The Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War is located on the right bank of the Dnieper River, south of the city centre in the Pechersk district. Today, a huge object was covered by cloth, and citizens not only from Kyiv but from every part of the Union were assembling and ready to watch its final face.
Many saw part of it when it was still under construction, yet everyone wants to know its final appearance. Amidst a round of applause, Andropov and Shcherbytsky appeared in the public eye. Shcherbytsky made a gesture and invited him to the podium.
After getting to the podium, Andropov did not speak much nonsense and got straight to the point.
"To all the patriots of the Soviet Union, today, is an exciting and honour day, not only because of the great monument behind me that our glorious workers have made, but also another exciting news that our beloved Red Army has brought back!"
As soon as he finished saying this, the audience was already excited, eager to know the latest news.
"I believe some of you already know about it, but I will be officially declaring it here. 6 hours ago, Marhsal Orgarkov sent back me the message, that the King of the Orcs Kingdom, Skolm, had been killed by our Spetznaz. Our army then decided to continue our advance, and 2 hours before, he sent another news, the Red Army has annihilated the last remnants of the enemy's resistance and liberated all Elven territory."
Another round of applause from the audience.
"This is a complete and decisive victory. A victory not only of arms, but of the ideals of internationalism, justice, and proletarian solidarity."
"On this most symbolic day, so close to the anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, we unveil this monument, 'The Mother Motherland', as both a tribute to our past and a promise to our future. Let her stand tall above Kyiv, as our Soviet banner shall stand tall across the world."
The cloth that cover has been pulled off, showed the real faces of the monument.
People finally see the final product of this construction. The statue depicts a stern-faced woman holding aloft a long sword in her right hand and a shield in her left, emblazoned with the Soviet hammer and sickle.
Its imposing figure rises 102 meters above the city skyline. Cast in stainless steel, the stern-faced woman representing the motherland, holding aloft a 16-meter-long sword and a 13-by-8-meter shield.
This monument opening ceremony was supposed to be held on 9 May 1981 in the original history, but now has been delayed to the middle of November due to the preparation of war and also delayed progress.
The statue alone measures 62 meters tall and stands atop a 40-meter-high museum building, giving it a commanding presence over the Dnieper River. The sword, originally even taller, was shortened to remain lower than the nearby Kyiv Pechersk Lavra's bell tower out of respect for religious sensitivities. Of course, some say that it was done to resolve aerodynamic problems identified during wind tunnel testing by specialists from Moscow.
Regardless of how this is another monument that reflects the monumental ambition of Soviet-era architecture and ideology.
However, there is something people found that is more surprising than the magnificence of the statue. On the shield and sword, there is a red light on it, sometimes even thunder flashing between the red light. Of course, the red light on the Soviet hammer and sickle was the strongest. No one knows what it means, only those who design and duplicate the whole magical system from Plainspire.
On the same day, Mamayev Kurgan, located in Volgograd, more famously known as Stalingrad. The monument 'The Motherland Call' that was built on it, was announced to be undergoing repairs by the authorities a few weeks ago and blocked the whole monument. Until today, citizens have only noticed the changes. The sword that was held by the motherland also appeared with a thunder-flashing red light.
Similar action was held all around the country, especially in Moscow, where it conducting the most. Almost every momentum and building that was high enough was announced to be repaired a few weeks ago and showed its face today. The monument of Yuri Gagarin, Moscow State University, and even the Kremlin, have all undergoing repair for weeks, and now show in thunder flashing between the red light in either the stickle and hammer, stars, or other parts.
Even with these, the Soviet authority seems not satisfied, in Kubinka, a small city on the outskirts of Moscow, which was also the Soviet Union's tank testing grounds, is having a new construction now.
After the country was transferred here, even the Red Army gained victory again and again, consolidating people's faith in socialism. Many atheists where the Soviets have been propaganda for tens of years, have put their belief to the Orthodox as well. Not only the civilians but also many soldiers in the army. Many things that were proven to be not real have now appeared in front of them, and science is not able to explain them.
So the Soviet Politburo decided to unite everything they could, and they approved the construction plan for building another church, and named it as 'Main Cathedral of the Red Army'.
A few years of war helped the Soviet Union filter talent, a young man who had just graduated a few years ago had been chosen as one of the operation executives, his name was Sergei Shoigu.

One week later, Chernov returned to Moscow.
"Congratulations, Comrade Chernov, perhaps I should call you General Chernov." Nikolai Tikhonov, the new KGB chairman said.
