**Adams:** "Hello, ma'am. Good morning! The client is here, and we need everyone on board for the meeting."
**CEO:** "Okay, thanks. I will be there in a jiffy. Please put everyone on the call."
**Adams:** "I've already done that, and we're all waiting for you."
**CEO:** "Alright, I'll be there shortly."
The secretary served the client tea, a sandwich, juice, and water as a special treat. She and other staff members also served tea, sandwiches, and water to the board members present at the meeting.
The CEO hastily entered the room, saying, "My darlings, please accept my apologies for keeping you waiting. Adams, have you seen my messages, and has everyone been informed?"
All responded, "Yes, ma'am."
She approached the client, Mr. Sharo, and warmly welcomed him with a handshake. Returning to her chair, she set her hands on the ship-shaped boardroom table, which was beautifully designed in a black and white striped pattern resembling zebras. Every seat had connected boundary layer microphones, boxes of tissues were placed at each spot, and breakfast meals were served to everyone. The air conditioning filled the room with a cool breeze, while everyone sat calmly, sipping their tea and enjoying the sandwiches.
A time was designated for breakfast before the meeting commenced, allowing everyone to enjoy their meal.
All the attendees were dressed in various coloured suits adorned with hand chains, bangles, and necklaces; they looked polished and presentable, like elegant models. Mr. Sharo was the only Caucasian in the room, standing out among the others. The room was illuminated by soft white LED lights that sparkled like crystals, and an expensive chandelier above provided a luxurious ambience, creating a perfect blend of moonlight, starlight, and sunlight.
The room was silent except for the clinking of teaspoons against tea cups.
Suddenly, the breakfast period came to an end. The silence was broken by a prayer offered by Malam Uthman, the company auditor, as instructed by the CEO through a message that Adams had relayed to everyone before her arrival.
"Amen..." everyone sighed in unison after the prayer.
Adams stood up to deliver his speech with dignity, saying, "Good morning, everyone." He paused momentarily to clear his throat. "It's a beautiful morning, filled with honey tea, coffee, and sweet sandwiches. Today represents a fresh journey towards the foreseeable future, and we cannot achieve our goals alone; we must work together with the right partners.
Good morning, everyone. Today is a special day with our client present, looking sharp in his tuxedo and embodying the qualities of a humble gentleman.
Life can be thrilling with someone willing to embrace opportunities, and we aim to provide goods and services that positively impact society and contribute to a brighter future.
Welcome, Mr. Sharo, to our esteemed organization that offers numerous opportunities. My CEO and fellow board members are prepared to deliberate on our potential collaboration after considering some key points, and I invite you to share your thoughts with us. Please feel free to explore all the opportunities you desire to achieve your business objectives, and we will strive to facilitate a win-win agreement.
Thank you."
Mr Sharo then approached the microphone with a positive demeanour and stated, "I am Sharo from Belgium. I'm honoured to be here, and I appreciate your hospitality. This is a well-organized centre with enthusiastic people, and I am eager to strike a deal with all of you.
What I seek is for your organization to partner with my company for the exportation of oil and gas from this country to Belgium. All we need is your signature on the permit to proceed with the transactions, placing no liability or risk on your company. You can set the price for this.
I would be thrilled if you consider this a done deal. Thank you."
**CEO:** "Thank you, Adams, for your eloquent speech, and thank you, Mr. Sharo, for choosing us. I am ready to move forward with this agreement, but first, we have a sample of our contract memo that I would like you to review carefully. If you agree with everything, we can proceed from there. Thank you."
**Mr. Sharon:** "That sounds great, and thank you once again."
Adams then passed the memo to Mr. Sharo for his review. Mr. Sharo expressed his gratitude to Adams for facilitating the meeting, and Adams warmly welcomed him, saying, "You are welcome."
As the meeting concluded and everyone was preparing to return to their respective offices, Mr. Sharon was excited and continued shaking hands with the board members present.
Adams and a few other board members accompanied Mr. Sharon to his car. "I will call you later so we can talk more. Thank you all," Mr. Sharon cheerfully said as he got into his car and drove away.
The CEO called Adams on the phone and said, "Whenever you are done with what you're doing, I would love to see you in my office."
Adams replied, "Okay, ma."
Mariyam said, "Sir, I sincerely appreciate your efforts toward the deal with the client. Presenting all of this was a brilliant idea. At first, I was sceptical because of his approach and the way he presented everything, which made me think he might not genuinely be interested."
Adams responded, "You're right; not everyone would understand his tone, but he can't hide the fact that his mannerisms are unusual for a native speaker. Still, you can see he's a good guy and ready for business. That's why we need direct contact or meetings with many clients—to know more about them and their motives.
Physical communication and phone conversations are two different things. Sometimes seeing people in person provides clarity, and interpersonal interactions can really make things more comprehensible."
Mariyam replied, "Yes, you're right—' Facing the door direction, you can better find your way in or out.'"
Adams glanced at the clock on the wall as he finished arranging some documents from the drawers. Between clenched teeth, he said to Mariyam, "I hid a document here that I plan to show the CEO, but I can't find it." He drew back the curtain and pulled out the drawer near the window to search for the documents, eventually finding them behind some files. "Thank heaven, here it is," he exclaimed.
Mariyam asked, "What is it for?"
Adams replied, "These are the contract agreement documents I want to show to the CEO."
"Okay, let me take a look," Mariyam said politely.
He handed her the documents, and just then, his phone rang. He hastily picked up the call. "Hello," he said.
The CEO asked, "Are you still busy?"
Adams replied, "No, ma. I'm on my way to your office right now."
He then said to Mariyam, "Please hand these to me; I'll take them to her." Resuming his easy demeanour, he added, "Thank you."
Mariyam responded, "Okay, sir," as she handed over the documents to him with graceful politeness.
Adams said, "Excuse me for a moment. Let me see her; I'll be back soon to continue."
Mariyam replied, "No problem."
