Chapter 5:Contact
FLASHBACK-U.A. GROUNDS
After classes ended, Izuku and his friends made their way out of the building. But before they could head home, he needed to take care of two things first. ''Wait.'' He made his way in front of Iida and Bakugou, confusing them with a sheepish grin as he held out a hand to them. ''No hard feelings?''
Iida immediately understood and shook his hand with a smile. ''None at all Midoriya, like I said, it was a learning experience. And rest assured, there won't be any bad blood between us.'' The tall teen smiled before narrowing his eyes at Ochako who giggled at remembering the battle.
Izuku chuckled, then turned to Bakugou with an extended hand. The latter stared at it blankly for a moment before grabbing it with a huff. ''Yeah, yeah, good game or some shit.'' He rolled his eyes as he let go of the hand but smirked.
Izuku just laughed and shook his head. ''Never change Kacchan.'' He smiled while Bakugou grunted before he and the group started moving again.
Only to stop again when Izuku wanted to add something else. ''One more thing.''
Bakugou snapped at him in annoyance. ''Oh, for FUCKS SAKE! What is it this time!?'' His shout made the three sweatdrop. ''I already shook your hand!''
Izuku cleared his throat and faced the explosive teen. ''I just want to talk to Ochako. Can you and Iida wait for a bit?'' His odd request garnered confused looks from them.
Bakugou gave him a weird look before eventually nodding. ''Fine, but hurry up.'' He waved it off as he and Iida went ahead to give them some privacy.
''Is everything alright?'' Ochako asked in concern as she stood in front of him.
Doing his best to compose himself, though still embarrassed, Izuku spoke. ''Actually...I need advice.'' Her curiosity grew at that. ''I plan to hang out with Ashido more, but I don't exactly know how to do it. So, I wanted to ask you about-''
Ochako squealed as she hugged him. "Really!? I'm so happy for you!" She bounced in place for a bit before releasing a very red-faced Izuku and placing both hands on his shoulders with an eager look. ''So where are you taking her on a date?''
Somehow, he turned redder from the question as his mind short-circuited. ''It's not a d-d-date!'' He stammered.
Ochako simply responded by giving him a knowing look that didn't help. ''I just want to get to know her more.'' He insisted while looking around, making sure that no one was listening in. ''I'm not really good with this kind of thing, so I felt it was best to ask advice from you.''
After hearing his reasoning, her expression softened. ''What do you want to know?''
After taking a few breaths, Izuku looked at her. ''As you can tell, I like making friends.'' He received a nod. ''But with her, it feels...different." He sighed and stared at his feet. "I just want to know the best way to ask her.''
''So basically...you like her.'' Ochako said with a knowing grin
With pink dusting his cheeks, Izuku made eye contact with her. ''I'm not sure.'' He confessed, making her confused. ''To be honest, I want to figure out these feelings first. But I do want to get to know her." He lightly smiled.
In all honesty, this was the first time he'd experienced these feelings. So, he needed to be sure that these were real and not just some phase that would end with both of them being hurt.
Ochako nodded in understanding with a smile. ''Well, that's easy then.'' She agreed, gaining his full attention. ''Just be yourself Deku!" She encouraged.
Not expecting that, he gave her a confused look. ''Huh?''
She giggled at his expression. ''Believe it or not, just being yourself is the best approach to this situation.'' She said knowingly.
His expression then turned into a one of concern. ''But what if I say something wrong?'' He looked away with a grimace. ''Or what if I say something stupid, insensitive or even offe-''
Ochako firmly grabbed his shoulders and wore a stern expression. "Deku!" She berated, snapping him out of his dilemma. ''You're a good person that cares about others. I should know, I experienced your friendship first hand.'' She reassured with a chuckle.
Her words helped him calm down and promptly hugged her. ''That means a lot, thanks bud.'' He lightly tightened the hug.
Ochako returned the embrace with equal gusto. ''Anytime Deku. And if you need any more advice, I'm all ears. And don't you worry, I'll keep this to myself.'' She encouraged in a soft tone.
''Right.'' He loosened the hug to smile at her.
They were about to reunite with the others when Izuku stopped while checking his things. He then crouched and opened his bag to double-check.
Turning around, Ochako eyed him with concern. ''What's wrong Deku?''
After double-checking, Izuku sighed before looking up with an embarrassed grin. ''Well, I may or may not have forgotten something in the classroom. You guys can go ahead while I go get it.'' He said sheepishly.
''Are you sure?'' Ochako asked.
He nodded. ''Yeah, I'm sure, I've stalled you guys long enough anyway." He stood and wore his bag again. "See you tomorrow." He grinned.
Ochako looked unsure but eventually nodded. ''Well okay then, see you tomorrow, Deku!'' She waved him goodbye before making her way to Iida and Bakugou.
Chuckling to himself, Izuku waved his friends goodbye before heading back.
FLASHBACK-U.A. GROUNDS-1A CLASSROOM
Upon entering, he immediately saw his notebook on the teacher's desk. Aizawa must have expected him to return for it. "Thanks, Sensei." He chuckled as he grabbed the notebook and placed it in his bag.
After making sure that everything was indeed where it was supposed to be, he made his way out of the building.
FLASHBACK-U.A. GROUNDS
On his way down he began thinking of ways to approach Ashido about this. Maybe after classes tomorrow or through a text message?
The option to ask her friends is there as well. But it might draw some unwanted attention, which could backfire on both of them.
Sighing at the last thought, Izuku shrugged. "Well, either way, I need to find the right moment to…'' He trailed off when he saw a familiar head of pink hair.
It appears Ashido was making her way home and from what he could see, she was alone. ''Or we could do it now.'' He thought with a light gulp as he caught up with her.
''H-Hey, Ashido.'' He stuttered out, getting her attention.
PRESENT TIME-U.A. GROUNDS
''How about we hang out sometime?'' Izuku said calmly, but his slightly nervous look betrayed him.
She blinked at him, which only made him scream mentally. Did he say it wrong? Did it sound desperate? He thought about taking it back but his voice died in his throat.
In the meantime, Mina processed what he asked. She played it back in her head a few times before her eyes then widened at the realization. ''...Did you just ask me out?'' She asked in surprise with a bit of lilac on her cheeks.
Izuku's face also changed color as he scrambled to explain himself. ''No!'' He half shouted in a slight panic, making her confused. ''I-I mean.'' He quickly composed himself. ''It's just that I had fun and I wanted to get to know you more.'' He confessed as he looked away. Why did this have to be so difficult!?
Mina went in thought for a moment before smiling, despite the bit of color on her cheeks. ''Sure.''
Izuku snapped at her in surprise. ''R-Really?'' The tomato-faced hero stammered.
She nodded, causing his heart to flutter. ''Yeah, I mean, I was planning on asking you the same thing.'' He gaped at the statement. ''I pretty much wanted to know about you too.'' She admitted with a bit of embarrassment.
Shaking off his shock, Izuku's expression lit up. ''Great!" She giggled at his enthusiasm before he froze and quickly recomposed himself. "W-Well, I'll see you around then.'' He said as he prepared to head back home.
''Uhh, dude?'' Mina called out, making him stop and turn to her with an eyebrow raised. ''You didn't say when or where.'' She teased with a sly grin.
Realizing her point, he paled. ''Oh.'' He blushed in embarrassment.
Mina giggled at his dorkiness. ''How about this.'' She gestured between them. ''We can figure it out once we meet each other at the mall during the weekend.'' She proposed.
Izuku nodded with enthusiasm. ''Sounds like a plan to me, Ashido." He chuckled. "I can already tell that that'll be fun.'' He grinned, a gesture she returned.
"Same." Mina nodded before she turned away and looked over her shoulder with a sweet smile. ''Oh, and by the way.'' He gave her a curious look. ''Call me Mina.'' She winked before leaving with lilac on her cheeks, leaving him dumbstruck.
And although blushing as well, he nodded with a small wave before leaving with a goofy grin on his face.
They then went their separate ways, heading home with big smiles and excitement for what was to come on the weekend.
THE NEXT DAY
As Izuku rode the train to school, his thoughts drifted to his encounter with Mina yesterday.
He spent the remainder of the night thinking about his feelings. And had concluded that he had developed a crush on the energetic pink teen.
But unfortunately, the love-struck boy still wasn't sure how to approach the subject. He wasn't even sure if things would even work out between them.
An admittedly sad thought, but he strengthened his resolve and pushed those negative thoughts away. Things will turn out fine for them, he just needs to stay determined!
U.A. GROUNDS-FRONT ENTRANCE
Walking to his school, Izuku thought about his current situation. Sure, he asked her to hang out yesterday, but that didn't mean he had a real plan on what to do.
Of all the challenges he expected to face on his journey to becoming a Hero, he never would have expected hanging out with his crush to be one of them.
Suddenly the idea of battling another Zero Pointer didn't sound so hard now.
Chuckling at the thought, Izuku shook his head. "I guess crushes are more complicated than any villain." He muttered to himself as he caught sight of U.A. "Welp, life wasn't meant to be straightforward."
His thoughts were interrupted when he saw a large gathering of people in front of U.A.'s gate. "What's this all about?" He could tell right away that it wasn't an attack since there wasn't any noticeable damage, but he decided to take a closer look.
Upon closer inspection, he was able to identify the mob as a dozen reporters who seemed to be interested in talking to any U.A. student or Pro Hero Teacher nearby.
Some reporters broke off from the group and interviewed a few students from the support class. Said students looked overwhelmed and tried to answer the questions as best they could.
Izuku also noticed a few more reporters breaking off to interview 1B students. "Huh..." The reporters were firing off so many questions that he honestly wasn't able to pick up any of them. "Isn't this something." He sweatdropped as the 1B students were just as overwhelmed as he was and politely excused themselves as they pushed through the mob.
He looked ahead, noting how the mob looked smaller now thanks to their dispersal. "Looks manageable, but still too many." He looked down at himself before shrugging. "Welp, nothing I can do about it I guess." He could always teleport, but he'd rather not waste his energy.
As he made his way through, bracing himself for any bombardment of questions, he was pleasantly surprised that the reporters didn't even approach him. It seems as though he simply wasn't interesting looking which suited him just fine.
Once he got through, Izuku sighed in relief. ''I don't think I'll ever get used to media attention if it reaches me.'' He muttered as he glanced back at the mob of reporters with an uneasy look.
''You and me both.''
With a jolt, he looked ahead in surprise and was met with an annoyed Aizawa glaring at the reporters. The mob noticed this and tried to get him to answer questions.
Only for a steel door to appear and keep them out. Once making sure that no one got through, the pro turned to Izuku ''Trust me, it's best to keep them out.'' He then gestured to the school. ''I should mark others late, but since those vultures are in the way I'll let it pass.''
Izuku nodded but looked reluctant. "But sir, what about the other students out there?" He eyed the steel door with a guilty look similar to that of one who abandoned people to the wolves. Or vultures, in this case.
Aizawa looked amused by his expression but hid it behind his scarf and lazily waved a hand. "Don't worry, the staff and I can rescue them." Izuku turned to him with a questioning look. "In a world of quirks, one must always be prepared for situations like this."
Taking the pro's words to heart, Izuku eyed the door again before nodding to his teacher with a smile. "Alright, sensei." He slightly bowed before heading to the classroom.
The erasure pro watched him go with a tiny smile before turning to the door with a tired sigh. "Better call Hizashi." He muttered as he took out his phone. "He's the only one loud enough to disperse a flock like this." Plus, he wasn't ashamed to admit that it was always fun watching reporters run away from his loud friend.
U.A. GROUNDS-1A CLASSROOM-LATER
Izuku idly listened as his classmates chatted about the media attention they got until Aizawa walked in, effectively silencing everyone in the room. ''I took the liberty of reviewing your mock battles yesterday.'' He casually said as he made it to his desk while a few students became nervous.
''Bakugou.'' Aizawa called, gaining the teen's attention. ''This isn't a competition, stop acting like a child and take it seriously. Don't waste your skills on personal things and keep situational awareness in mind.'' He urged while looking him in the eye. "Simulation or not, don't mess around and cooperate with your team."
''Got it.'' Bakugou nodded with a serious look, having already reflected on this in his free time.
''Iida.'' The tall teen met the pro's tired gaze. ''If you have any ideas, make sure you tell your teammate immediately." He raised his hand when the teen was about to speak. "I understand the situation you were in, but if you believe it's best to stay together then say so, don't hesitate." His eyes hardened. "Teamwork is essential in the world of pros, without unity you're doomed to fail, understood?''
Iida stood and bowed ''Yes sensei!'' He shouted. The pro's eye twitched while the students sweatdropped at the overzealous teen.
''Ashido.'' The pink teen shrank a bit from the pro's gaze. ''Not too bad, but you need to think for yourself more. Following plans is all good, but you need to pitch in your ideas as well.''
''Got it teach!'' Mina cheerfully replied, only to sweat when the pro glared at her. ''E-Er, I mean, yes sensei!'' She corrected in a frightened tone.
Aizawa nodded and turned to Izuku who was patiently waiting for his turn. ''Midoriya.'' The teen gulped from his gaze. ''Not bad either. You took the battle seriously and used your analysis to defend the bomb, but you need to learn how to take less damage when in a fight. Keep in mind that staying in a fight could mean a lot in a 'life or death' situation. And not just for you, but for others around you as well.''
''Noted.'' Izuku nodded in determination.
Aizawa then turned to the class with a blank look that made everyone worried. ''Before anything else, there's something we need to address.'' His tone made everyone feel dread, thinking that it was another special test.
''We need to select your class president.'' The pro said in total boredom.
''It's a normal school activity!'' The students collectively sighed in relief.
Izuku relaxed in his seat, being the class president would essentially mean being someone to follow behind and although the position did sound appealing, he honestly wasn't sure if he'll even be voted.
His classmates then raised their hands for the position.
''Ohh! Ohh! I want to be the class president!'' Mina exclaimed while jumping to her feet.
''I wanna do it too!'' Toru cheered while waving her sleeves around.
''Who better to choose than moi.'' Aoyama posed with sparkles that made Tokoyami grimace and his quirk to screech within him.
''Let me take the lead!'' Kirishima said in the manliest way possible.
''VOTE FOR ME YOU FUCKERS!'' I'm sure you know who said that.
''Welp, at least they're sure about wanting the position.''Izuku chuckled as he watched the chaos. He figured that if he wasn't sure to have the position, then he wasn't ready to have it.
Plus, he'd rather not add more responsibility to his plate. Being the wielder of OFA was plenty enough.
''Silence please!'' Iida's shout caused everyone to quiet down. ''It is a job with the responsibility to lead others.'' He then stood with a serious look. ''We should do this democratically and vote on who would be the best to lead us!'' He suggested while raising his arms.
Tsuyu tilted her head. ''Is it not too early to develop trust with one another?''
''And we might just vote for ourselves!'' Kirishima added.
Iida wasn't fazed at all and continued. ''That is precisely why, whoever receives the most votes here, will be the most suitable.'' He finished with his usual arm chops before turning towards Aizawa who was getting ready to have a nap. ''Is that alright, Aizawa sensei?''
''As long as you get it done.'' The pro said before lying down.
As everyone was given a piece of paper to write their votes on. Izuku stared at his paper before looking around to see who would be the best to vote for.
He was about to vote for Iida until something caught his eye. Momo Yaoyorozu, if he remembered right, was looking tense. She had her fingers crossed while waiting with her eyes closed. "Someone's eager." He glanced around the room and found that nobody looked as hopeful as her.
And with that, his decision was clear. He then placed his vote in the bucket with the others.
After the votes were tallied, the results made Izuku wide-eyed. ''I got four votes!?'' He shouted in shock as he stood.
He wasn't alone as Bakugou stood as well. ''The hell!?'' He yelled. ''Who the fuck voted for you!?'' He demanded as his body shook.
''Better than voting for you.'' Sero muttered with a slight chuckle before flinching when the explosive teen snapped a glare at him.
Meanwhile, Ochako was looking to the side with a small smile on her face.
''Zero votes…'' Iida said with a gloomy tone.
Yaoyorozu gave him an incredulous look. ''You didn't vote for yourself?'' She stood while muttering. "Even though you suggested doing this."
With the votes finished a nervous-looking Izuku and a calm Yaoyorozu stood side by side in front of the class.
From his sleeping bag, Aizawa grunted. ''Alright, Midoriya will be the class president and the vice president will be Yaoyorozu.'' He announced as he went back to sleep while his students stared blankly at him.
''How vexing.'' Yaoyorozu whispered as she looked to the side with a frown.
Izuku noticed this and gently tapped her on the shoulder, grabbing her attention. ''Sorry about this.'' He bowed a bit, surprising her. "If it makes you feel any better, I wasn't expecting to win." He looked up with a sheepish grin. "And to be blunt, I'm not exactly interested in this position."
As her shock wore off, the new Vice President realized that she had been heard and looked ashamed. ''I should be the one apologizing, I didn't mean to sound bitter.'' She bowed, surprising him. "This is the position I was granted; I must be humble and thankful for it." She then straightened herself with a smile. "I look forward to working with you." She offered a hand.
Izuku blinked before chuckling as he shook her hand. "I'll try not to slow you down lady." He jested, earning a small laugh from her as she nodded.
U.A. GROUNDS-CAFETERIA
Izuku sat at the lunch table with his friends, they were joined by Mina, her group of friends, and Yaoyorozu since she and a girl named Jiro were good friends. The latter part of the pink teen's group.
''Welp, didn't expect to be the class president.'' Izuku rubbed the back of his head. ''I mean, I didn't expect any votes to be honest.'' His admission shocked them apart from Yaoyorozu.
Jiro put her glass of water down before giving him a questioning look. "Why did you think that?"
To this, he lightly shrugged. "I dunno." He scratched his cheek a bit with a grin. "I guess I thought I was too plain to vote for." He chuckled before taking a bite out of his food.
"'Plain'?" Kaminari repeated before scoffing lightly. "Pretty sure you're one of the most interesting people here dude." His point was supported by his classmates.
Grinning, Izuku raised an index finger and formed a tiny bone above it. "I wouldn't exactly call myself interesting." His comment was met with chuckles and amused looks. "But if you guys think so, then I'll just roll with it." His smile faltered as he despawned the bone. "I just hope that I can do well."
''I'm sure you'll do great Deku!'' Ochako encouraged him as she ate her rice.
''Yeah man!'' Kirishima agreed with equal energy as he clapped Izuku on the shoulder. ''From what I've seen, you deserved my vote too.'' He flashed him a thumbs up.
''You voted for me?'' Izuku said in shock, not expecting a vote from the manly teen.
Kirishima grinned with a nod. ''Yeah.'' He gestured to Mina. ''From what I've heard from my 'horn buddy' here, you're the one who came up with the plan during the battle trial.''
''He's right.'' Iida added as he ate. ''You not only have great analysis, but you also have a hero's heart. That's why I voted for you as well.'' He said while smiling at his friend.
''Ok, that's three votes down.'' Jiro said as she turned to Izuku. ''Did you vote for yourself?''
Izuku shook his head, much to their surprise. "Nope.'' He looked at Yaoyorozu, who was confused. ''I voted for her actually.'' The creation teen was understandably shocked by this. ''I noticed that she seemed to want the position. So, I thought: 'If she's eager, it means she can do it.' So, I voted for her.'' He finished with a lazy shrug, while the creation teen looked embarrassed at being seen that way and made a mental note to hide her emotions better.
He then turned to Iida with an apologetic look. ''I also wanted to vote for Iida, he seemed like a guy who would take the position seriously.'' He looked down at the table. ''But Yaoyorozu here seemed more determined so I voted for her in the end.''
With a smile, Iida waved a hand. ''It's alright!'' He chopped his arms in the air. ''Thank you for having faith in me as well!'' He bowed towards Izuku who looked glad that there weren't any hard feelings.
Though still embarrassed, Yaoyorozu cleared her throat, gaining everyone's attention. ''Thank you for having faith in me as well Midoriya, I'll be sure not to waste it.'' She smiled with a small bow of thanks.
Izuku waved his hand. ''No need for formalities with me, just call me what you like, all my friends do that." They were shocked by this as he grinned and gestured to Bakugou, who was enjoying his meal. ''Take Kacchan here for example, he calls me 'Deku'.'' He chuckled as the explosive teen smirked at him.
''Friends?'' Yaoyorozu repeated after recovering from the shock.
''Well...'' Izuku rubbed the back of his head. ''From what I can tell, you're all good people so I'm sure we can be good friends." He smiled brightly at them.
''So Bright!'' Everyone attempted to shield their eyes while Bakugou muttered something about friendship and bullshit.
''If that's the case.'' Yaoyorozu said, gaining Izuku's attention. ''Please call me Momo.'' She offered kindly while Izuku nodded with a smile.
''Well, if Izuku didn't vote for himself, then where did the other vote come from?'' Jiro rubbed her chin.
''From me!'' Mina cheered as she raised her hands in the air. The gesture made Izuku hide his face from how adorable it was, causing Ochako to snicker from his embarrassment.
Mina noticed his blush and with a grin, she continued. ''I voted for Midori here because he's the man with the plan!'' She cheered with a double thumbs up.
While doing his best to look her in the eye, Izuku replied. ''T-thanks A-A-Ashido" He stuttered out with a light blush.
Besides Ochako, everyone else was confused by the sudden demeanor change that he showed. While Mina narrowed her eyes as she leaned forward. ''I thought I told you to call me Mina?'' She recalled in a sly tone while pouting at him.
"Cute." Izuku's face reddened a bit more. ''S-Sorry about that, M-Mina.'' He gave her a crooked grin.
Mina's faux expression turned into a genuine smile. ''It's all good Midori.'' The OFA user did his best to return the smile before focusing on his food. Mentally berating himself for losing his cool just now
Deciding to save him, Ochako asked. ''Iida, are you a rich kid?'' Her blunt question made everyone else sweatdrop.
''R-Rich kid!?'' Iida repeated, a little shocked before looking away. ''I try to change the way I talk but I come from a family of heroes. I'm the second son.'' He turned to them with a proud smile. ''Have you ever heard of the Turbo Hero: Ingenium?''
Immediately ignoring his food, Izuku's eyes sparked to life as a huge smile appeared on his face. ''Of course! That's the pro hero whose Tokyo office hired numerous sidekicks!'' He said in excitement. He was about to continue when he noticed everyone staring at him.
The OFA user blushed a bit and looked away. ''Sorry, it's a habit.'' He said in a bashful tone, making everyone fondly laugh while Mina idly thought that it was cool that he knew a lot about heroes.
''Anyways.'' Iida cut in, gaining everyone's attention. ''Ingenium is my big brother!'' He proudly said, making everyone shocked.
''Huh, didn't expect someone in our class to be related to a hero.'' Jiro admitted with a small chuckle.
Recovering from his earlier embarrassment, Izuku rhetorically asked. ''I guess you want to be just like your brother then?''
"Absolutely!" Iida nodded with a smile as he sat a little taller. ''My brother is known for being a great hero who saves people! I want to be just like him!''
Everyone at the table gave Iida a smile at his declaration, even Bakugou eyed him with respect.
*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*
With a jolt, everyone stood alert from the alarm. ''The siren!?'' Iida glanced at the panicking students as his classmates prepared to move while Momo helped Jiro who was covering her ears in grimace.
[''SECURITY LEVEL 3 BREACHED. STUDENTS, EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY.'']
All students began rushing towards the exit. And as a result, they ended up pushing against each other. Causing the hallways to be flooded with bodies which slowed the evacuation.
Izuku found himself pushed against the window and saw that it was the same mob of reporters coming through the gates. ''It's not a villain attack, it's just the press!'' He turned to figure out a plan to calm the crowd and tell them that it was just reporters.
But just as he figured out how to do that, he saw Iida in the air. "What the?" Izuku's confusion was answered when he saw Ochako nearby, the latter watching the taller teen float while concentrating on her quirk.
Iida then used his engines quirk to propel himself down the hall and slammed onto the wall above the exit. He then yelled but it was clear that no one heard or even noticed him above the door.
Seeing this, Izuku decided to give him a hand as he formed a small blaster above him and aimed it at the ceiling. He made sure to lower the power to not blast through it, although it would leave a burn mark.
*ZWOOSSHH*
A brief flash of green lit the hallway accompanied by a sound that startled everyone. Following the source, they saw Izuku with his hands in his pockets and the blaster gone.
With a grin on his face, he pointed to Iida who was still stuck on the wall. ''I think you better listen to him.'' He calmly said.
Following his finger, the crowd turned to Iida who gave Izuku a look of gratitude before speaking. ''It's alright everyone! Just look! It's just the press!''
Once they realized they were not in any danger the students calmed down and began helping others who may have been injured. All the while, Izuku looked at Iida with a smile before nodding to himself.
U.A. GROUNDS-1A CLASSROOM
Both Izuku and Momo stood in front of the class, wanting to discuss an idea they both agreed on. After Iida and his classmates calmed the students down, the police arrived to force the reporters off campus.
''Alrighty, before we start.'' Izuku said, gaining everyone's attention. "Thank you, Iida, Ochako, and everyone else who helped calm the students in the cafeteria.'' His statement got smiles in return before he sighed. ''Now, I would like to step down as class rep and have Iida take my place.''
He then raised his hands defensively with a sheepish expression before anyone could speak. ''We all saw how he handled things back there. He reacted with no hesitation once he figured out the cause. And I'm sure we can all agree that Iida here follows the rules to the letter.'' He nudged his head to Momo who remained calm. "Momo and I already talked about it, so there's no issue with it." She nodded in confirmation while his classmates took a moment to consider his words.
"And besides." Izuku added. "I'd rather not have more responsibilities." He chuckled. "It's bad for nap schedules." He winked with a cheeky grin while in the back, Aizawa snorted in amusement but agreed with him since he went through something similar.
While some deadpanned at him, others were amused by his remark but all were seeing his point.
As for Iida, he was taken aback by this decision. He was about to object until his classmates spoke.
''You know…" Toru hummed before nodding. "I'm ok with this.'' She shrugged.
''Do your best!'' Mina cheered with a big grin.
Kirishima nodded and gave the engine user a thumbs up. ''Go for it dude!'' He encouraged.
Iida stood and looked like he won an award as everyone voiced their approval. ''If the class rep has nominated me, then it cannot be helped.'' He placed his right hand over his heart. ''From this day forth, I, Tenya Iida, promise to do my best to carry out the duties of a class representative!'' He finished making everyone smile.
However, while this was happening, U.A.'s principal stood at the ruined gate with his fellow heroes.
THE NEXT DAY-U.A. GROUNDS-1A CLASSROOM
Aizawa stood in front of the class with another announcement for them. ''For the foundation skill heroics.'' He walked behind his desk. ''You'll be supervised by a three-man team comprising of me, All Might, and someone else.''
''What are we going to do exactly?'' Sero asked, unsure what to expect.
''Preparing for disaster relief, from fires to floods. It's essentially rescue training.'' Aizawa explained as he showed the confirmation from the principal.
''Sounds like a rough day for us!'' Denki exclaimed, unsure if he should feel happy or scared.
''C'mon bro, this is what being a hero is about! I'm pumped!'' Exclaimed Kirishima, who could hardly hold his excitement.
''I'm not done.'' Aizawa cut in as he pressed a button on a remote. ''As I was saying, it is entirely up to each of you whether or not you wear your costume.'' He said as shelves holding their costumes popped out from the side of the room. ''The training grounds are rather far so we'll need to travel by bus. That's all, get ready.'' They didn't have to be told twice as everyone grabbed their costumes before going to the changing room.
With everyone in their costumes, they made their way outside where Iida was directing everyone into the bus. ''Form two lines!'' He called while waving at them.
''Uhm, Iida?'' Izuku chuckled, gaining his attention. ''I don't think it's that kind of bus.'' He quietly said to try not to embarrass his friend.
Unfortunately, after looking at the bus, Iida shouted. ''Never mind, no need for seating arrangements!'' He called out as everyone boarded the bus.
''There was no point huh~?'' Mina teased as she sat next to Ochako who giggled, making Iida sulk a bit while Izuku merely chuckled at the interaction.
INSIDE THE BUS
The students chatted about themselves as no one had been properly introduced.
''I'm Tsuyu Asui, but you can call me Tsuyu, and I generally say what's on my mind. Izuku…'' She turned to the teen beside her. ''Your quirk is weird.'' Her blunt remark caused most to laugh.
''You're not the first one to say that.'' Izuku chuckled as he composed himself.
''She's got a point there; you can make weapons and have enhanced strength too!'' Kirishima grinned. ''It's super awesome!'' The redhead then held up his arm and activated his quirk. ''My hardening quirk isn't even near flashy as though.'' His grin turned sheepish as he rubbed the back of his head.
Izuku glanced at the redhead's arm before shaking his head. ''Your quirk doesn't need to be flashy to be powerful or even useful." His remark got a look of intrigue from the hardening user. "Not only can you pack a mean punch, but you can also be a shield for everything that you want to protect.'' He hummed at the possibilities, including possible team combinations.
Kirishima thought about it before he beamed with a toothy grin. ''A shield huh? Now that's manly!'' He crossed his hardened arms excitedly, already envisioning possible scenarios for his quirk.
"Quirks in general don't have to be flashy." Izuku added, grabbing their attention again. "As long as you use it for the right purposes…" He paused. "Or something that isn't purposely harmful." He nodded with a shrug. "Your quirk matters and is just as amazing as everyone else's. No matter the scale of it." His words were well received by everyone and found themselves respecting him.
Tsuyu hummed in agreement. "Kero, that's actually how I see things too." She sent an appreciative smile his way. "If only more people had the same view as you, then maybe there wouldn't be much bullying and discrimination." Most of her classmates murmured their agreement while Bakugou chose to remain silent for obvious reasons but agreed as well.
"Were you bullied Tsuyu?" Kaminari asked in surprise.
At that, she gave him a look that made him regret asking. "In case you haven't noticed." She calmly gestured to herself. "My quirk doesn't exactly allow me to appear like an average citizen." She sighed. "I got used to ignoring them over time thanks to my parent's advice, but I still remember children being mean to me."
"Fools." Tokoyami's stern remark surprised everyone. "I understand that they were mere children, but their parents clearly haven't properly taught them about morals." Dark Shadow emerged from his back with an indignant look. "What a bunch of jerks!" He crossed his arms while his user sighed but allowed him to stay.
Despite the circumstances, Tsuyu couldn't help but croak in amusement. "Kero, it's fine." They looked at her. "Like I said, I grew up not caring about those kinds of things." Her smile widened a bit. "But I appreciate your words." Tokoyami nodded with a small smile while Dark Shadow gave her a thumbs-up before returning to his user.
"It's always best to ignore those guys." Izuku casually added, getting their attention while Bakugou eyed him with a hint of caution. "For some reason, they crave attention or want to prove how better they are. But…" He noted that his words made his blond friend grimace with guilt so he decided to help him out. "Thankfully, there are rare cases where they grow up and realize how badly they've been treating people. Which of course, leads to becoming better than what they were." He sent a subtle look to Bakugou who caught it and nodded with appreciation in his features and a silent promise to be better.
"Very true." Shoji voiced his agreement. "I was once bullied due to the…grotesque nature of my quirk." He showed one of his tentacles and sprouted a mouth from it. "But after regaining common sense, they apologized and became more civil with me as a result." The mouth smiled while his classmates voiced how glad they are that things worked out.
They then shifted to a different topic until Mina saw an opportunity to have some fun. ''Izuku.'' Her call got his attention. ''Your eyes are really shiny you know?'' She pointed out in a playfully flirty tone, earning sighs from her friends at her antics. Like everyone else on the bus, they expected Izuku to be embarrassed as usual by her teasing.
But what they didn't expect was for him to be oblivious to the tone and answer honestly. ''Nah.'' He denied with a smile, surprising everyone. ''Yeah, my eyes are pretty neat, but they're nothing compared to yours.'' He earnestly said before looking out the window, oblivious to everyone's wide eyes or Mina's suddenly purple face.
Meanwhile, no one noticed a big smile on Ochako's face. ''He's being smooth and doesn't even know it!'' She mentally squealed at her friend's oblivious points.
Mina remained stunned by the sudden compliment. ''W-Wow, never thought I'd hear someone say that about my eyes…'' She regained focus before looking out the window to try and hide her blushing face.
Most of the time in her life, when someone commented about her eyes, they would usually be creeped out or would say inappropriate things about it.
Apart from her parents, no one had truly complimented her about them.
Izuku then turned to face them, not noticing Mina hiding her face. ''But yeah, my eyes do light up when I use my quirk." He shrugged as he made his eyes glow a bit. "So I can see what you like about them.''
Recovering from the earlier surprise, Aoyama flipped his hair. ''Your eyes may shine, but my Naval Laser outshines it!'' He posed with a smile on his face. This seemed to snap everyone out of their shock and continued as if nothing happened.
Ochako turned to him with a curious look. ''But…doesn't that make your stomach hurt?'' Her reminder made Aoyama sulk.
''If we're talking about strong and flashy, you can't forget to mention Todoroki and Bakugou!'' Kirishima cut in as he glanced at the two. The bi-colored teen didn't seem to acknowledge the statement as he continued to look out the window with an unreadable expression while Bakugou, just grunted but sat taller.
Tsuyu stared at the explosive teen for a moment before speaking. ''Bakugou's always angry and cursing, so I don't think he'll be popular.'' Izuku burst into laughter while others were stunned by how blunt she was.
"What did you say!?" Bakugou snapped a glare at Tsuyu while some flinched from the sudden volume and anger.
The frog teen, though, wasn't fazed and pointed to him with her tongue sticking out. ''See?'' She teased, making Izuku laugh harder while others just snickered.
After calming down, Izuku decided to throw a bone at the angry teen. ''You never know Tsuyu; some people may be a fan of his personality.'' He grinned while most gave him a look that said that they didn't believe him.
Bakugou wasn't having it though. ''Don't praise me you FUCKING BONEHEAD!'' He growled with his explosive palms ready.
While some grew nervous, Izuku wasn't even fazed. ''Real original, 'cherry bomb'.'' He casually retorted, making Kirishima and the others laugh while Bakugou fumed.
Off to the side, Momo covered her mouth with an appalled look. "How vulgar." Was this kind of exchange truly considered normal?
Ochako on the other hand was laughing up a storm. ''But it's funny!'' She giggled.
In the front, Aizawa unzipped his sleeping bag and glanced back with a bored face. ''We're almost there, settle down.''
''Yes sir!''
USJ GROUNDS
Upon entering the complex, the students were immediately greeted by the Space Hero: Thirteen.
Izuku reached for his pockets, only for him to stop. "Ah, damn." He lowered his hands. "That's right, we aren't bringing notebooks." He sighed. "Oh well, I can always ask for an autograph next time."
''Wow! I've always liked Thirteen!'' Ochako excitedly said while bouncing up and down.
Aizawa then approached the space-themed hero. ''Where's All Might?'' He asked in a bored tone.
Izuku wasn't able to hear the conversation, but when Thirteen held up three fingers, he immediately understood that All Might must have reached his limit for the day.
Thirteen then turned to the students. ''Anyway, as some of you may be aware, my quirk is called: Black Hole. Once something is sucked in, it turns into dust. It may be good for rescue situations but...it can also kill.'' She said in a serious tone making everyone quiet.
Izuku couldn't help but think about his quirk. He wasn't blind, if he wasn't careful, someone could easily get killed from his quirk. Whether from friendly fire from his cannons, bones, or a mishap with his psychokinesis. Taking someone's life, accident or not, was something that he didn't want himself or anyone else to experience.
His thoughts were then interrupted when he felt something enter his sensory field. "Huh?" He turned towards the main plaza of the facility. Where purple mist started to appear.
''Sensei…'' Izuku trailed off with a cautious tone as he summoned a bone club grabbing everyone's attention. Upon seeing the weapon, his classmates became concerned.
Snapping into attention, Aizawa followed Izuku's gaze only for his eyes to widen. ''Huddle together and don't move!" He ordered as he stood next to Izuku at the top of the stairs. ''Thirteen, protect the students!''
Looking down, Izuku saw a lot of villains coming out of the mist. After a moment, a hand reached out of the portal.
A man then slowly emerged, he had pale blue hair and a mostly black outfit. A hand mask on his face, only revealing his blood-lust-filled eyes. He was also covered in severed hands.
Following the blue-haired man was a hulking, dark blue, humanoid-looking creature. He looked as big as All Might. He wore shorts and knee guards. He had a brain exposed with a Beak filled with sharp teeth.
After they both exited the portal closed and turned into a villain as well. His body was made of dark purple smoke and he had bright yellow eyes. And wore an outfit similar to that of a bartender.
''Is this part of the training?'' Kirishima asked while staring at the large gathering of villains.
''Stay back!'' Aizawa shouted as he put his goggles on. ''Those are villains!''
With that statement, everyone became tense and grouped up.
''Where's All Might…?'' The lead villain with several hands said. ''We went through all this trouble, only for him not to be here…'' He said in clear disappointment before looking up at the students. ''Hmmm, I wonder if he'll show up if we kill some kids?" His carefree tone made Izuku grip his weapon tighter.
Aizawa stepped to the top of the steps with a glare on his face. ''Thirteen! Start the evacuation! Try to contact the school while you're at it.'' He then looked back to Kaminari. ''You too! Try and call for help!'' He said, making the blond nod.
With that, the hero leaped down the stairs and started fighting the villains. Taking them out one at a time. Erasing quirks left and right with no signs of stopping. Despite being outnumbered and outpowered, Aizawa was pushing the villains back with near ease. Even if his quirk didn't work on some villains, he had the skills to back him up.
Back at the top of the stairs, Izuku snapped out of his amazement and started to move to the entrance with the others.
''I'm afraid I can't allow that.'' The mist villain announced as he appeared in front of the class, cutting them off from the exit. ''We are the League of Villains.'' He introduced in a formal tone.
He was about to say more but stopped when Bakugou and Kirishima rushed at the villain while Izuku sent a fast barrage of bones with them for support.
The bones zipped by the two students and appeared to harmlessly pass through the villain for a moment before a resounding clanging sound was heard. Causing the villain to lean forward with wide eyes. "!?" He grunted in surprise.
Bakugou saw the chance and threw a powerful explosion while Kirishima used his hardening quirk to punch the villain.
*Boom*
During the explosion, Izuku's eyes widened. ''So, he does have a body, that means I could hit him with…'' His thoughts were interrupted when the smoke cleared and showed the mist villain reforming with a glare with Bakugou and Kirishima nowhere to be seen. "Where did-!?"
''Gngh...FOOLS!'' The villain growled with a bit of a strain from the bone attack, before making his move.
Suddenly the smoky substance started spreading around. And in a bit of panic, Izuku used his quirk to save whoever he could from the mist. Including Ochako, Mina, and Iida who looked at him in surprise before morphing into horror. "Izuku!'' Mina yelled in terror.
The OFA user turned in time to see the mist covering him. ''Crud!'' Was the last thing he said before he was covered.
USJ GROUNDS-FLOOD ZONE
With his vision clear, Izuku found himself falling toward a large body of water. "Ah, geez." He quickly made a medium blaster to catch him.
Coming to a complete stop, he stood on the blaster and began taking in his surroundings, to his left he could see a large boat where Tsuyu and Mineta were waving at him. "At least they're safe." He smiled before hovering towards the boat.
On his way, however, he sensed movement and saw a shark-like villain burst out of the water. ''You're chum!'' He roared as he opened his mouth, showing rows of very sharp teeth.
But unfortunately for the villain, he didn't get close to the teen before he was pelted on the back by a barrage of bones and sent back into the water with a large splash and a submerged scream.
Once the attack ended, the now unconscious villain floated to the surface, facing up with many bruises. "You say that…" A shadow loomed over the shark as Izuku's blaster hovered above him with the teen peeking down at him with a cheeky grin. "But I'm not that one belly up." He jested before leaving after making sure the man was fine.
USJ GROUNDS-FLOOD ZONE-BOAT
Upon arriving he hopped off the blaster and despawned it. ''Tsuyu, Mineta! Boy, am I glad to see you.'' Izuku said with a big smile as he jogged to the duo.
''Likewise.'' Tsuyu replied with a small smile before frowning as she glanced at the water. ''Though we're still in a tight spot.''
A serious look crossed Izuku's face as he looked over to the side where dozens of villains surrounded the boat. ''Hmm, these guys are ruthless, but even they wouldn't come here knowing that the pros would have this place well-defended." His classmates agreed with his point, also thinking along the same lines. "I mean, it's crazy enough to think that these guys believe that they could just do whatever they want knowing that All Mi-"
He paused before his expression grew grim as a possibility came to mind. "Unless All Might is their target."
Mineta freaked out from his claim. ''But that's impossible! There's no way they'd kill All Might.'' The short teen retorted like Izuku had gone crazy.
''Mineta.'' Tsuyu cut in, grabbing their attention. ''They must have a way to kill him. Otherwise, what would be the point of being here?'' She calmly pointed out but was tense at the scenario.
Izuku nodded. ''She's right you know; you'd have to be insane to go here unless you had an ace up your sleeve.'' His point made Mineta more scared than ever.
Their discussion was interrupted when the boat started rocking back and forth. Looking down the villains tore a hole on the side of the ship and waited for the entire thing to sink.
As the boat sank, Mineta was shaking while the other two students tensed. However, from what Izuku could see, they still had some time to plan before the boat completely sank. ''Clock's ticking.'' He turned to his classmates with his eyes glowing. ''Right now, we need to get out of here and regroup with the others.'' He looked at the villains. ''And to do that we need to fight.''
Tsuyu nodded while Mineta remained fearful.
''If it makes you feel any better Mineta, we have an advantage.'' Izuku grinned, surprising the two. ''If they truly planned on separating us, they would have placed Tsuyu somewhere else other than the flood zone.'' His observation made their eyes widen.
''But that would mean…they don't know our quirks.'' Mineta said in disbelief.
Izuku nodded, pointing a finger gun at him. ''Bingo!'' His grin grew wider. ''And since they don't know our quirks, the villains down there will be too cautious to make any move.'' He crouched as his point was proven when the villains simply tread in the water, instead of just swarming them. ''With the element of surprise, we just need to make a plan and they're done for.''
Once the two crouched next to him, Izuku turned to Tsuyu. ''I think now is a good time to explain our quirks to each other, that way we'll have more to work with.''
Tsuyu nodded. ''My quirk is called: Frog, it's a mutant type. I can leap high, climb walls and my tongue can stretch to a length of 20 meters. I can also secrete stomach acid by taking my stomach out.'' She said with her usual expression.
A blush formed on Mineta's face. ''Secre-'' He yelped as a bone club slid in front of his face.
Following the bone, he saw Izuku holding it with a side smile that held malicious intent. ''Don't be a creep.'' His calm warning earned a frightened nod from the short teen.
Though shocked that the normally calm student can make that kind of face, Tsuyu croaked in amusement. ''Much appreciated, Izuku.''
With a nod and a smile, Izuku despawned his weapon. ''My quirk is called: Energized Bones. It allows me to not only increase the durability of my bones, physical strength, and speed." He made a tiny bone on his palm. "But to make weapons as well. However, if I overdo it, I'll end up either hurting or exhausting myself." He shrugged with a sheepish grin as he despawned the bone. "And as you've all seen, I have psychokinesis that doesn't need to be applied to whatever bone item I make to float."
His classmates looked taken aback by the information of what his quirk can do before thinking. "Weird." Having an idea of what they were thinking, he chuckled.
Now that it was his turn, Mineta reached up and plucked one of the balls from his head and placed it on the wall. ''My quirk is called: Pop-OFF, a mutant type. Their super sticky depending on my health level and they stay sticky for as long as a day.'' He tapped his hair. ''A new one will grow the moment one is plucked, but if I pluck too much I'll start to bleed. I'm also immune to their stickiness and they just end up becoming bouncy when I touch them.'' He finished explaining.
Izuku nodded with a look of fascination. ''Fascinating.'' His comment surprised Mineta, not used to his quirk being praised. ''I believe your quirk is useful for this particular situation.'' He formed a mischievous grin, making the two confused.
''How?'' Mineta asked, his quirk could float on water but he had a feeling that the villains could easily dodge them.
Izuku smiled. ''I'm going to create a whirlpool below and scatter the villains.'' He turned to Mineta who gaped at him while Tsuyu looked stunned. ''While that's happening, I need you to throw your quirk onto the water, the current should carry them toward the villains, trapping them in the center.'' He finished with calm confidence as he sneakily peeked at the water, leaving the two speechless.
''He's so cool…'' Mineta mused before regaining his focus, closed his mouth, and mentally prepared to use his quirk as planned.
And while impressed, one thing still confused Tsuyu. ''But Izuku.'' She said gaining his attention ''How are you going to make a whirlpool?''
With a grin on his face, Izuku snapped his fingers and came a medium blaster behind him, the sight surprising Tsuyu while Mineta trembled a little from its intimidating presence. ''With this.'' He pointed a thumb toward the blaster. ''I'll ride this in the air, draw their attention while you and Mineta jump out to do the plan.'' He got on the blaster as he said this.
''But what about you?'' Tsuyu asked in worry, remembering that he could exhaust himself.
Izuku just shrugged his shoulders. ''I'll just meet you by the shore.'' His eyes glowed as 5% OFA coursed through him while Mineta wordlessly got on Tsuyu's back, careful not to grab the latter inappropriately, much to her internal relief.
With a simultaneous nod, the plan went into action as Izuku rode the blaster to the air, surprising the villains below.
''The hell is that!?'' One of the grunts shouted in surprise.
''Is he leaving his classmates?''
''After him! The rest of you, keep an eye on the other two!'' The group leader, Hanzo, yelled as he prepared to use his water quirk. "I'll tear the-" A bone to the forehead made him scream and hold his head in pain.
One of the grunts with a fish-type quirk looked up before yelping. "I-Incoming!" He screamed before submerging.
As soon as this happened, the other villains looked up before their eyes widened as bones rained down on them. "Dive!" Hanzo ordered before going under while the rest immediately followed as bones smashed on the surface.
From below, despite having numerous close calls and a couple of hits, most of them were able to avoid critical damage due to their quirks working well with the water.
After narrowly avoiding another bone to the head, Hanzo looked around when the barrage stopped. "Regroup!" The grunts did just that, though they were wary. "The brats are probably making a run for it, come on!" He gestured for them to follow as he quickly swam towards the surface with them following after a moment of hesitation.
They moved with no issue for a moment before they noticed a glowing green circle above the water. "What's that?" One of the villains asked, due to the water, it was hard to tell what it was.
Hanzo narrowed his eyes to try to see what it was. But as they reached the surface, he was able to make out glowing eyes just above the glowing circle. "Huh?" An image of the blaster came to mind, making his eyes widen in terror. "Scatter!" His sudden order startled the other villains before they did as told.
No sooner when they did do this, a green laser pierced through the water, much to their surprise and horror, before crashing to the bottom. And before they could react, an explosion scattered them further as the water dispersed for a moment before they found themselves being pulled. "I-I'm being sucked in!" A water grunt panicked as he tried to swim away in vain.
"Damn!" Hanzo cursed as he fought against the strong current. "Those brats made a damn whirlpool!" He yelled while being pulled into the center along with everyone else.
With each distance closed, the center's pull grew in strength. Which caused most of them to painfully collide with each other and worsened their spinning in the current.
After grunting from a foot to the face, a piranha-type villain grimaced before he felt something on his wrist. Glancing at it, he was confused to see an orb sticking to it. "Wha-?" He grabbed the object with his free hand, only to find his palm stuck to it. "What is this!?" He growled before having his back hit by another villain with the same orbs stuck to his back.
Hanzo heard the commotion and tried to make sense of what was happening. As he did, he could only pale as he realized what had been done to them. "W-We're being trapped!" He collided with two grunts that had been stuck together, trapping him as well before being dragged to the center where a mass of restrained villains was growing.
USJ GROUNDS-FLOOD ZONE-SHORELINE
Upon landing, Tsuyu and Mineta separated and began looking for Izuku. "Do you see him?" The short teen asked while frantically searching.
"Kero, no." Tsuyu shook her head, her frown growing when she didn't spot her friend. "I didn't see him fly with us so-"
''Heya.''
Startled, both teens turned around and saw Izuku casually standing there with a grin. ''How does he keep doing that?''
Izuku chuckled and continued. ''We need to help the others by the entrance.'' His expression turned serious. "That villain with the warp quirk could be there."
Tsuyu nodded but noted that they were in the open. ''But how do we get there without being spotted?''
Snapping his fingers, Izuku summoned a larger blaster before turning to the two. ''We'll ride this blaster off to the side so that no one within the plaza can see it." The two nodded before approaching the blaster, in Mineta's case, nervously. "By now Aizawa sensei is fighting for us and the last thing we need to do is distract him. Once we regroup with the others, we can plan on helping him next.'' The two voiced their agreement as he mounted the blaster as well.
USJ GROUNDS-ENTRANCE
Upon arriving, the students were met with a grim scene. Thirteen laid face first on the ground with her suit destroyed. Surrounding the wounded hero were the remaining students who weren't teleported, trying their best to help with the injured pro.
After dismounting the blaster, the trio was immediately noticed by the other students. Ochako came rushing to Izuku with tears in her eyes. ''Izuku, I'm glad you guys are ok!'' She cried out before she hugged him.
With a smile, Izuku returned the hug ''The feeling's mutual.'' He then looked over to Thirteen with a grimace as they separated. ''Is she...?''
To his relief, Ochako shook her head though noticeably worried. ''No, she's just unconscious.'' She smiled tiredly.
As they all grouped, Izuku noticed someone missing. ''Where's Iida?'' He asked while looking around.
''We managed to help him escape and call for backup.'' Mina chimed in with a smile.
Izuku nodded before turning to the pink teen with a warm smile. ''I'm glad you're ok.''
Mina looked away with a little lilac on her cheeks and a small smile. ''Y-Yeah, you too.''
The moment was interrupted when everyone heard Aizawa's scream accompanied by maniacal laughter. Acting fast the students went to the edge of the stairs and were stunned at what they saw.
Many villains were lying unconscious on the ground while others were about to wake up. But that wasn't the most shocking part, Aizawa was pinned on the ground by the hulking creature with both of his arms broken and his face bleeding from being slammed on the concrete.
Behind the pair was the hand villain laughing with glee before he stopped when he noticed the scared students watching. "Witnesses?" He mused before forming a sadistic smile. ''How perfect!'' He exclaimed with a creepy tone that sent shivers down everyone's spines. ''Kurogiri, send our conscious pawns to reinforce the others.'' The warp villain nodded and immediately transported the grunts still standing, including the ones that were about to wake up, leaving the unconscious ones where they are.
With his order complete, the villain took a step forward and gestured to the beast. ''Allow me to introduce to you….Nomu, the bioengineered Anti-Symbol of Peace!'' He announced making the students tremble in fear and disbelief.
From the top of the stairs, Izuku stared at the creature with wide eyes. ''So that's how they'll do it…'' He narrowed his eyes as he began analyzing the creature. If Nomu was specifically made to kill All Might then the situation was more dire than he realized.
He glanced at his classmates, taking in their expressions of dread before his eyes landed on Mina who looked on in terror. ''If that creature attacks them then…'' Izuku's eyes hardened at the thought before his gaze returned to the villains with a glow.
USJ GROUNDS-PLAZA
The mist villain appeared beside the hand villain. ''Tomura Shigaraki, I have returned.'' He said with heavy respect.
The villain revealed to be Tomura faced the mist villain. ''Kurogiri…have you killed Thirteen?''
The warp villain hesitated, before answering. ''She's incapacitated, but that's not the only thing." He paused again at his leader's frown. "And one of the children escaped and went to call for the pros.''
With a growl, Tomura began scratching his neck. ''If you weren't our ticket out of here I'd kill you on the spot!'' He let out a huff before he slowly stopped scratching. ''Fortunately for you, we sent over a dozen decoys all over the city, it will take some time before any pros arrive.'' He said in a somewhat calm tone.
''But before that.'' He turned to Nomu who was still holding Aizawa down, patiently waiting for his master's command. ''Nomu.'' The creature turned his head. ''Put him flat on his back.'' He commanded with a wicked grin.
The creature complied and placed the unconscious hero flat on his back. The latter mentioned was too injured to move and even if he erased the creature's quirk, the monster was still unnaturally strong without it.
''It's time to set an example.'' Tomura looked at the students who were rooted under his gaze. ''Let's show these kids what happens when they play hero.'' He cackled.
The students were all screaming for Aizawa to get up but to no avail. Some even wanted to jump in there and save him but were too scared to move.
''Nomu." The monster growled and looked at his master. "CRUSH HIM!'' Tomura ordered with manic glee.
The creature raised its hands before bringing them down in a quick swing, causing a large cloud of dust and a massive shockwave that could be felt throughout the whole facility.
USJ GROUNDS-STAIRS
The students were horrified by what they saw. Some felt like throwing up while others couldn't believe it. A well-experienced pro had just been helplessly crushed by a monster like he was nothing but a bug.
''N-No.'' Ochako despaired as she fell to her knees.
''H-He's...'' Sato looked away, feeling sickened.
Tsuyu covered her mouth with both hands as she stared with wide eyes. "I-It can't be…" It was like something out of a nightmare.
''T-This is bad!'' Mina cried while trying to keep it together. ''There has to be something that we can…'' She trailed off when she turned to her right and saw Aizawa's injured body lying there. ''Sensei!'' She screamed as she went over to help the fallen teacher. The other students snapped out of their grief and rushed to his side.
''But how is this possible?'' Sero knelt by the pro and produced tape for the wounds while his classmates couldn't respond as they had no real answer to this miracle.
While they were treating the wounded pro, Ochako noticed someone missing. ''Where's Deku?''
''He was right beside me...'' Mina trailed off. ''...before Aizawa showed up.'' She let out a gasp as realization dawned on her.
Everyone's eyes widened, coming to the same conclusion. They then rushed to the edge of the stairs while taking care of the injured pros, to confirm their suspicions.
USJ GROUNDS-BACK AT THE PLAZA
Tomura Shigaraki was stunned.
When the dust cleared, he was expecting to see the pro splattered across the ground and the students to cry out in anguish as they gazed at their teacher's remains.
He also expected a tough fight and a very dead All Might by the end of the day. And a huge celebration back at their lair to top it all off.
But what he didn't expect was to see no sign of Eraserhead and Nomu's arms stuck to the ground while trying to free himself.
''Heya.''
Looking towards the origin of the voice he was met with a strange sight.
Standing in front of the stairs is a teen wearing a green hoodie with his hands in his pockets. And from what Shigaraki could tell, he didn't have anything special on him.
Now normally, any villain would ignore this but Shigaraki thought differently, the fact that the teen had a calm appearance made the villain eye him warily.
But apart from being alert, Shigaraki was angry from seeing the grin. That smile, that damned smile reminded him of All Might.
With that angry thought he called out. ''Nomu! Get back here!'' After destroying the ground to free his arms, the beast complied and stood beside him.
Tomura then turned to Kurogiri who was also confused with the teen's appearance and casualness. ''Kuro-" The warp villain was suddenly covered in a green glow before being slammed face-first on the ground, damaging the floor and knocking him out.
With wide eyes, Tomura turned and saw that the teen had a hand stretched out with his eyes glowing in intensity, though still appeared to be calm.
After putting his hand back in his pocket, Izuku looked up, confusing Tomura. Following his gaze, he saw that the young hero was looking through the skylight where the clear blue sky and large white clouds could be seen.
Thinking that the teen must be stalling for time, Tomura was about to give Nomu the kill order until Izuku spoke. ''You know...'' The villain gave him his full attention. ''It's a beautiful day outside.'' Not expecting the comment, the villain gave him a curious look.
With a grin, Izuku faced the villain again with his eyes closed. ''Birds are singing, flowers are blooming…and on days like these...villains like you...'' He trailed off before opening his eyes, revealing that his scleras were now black and the only thing that you could see was the intense glow of his emerald eyes. ''Should be rotting in a cell.'' He said in an eerily calm voice.
Tomura Shigaraki didn't know why, but he had a nagging feeling at the back of his head as he stared at the teen.
A feeling that he was going to have a bad time…
