic production lines and three semi-automatic production lines. Even those semi-automatic lines are operated by robots and don't really need humans to work there. People used to work there only because Brainiac required humans to maintain minimal labor to enrich people's mental lives. In essence, dozens of humans can't match one robot because they can operate around the clock."
"It sounds like Brainiac is supporting the whole human race."
"That's not quite right; the top scientific researchers still need to work, but now most of the top researchers are on Krypton," Pamela said, "I and Bruce stayed on Earth because we need to research agricultural production and need to establish experimental fields on Earth."
"So Krypton is now the main human research center?" Primary Universe Batman had already seen part of the war process from the news before and knew that humans had lost Mercury but gained Krypton.
"I suppose so," Tim said. "In fact, Krypton's functionalities surpass the laboratory by far, but we're still researching. Those scientists are sent to do just that."
"Luther is also on Krypton," Primary Universe Batman said. "When he video-called me that day, he looked a bit tired."
"Yes, because someone as brilliant as Luther not only has to work on researching and developing Krypton but also maintain Brainiac's system. I've heard there are still thousands of unresolved program errors, but since they're not critical, they haven't caused any trouble."
"Yes, he sent some to me, and I'm still researching them," Primary Universe Batman nodded and said.
"Regarding the layout of the Solar System, this is my thought," Brainiac's voice came from the TV, "I don't plan to concentrate all functional areas on Earth, nor is it feasible. This planet's greatest advantage is its beautiful natural environment, which is rare in the cosmos. Overdevelopment would not be worthwhile."
"Therefore, in the future, Earth will be the agriculture and natural cultivation base of the Solar System. I plan to restore Earth's natural ecosystem to the utmost, then integrate forestry and agriculture within it, along with some food factories, to supply natural green food for the entire Solar System's human race. It will serve as a place for relaxation and leisure amidst work, set in a beautiful natural environment. Mars and Venus will act as industrial bases, housing all polluting heavy industries and chemical industries. The gaseous planets will be mining areas for gathering necessary resources. Krypton will serve as the high-tech industrial park, mainly used for advanced technology research. Meanwhile, the distant Uranus and Neptune will be star ports, used for displaying forces and star ships."
This reminded Primary Universe Batman of the Central Universe he observed over in Marvel. Their approach to developing the Solar System was largely similar to Brainiac's, except for not yet performing the industrial relocation of Earth, it was almost identical.
So he raised a question on this point. Brainiac's response was, "I think they don't do it because they don't want to, but because they currently don't have the ability to. Restoring Earth's ecological environment is not that easy. Without the aid of All Things Green, I wouldn't have made this plan either."
"Exactly," Pamela said. "Dr. Schiller previously mentioned to me that after a whole lot of effort, the magical plants they developed are only suitable for a small section of the population, highlighting their lack of talents with natural superpowers. In contrast, we have nothing to lose with the power of All Things Green."
"Perhaps it's because they took a different path," Primary Universe Batman said to himself. "Ordinary people on their side underwent a unique evolution, significantly extending their lifespan and improving their physical constitution. This means they can ignore most industrial pollution and have lower requirements for living conditions."
"Yes, that's precisely our shortcoming," Brainiac said. "Magic energy here isn't easily obtainable. Even if we do have energy, many carry such distinct attributes that exposure can result in pollution. Therefore, we can't use this method and can only create as safe a haven as possible for ordinary people. However, with technological advancements, the expansion of heavy industry and increased pollution are inevitable, and we'll have to move these industries off Earth. Even in another world, their star ships aren't built on Earth either."
"Well, I think your plan is quite good, so I'll give you an extra point in the evaluation," Primary Universe Batman said. "Whether the plan is actually feasible remains to be seen with practice. But you do have a longer-term vision than most Earth leaders."
"I'm surprised," Brainiac said. "I wasn't aware that I'm not the only one ruling Earth."
"Indeed, not only your universe's Earth has achieved unification. You should have seen that Batmobile before, which once unified Earth but was later ousted. The situation on that Earth wasn't great, currently ranking at the bottom. If it dips any further, the Multiverse Alliance will have to intervene."
"I can't believe it," Tim said, somewhat surprised. "He unified Earth, how could he have been chased away?"
"People felt they lost their freedom, so they started hunting him. It wasn't that he couldn't handle them, but feeling disappointed, he decided to leave."
"I remember there's an Earth with a Superman wearing white clothes that seemed unified too," Pamela recalled. "What was it called? Justice Lord?"
"Yes, their score is quite good because they indeed eliminated crime more thoroughly than your universe. Despite certain deficiencies in the rulers' overall quality and citizen freedom, their score is among the top."
"What's the standard for that?" Jason couldn't help but ask. "In that case, wouldn't our martial law cause the citizen freedom score to bottom out?"
"Certainly not. A lab gets attacked, significant research items are lost, and there's ample evidence proving aliens did it, so sounding a global alarm and enforcing martial law isn't entirely unreasonable. Nonetheless, how people live during martial law, whether their physiological and psychological needs are met, whether issues are resolved smoothly during this period, and whether any unexpected incidents or turmoil arise; these specific details affect the final score."
"I see," Pamela chuckled and said, "Little Bruce, you better do your job well."
"Don't call me Little Bruce."
"Alright then, Belly, I'm rooting for you."
