They arrived at the venue and as they entered the hall. It's already packed with so many wealthy people from oracle city and other cities as well. The inevitable war against the S rank families are known by many people including the nearby cities. They stared at Bonna who's walking with a random man at her side. They didn't even care about Josh as they assume that he is just a bodyguard.
Bonna felt nervous as she feels the gazes of the participants of the auction. 'This is Josh's first time in a place like this I must assure him so he won't be nervous.' When Bonna looks at him, Josh is walking so confident. She was stunned for a moment and decided to ignore him. They found their seats near the front.
"Josh, I know this is your first time coming to an auction like this. Due to my family's issue now, I'm not sure about what they're planning but if ever they talk bad about us or my family just let me handle it okay?" She looks him at the eyes with worry.
Josh nodded "okay sure"
The murmurs of the crowd can be heard. Although she can't understand what they're talking about but Josh is different. He clearly heard the crowd talking about the issue of the major families.
The door of the hall swung open and the representative of Douglas family and Wade family entered. People began to flatter them as to them the Jenners will perish if the fight between them started. The wealth of the Jenner family and its allies is like a big pie. If the Douglas family and Wade family won, both of them will be unstoppable. That's why many people began on flattering them to reap benefits on the future.
"Mr. Marsh and Mr. Cole this is your seats"
"You look great tonight Mr. Cole"
"You carry an air of wisdom and nobility Mr. Marsh"
Both of them has a haughty smile on their faces. Marsh faces them and said "thank you so much everyone. In the future if you need something you just need to approach me and Mr. Cole, we will help everyone of you"
The crowd erupted in joy. "Thank you Mr. Marsh and Mr. Cole"
"As expected they are very kind and smart"
"Long live the Wade and Douglas family"
The businessmen are praising them while Bonna was totally ignored. She just sat there and looking at them while Josh is observing everything inside the venue. Marsh and Cole take their seats on the other side of Bonna.
They noticed her and decided to be arrogant in front of her. "You know Ms. Jenner you shouldn't be going around spending money when your family is in crisis. You will need every penny you have when your family goes bankrupt"
The two of them made fun of her in front of many elites. Although the Jenner family is in crisis now, the other elites didn't dare to laugh at her because the Jenner's power far surpasses them.
"Well I have money to spare and I will spend it when I like. Unlike you two who's going into this bidding with no money."
The hall was silent after Bonna retorted.
'She's really fearless'
'Well she's the iron rose of this city. I respect her for standing up for herself'
'but even if what she said is true. The Jenners will be likely to be annihilated'
Murmurs among the crowd can be heard but Bonna doesn't care about what they said. While Josh just look at the crowd and her.
"What did you say? You're just a little girl who can't backup herself. You have no right to speak to me. Even your father will not speak to me this way!" Marsh shouted.
"Ms. Jenner I don't think you understand the situation that you are in right now. Your family doesn't have the capability to take on the Wade family and of course our very own Douglas family. Soon you'll come begging for forgiveness" Cole look at Bonna coldly. She shuddered as Cole is a martial artist while she's just a normal human.
Just as the people thought it was over, suddenly a voice echoes around the hall "A two grown men ganging up on one woman. Is that how the Wade and Douglas dogs behave?"
They look to the person who just spoke. Josh stared at two of them with the look of disgust on his face. "Clearly the Douglas and Wade family doesn't have the capabilities to teach a few dogs" he added.
The crowd was shocked and dumbfounded on what they have heard just now.
'Who's that young man?'
'Is he from other city, I'm not familiar with him'
'Maybe he is a wealthy heir who came from the other city'
Cole release some of his aura to intimidate Josh but to his surprised. Josh released a little bit of his aura too. Everyone in the hall felt a chill running through their spine.
'His aura is very chilling, I can't feel how strong he is. It's like I'm staring into abyss. This guy is not normal who is he?' Cole ponder for a bit.
Bonna was shocked as well, this is the second time he saw this other side of Josh. The first one is at the party and today. The chillness of the air was broken by the host who speaks. They all look at the stage.
"Sorry for the delay everyone. I know you're all here to bid for one our most prized treasures. So let's start the bidding!" The host cheerfulness has liven up the place.
Unbeknownst to them a woman in her mid twenties look at them from a distance and smiled. "I felt his chilling aura earlier. It means that he killed many people and he is a powerful expert. I want every information regarding to that handsome man"
"Understood Madam!" The man left the beautiful woman as she continues to stare at Josh.
The bidding starts and some of them bid for some items like rare herbs, large pearl, ancient artifacts and even a necklace. Marsh, Cole, and Bonna didn't bid. They are looking for the two main lot. A land in the suburbs and construction contract.
"The next item is a cauldron, it is from an ancient kingdom. This cauldron was used in ancient kingdom of our country. This is the cauldron that the cooks and the chefs of the king used."
'This must be faked'
'Yeah, a high end imitation'
'True, I will not waste my money for a pot'
Huge number of people from the hall thought the cauldron was just an imitation or just a fake.
Josh's eyes widens in surprise. 'I can sense a very powerful trace of aura on the cauldron. Maybe it's not used a cooking pot but instead it was used to create pills and elixirs in the past'
"The bid starts at one million and the margin of the next bid must be hundred thousand. The bidding starts now!"
"2 million"
"2.4 million"
"2.5 million"
"3 million!"
Only a handful of people bid for the cauldron. "3 million! Going once, going twice"
"5 million"
Bonna stared at Josh. Even the people from the hall stared at him in surprise.
"Excuse me young man but why did you buy that? It's just a high end imitation" Marsh mocks and started to laugh.
"I heard that this auction was organized by a powerful family in one of the big cities here in ore region. Are you saying that the item they place here in bidding is fake?" Josh smiled.
"You little.." he was about to retort but unable to because of Josh's remarks
The host heard their conversation and said "The Parry family is well known in organizing and selling items and artifacts. We also have permission from the government and many appraisal from the capital. Mr. Marsh if you don't have the money to bid you can just sit there and watch. Don't make a scene here. Let this gentleman to bid for his heart content. If we heard you again, talking bad about us. Don't blame us for escorting you out."
The cauldron was successfully sold to him. He walk to the stage and pay the amount. He return to his seat with a grin on his face. "You got him earlier good job" Bonna looks at him and chuckles.
Seeing her happy face, he instantly blushed and look the other way. "Why did you buy that thing?"
"Well it can be a great pot for you know... Uhm.."
"For what?" She was about to ask him more but her attention was taken away by the next item the land from the suburbs.
