"Yes," Ghost King Xicai thought and said: "This Triple Layer of Suffering can actually be applied separately. Heart, body, spirit each correspond to the cultivator's Dao-heart, physical body, and Primordial Spirit. Applying separately only damages one part. To cultivators, it might cause disorder of the Dao-heart, ruin to the physical body, or extinction of the Primordial Spirit; with the Primordial Spirit being the most severe, for once it's destroyed, one becomes a walking corpse."
"A single layer of suffering won't nourish any Essence; it's purely a Curse Killing Method. Only by layering the Triple Suffering and enduring it can the cultivator bear fruit. The threshold for succeeding in the method of extracting the Primordial Spirit is so high that almost no one can succeed, except it requires little information from the subject, which eventually makes it a Curse Killing Method."
