May looks up at me, blue eyes wide. "Auntie...I can't. Choose."
She seems to shrink in on herself as she says that, and her bottom lip trembles.
"Can't choose?" I ask calmly. "What is the problem?"
"I can't. Pick. Just. One." She murmurs, her gaze falling to the ground. "I wanna. Buy all. Of it."
Her eyes dart back up to me. She's got tears in them. Her voice is full of emotion. "But. I can't."
"Well, you probably could, but..." I gently pat her head.
This is probably one of the first times she's buying anyone a gift, and now she's trying to buy one for everyone she knows.
It's a lot of pressure, I get that.
"Alright. Let's go back to the inn."
"Wha-!" Her eyes go wide and she quickly shakes her head, "N-No, no nonono I-"
"May." I reach down and scoop up the little fighter. "You're hungry. We're going to eat first, then I'll help you pick gifts. I'll teach you some tricks."
"Tricks?" She tilts her head and blinks at me. "Huh?"
