Chapter 1 - The Unexpected Inheritance

"Master, I'm afraid this young man really is your son."

In a luxurious Gotham office nestled at the top of Wayne Tower, Alfred Pennyworth, the ever-loyal and sharp-witted butler, stood across from a visibly stunned Bruce Wayne.

The gray-haired gentleman had a calm, almost amused expression as he looked between Bruce and the boy seated nearby. Bruce Wayne—billionaire, philanthropist, and secretly the Dark Knight—looked as though someone had pulled the floor out from beneath him.

"Alfred, that's impossible," Bruce said, pacing behind his desk. His voice held none of the calm confidence that Gotham's underworld had come to fear.

Alfred raised a brow. "And yet, Master Wayne, DNA tests don't lie. This young man shares your blood. I took the liberty of confirming it twice."

Jason sat quietly, uncertain whether to be proud or panicked. He looked between the two men, heart pounding. None of this felt real.

Bruce turned to him with a furrowed brow. "This just... doesn't make sense. I'm not Tony Stark, Alfred. I've lived carefully."

"Indeed, you're not Stark," Alfred replied dryly. "But ten years ago was quite a different chapter of your life."

Jason's stomach turned. He hadn't expected this—any of it. Just a week ago, he was a college student struggling to make ends meet. Now? He had woken up in the body of a ten-year-old in a universe where Marvel and DC intertwined. He'd spent years adapting to this world, hiding the fact that he knew things he shouldn't, living as an orphan.

Until his adoptive mother, in her final moments after a tragic accident, handed him a pendant with a message: "Find your real father—Bruce Wayne."

He never imagined that message would lead to this.

As if the shock of meeting Batman wasn't enough, another surprise had landed squarely in his lap the moment he entered Wayne Manor.

"Film and television technology system binding complete."

The voice had echoed in his mind like a digital chime. Jason froze. Bruce assumed the boy was overwhelmed. In truth, he was trying to process what had just happened.

"System analysis underway. Anchoring world... Matching laws of origin..."

"Technology access granted. You may now extract and reproduce technologies from film and television universes familiar to you."

Jason's mind swam as a rush of knowledge downloaded into his consciousness—schematics, code, mechanical theory. At the center of it all stood a glowing icon:

Ultron-level Artificial Intelligence acquired.

He blinked rapidly. He wasn't just in the DC-Marvel fusion world—he was now armed with something even Tony Stark would kill to possess.

Across from him, Bruce's gaze softened.

"Jason, are you alright?"

Jason nodded, though his mind was still unraveling.

"Yeah… just a lot to take in."

"I imagine so," Bruce said. "If there's anything you need—money, schooling, a home—it's yours."

Jason's eyes narrowed slightly. He glanced up at Bruce. "I want a lab."

Bruce blinked. "A... lab?"

"Yes. Full access. A space to work and build."

Bruce smiled, expecting to hear something about gadgets or games, but the resolve in Jason's eyes gave him pause. This wasn't a child asking for toys. There was maturity there, too much for a ten-year-old.

"You're sure?"

"Positive. I need it."

Alfred, reentering the room with a tray of tea, looked between them. "He's got your determination, Master Wayne. Might as well give him the tools to use it."

Bruce pulled out his phone. "Fine. I'll have the estate's secondary research wing cleared and updated immediately. Top of the line. I'll make the call."

Jason exhaled. It had worked.

"Make sure it's the best available outside Wayne Enterprises," Bruce said, eyeing Jason. "You'll have what you need—but you'll also have supervision. We'll do this responsibly."

Jason didn't argue. It was more than he ever hoped for. Not only did he now have a father who was Batman—he had access to resources that could launch a technological revolution.

The Wayne family was a pillar of Gotham, with financial tendrils extending into every industry in the city. To Jason, it was the perfect launchpad. Technology required money—so much money. Equipment, materials, test chambers, AI cores.

And now, he had it all.

In his mind, the system pulsed again.

"Host now eligible for next technology extraction. Would you like to proceed?"

Jason smiled to himself. This world may be chaotic—filled with gods, aliens, and madmen—but now, he had the one thing that might level the playing field: the tools to create miracles.

As he stood and looked out over the skyline of Gotham, his reflection gleamed in the glass, no longer the scared orphan, but a spark of innovation waiting to erupt.

All of it began with one simple phrase:

"I want a lab."

And it would be the beginning of a new legend—one the world would never see coming.
