The giant demon trembled in terror as Misaki stood calmly untop of its head, her crimson eyes piercing straight into its soul.
"Move a muscle,I dare you." she said coldly.
The demon froze, paralyzed by shock and fear. Due to the shock and fear it felt, it's finger twitched.
In less than a heartbeat, Misaki's fist smashed into its skull. The entire void shook with the force of her punch, shockwaves splitting the darkness filled with oceans and mountains of blood.
Alex's jaw dropped, his mouth wide open.
"She didn't even waste a second!!" he muttered, horrified. "Moms are terrifying…"
Climbing down from the demon's head, Misaki brushed her hands together as if swatting away dust.
"Be a good boy and don't try anything foolish.", she said in a straight forward manner.
But the demon wasn't finished. With a roar of desperation, it raised its massive claws to slash her apart "NOW YOU'VE DONE IT!", it yelled.
Misaki turned her head slightly, her expression colder than ice.
A flash of red light—then silence.
The demon's arm burst apart in an explosion.
Before it could even process what happened, Alex joined in, he was in the air charging up a massive amount of energy. His eyes glowed crimson as countless Blades of Death formed around him, he immediately started to fire them at rapid fire towards his inner demon.
The demon screamed in pain as each blade tore into its body, the barrage relentless and impossibly fast. As each blade of death fell down like rain, they were causing massive explosions of red energy all over the void.
"What is this?!" it screamed in disbelief. "His speed—his power—it's increased tenfold! And with Misaki holding me down, I can't even move!"
The demon looked up once again and was shocked to see what it had seen. Alex gathered every ounce of his demonic power into one colossal blade, pulsing with destructive energy "Alright, it's about damn time we actually finished this fight!", he exclaimed.
"Ultimate Blade of Death: Hyper Burst!!"
He hurled it down with a roar. The void erupted in a blinding explosion, the shockwave swallowing everything in seconds.
When the smoke cleared, the demon lay motionless on the ground, it's body was burned up, it had been defeated.
Alex's glowing form faded, returning him to his norma base state. He sighed, exhausted.
"It's… finally over.", Alex muttered to himself.
But before he could collapse, Misaki rushed to him, her face glowing with pride. She hugged him tightly, nearly crushing him in her arms.
"Oh, my baby boy! You've grown up so strong! I'm so proud of you!", she said with joys and excitement.
"M-Mom—!" Alex gasped, "I-I'm happy you're proud, but… let go! You're squeezing me to death!"
Misaki blinked, then laughed shyly, loosening her grip.
"Sorry, Alex. I just couldn't help myself… I wanted to embrace you a little longer."
The battlefield began to change. The bloodstained void dissolved, transforming into a radiant plain of white flowers under a clear white sky.
Alex looked around, stunned.
"This place… it's beautiful."
Misaki smiled softly.
"You like it? There used to be a place like this in the living world. White flowers where all over the place, the breeze was calm too. Kazuma and I used to come here often, back when we were still alive."
Alex's eyes brightened.
"You mean Dad? Wow… sounds like you two had a wonderful life together."
"Of course we did," Misaki replied warmly. "But do you know what would have made it perfect? If we could have lived in a big house together. You, me, and Kazuma. A family under one roof… that was my dream."
Alex's chest ached with bittersweet longing.
"…Mom, i wanna ask you something. Is it true that Dad was once a lord? Grandpa and Kojin never told me much about either of you so i didn't know what to expect."
Misaki's expression softened.
"Yes. Kazuma was the Lord of the Demon Country —despite being a spirit. His strength was incredible at the time, he was so cool that other countries wanted him to be a lord of their nations as well. But he wasn't just powerful… he was kind. He was smart and always kept others before himself. That's why I loved him alot."
She chuckled faintly, her eyes glazing with nostalgia.
"I remember when we were young… we trained under Ranpo. Kazuma, Yuji, and I, along with the rest of our friends. Back then, we were just kids who found ourselves in the craziest situations."
"Yuji?" Alex tilted his head.
"A dear friend," Misaki explained. "Yuji and Kazuma were like brothers. But… Yuji died a month before Kazuma and I did. He already had two children. He adopted one tho, I think his name was Shinki, and threw other one was his actual kid, but I can't recall the boy's name. Kazu...? Kazuro?"
Alex was a bit shocked at the mention of Shinki.
"Shinki…? Wait a minute, is she talking about the one from the Dark Sign…?" he thought to himself.
His voice trembled as he asked, "Mom… how did you and Dad die?"
Misaki's smile faded, replaced by a deep sorrow. Her crimson eyes dimmed as memories flooded back.
Her voice was heavy when she spoke.
"Kazuma and I… died protecting the demon country. From a man who called himself… no, not a man. A god. The God of War and Chaos… Zodia."
The air grew heavy. The flowers around them wilted just from the mention of the name alone.
Alex's heart pounded as Misaki's tone turned serious.
"What I'm about to tell you," she said firmly, "is the story of how the Demon Clan was destroyed. The story of how your father and I lost our lives. And the story of how you became the child destined to grow strong enough to save this world from threats beyond imagination."
Her crimson eyes locked straight at his.
"Alex, you've got to listen carefully. This might sound crazy, but the fate of the world depends on you."
