Osamu POV
2 months passed after officially becoming Genins.
We did nothing but D ranks missions back to back!
4 missions a week's with 1 day rest interval.
In two months we finished 36 D-ranks in total but besides that he also thought us the basic chakra control which all of us didn't have a problem accomplishing within a week. I already mastered it long ago anyway.

And now we are having a meeting as Kakashi called for us during our rest interval.
"I know this will be sudden, but I already believe that you guys are ready." Kakashi said.
"We are? It's only been a 2 months sensei." Shintaro asked.
"what are you guys talking about? Ready for what?" Shoto asked.
"Probably the Chunin exam. Right?" I answered to which Kakashi nodded.
"Sigh, when and where is it going to be held, sensei?" Shintaro asked.
"3 months from now. Sunagakure."
"I want to go, but I won't force you guys if you don't want to." I immediately voiced out.
"It's bothersome, but we will go too. Right, Shoto?" The bug boy nodded
"Good, you can't participate individually anyway."
"Why am I not surprised? Does the test to become Jonin also have the same condition where all 3 of us needs to work together?" I asked.
"No, I will not explain it now since you will know that in the future. For now, we are taking as much C-ranks missions as possible in 1 month. Then the remaining 2 months will be your preparations for the exam."
He leads us to mission assignment desk area where we normally accept missions.
On our first official mission the Hokage was personally giving it to us. Only in the latter missions was the Hokage rarely around. And it seems this is one of those rare times.
"So, you believe they are ready for a higher rank mission?" Hiruzen asked.
"Yes, Hokage -sama"
Hiruzen stared at us one by one as he inhaled smoke from his pipe and breathed out.
"Very well, I have just the perfect mission for your team. It is an elimination of bandits request by a village. There's a group of bandits nested in the forest near them and would often strike the merchants coming to their village."
"We accept this mission, Hokage-sama." Kakashi immediately agreed.

Few hours later
Konoha Gate
"Are you all ready?" Kakashi asked.
We all nodded.
"Alright, Shoto will investigate with his insects first once we are in distance to make sure none of them escape. Let's go."
We immediately set off and it didn't take long for us to find them. This would be my first time killing, I don't know about Shintaro and Shoto, but I am feeling nervous.
Will I be able to stomach it? I couldn't even look at a corpse inside a coffin for a long time before getting scared so I can only imagine what my reaction will be once I kill someone with my hands.
As soon as we stopped a distance from the supposed hide-out, Shoto got to work. Then I felt a hand pressed on my shoulder, I turned and saw Kakashi looking at me seriously.
"It's okay to be nervous. This will be your first time right?" I nodded. I can actually feel my heart beating harder.
"What do I need to do? I don't want to be dead weight." I asked.
"It will only affect you on your first time. In a while you get used to it. Just always remember the reason why your doing it. If your doing it for a good reason then the guilt lessen. For example, would you let this bandits harm what is precious to you?"
As soon as he said those words, my fear of killing immediately plummets.
"Know that the people you are about to take the life of had bloods on their hands. They are scum and doesn't deserve to be called people but monsters."
"I understand Kakashi-sensei. I will not let them harm what is important to me." He nodded at that.
"There a total of 20 bandits inside the cave. 2 guards on the entrance and 5 roaming around. There are also women in cages, judging by their current appearance and screams, it is obvious what they had done and doing to them." Just hearing Shoto say it unexpectedly sends emotions to me.
I deem my family the only precious thing to me. Other things can burn for all I care. Yet what is this now? I feel angry for the fate of those women?
In my last life, that's how it has been. The only thing Important to me were my family.
The poor, homeless, parentless, struggling sick people, depressed individuals nor the corrupt country does not matter to me.
As long as my family members are okay, then everything is okay.
That's also how I feel ever since coming to this world. Ever since having new family members.
Yet now, I can't deny this feeling. It's a wake up call. I am not living in a story. I am not in a fanfiction. This is real life. I will really die here if someone kills me.
I know the feeling of dying, specifically death by drowning. I don't want to experience that again.
"I will take care of the 5 outside. All of you can take care of the guards in the entrance and those inside right?" We all nodded.
"Then, let's go."
Being a student of Hatake Kakashi, gives us the benefits of learning shunshin and many assassination tactics. Although not as fast as our sensei, we can give the Genins a run for their money.
So like a blur my teammates make quick work of the 2 guards and we immediately went inside.
As soon as we were inside I could hear the screams of women being raped. The laughter of bastards enjoying their actions.
"Those fuckers are mine." I declared with gritted teeth.
"Don't let your emotions cloud your judgement. We will provide you cover and support. This is not our first kill after all." Shintaro replied and started his jutsu.
Meanwhile Shoto used his kikaichu and targeted those further away from Shintaro's shadow.
I immediately pulled a kunai and started slicing the necks of those who can't move due to Shintaro 's jutsu.

I counted the blood and bodies falling while ignoring the growing uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. I only stopped when I reached 12 while Shoto killed 8 of them.
The rest was probably alerted as they began shouting and soon came out with weapons.
5 men came out shirtless and sweaty each of them holding bloodied blades.
Seeing this, understanding came to me as I no longer hear any scream.
'Shuchu State!' true to my guess, I don't feel any breathing from their bodies as I used my enhanced perception sensing the women Shoto talked about earlier.
Grinding my teeth in anger I wove the hand signs for my newly developed Jutsu.
"Horror Genjutsu."
"Nightmare Series: Chucky!"
As soon as I did that, the 5 of them started screaming and running around then crawled seemingly trying to get away from something.
My two companions didn't say anything or asked me what jutsu I did, I think the name of the jutsu which starts nightmare Is enough clue why the bandits are acting the way they are acting right now.
Imagine having seen your members of your groups killed by a doll then said doll was now chasing you while laughing maniacally and starts stabbing parts of your body?
I let them be since there's 5 more coming out. Each one armed like the one before them. Why didn't they just came out together? Hmm!?
I see. Shintaro and Shoto became vigilant. The remaining 5 seems to be the leaders since they all have genin chakra levels.
Must be drop outs from academy when they were young. Either from Konoha itself or other hidden villages.
"What the hell are doing screaming around like idiots?" Asked one of them.
"They must be under a Genjutsu. Those are konoha Shinobi kids. Luckily, there seems to be no adults." Answered another.
I didn't wait for them any longer as I sprinted towards them, Kunai in hand.
Kekaichus of Shoto joined me as well as Shintaro's shadow tendrels which are produced due to the lighting inside the cave.
The bandits were startled and came towards me avoiding the insects from my right and the shadow tendrils in my left.
2 tried to cut me with their blades but it all cut nothing but air. My shuchu state is still on so it was easy evading them while slicing their necks as efficiently as possible while the remaining 3, two of which is being devoured by insects while the other one was rendered unable to move.
Despite having Genin level chakra, I guess they didn't know any jutsus.
I sliced the neck of the last one then turned towards the remaining 5 who were still screaming. Tears coming out their eyes as they pissed themselves.
We went out of the cave after I placed exploding tags in their heads.
"So, how was it?" Kakashi asked, probably towards me by the look his giving. Shintaro and Shoto were totally unaffected by the kills we just did.
I didn't answer and lifted my right hand in hand sign.
Boom!!! 5 simultaneous explosion was heard inside the cave.
Once I was done, I let go of what I've been ignoring and holding back.
"Bleugh!!!"
I vomitted my breakfast as tears escaped my eyes, disbelief to what I just did, shaking hands from emotions built up, regret that I did something wrong and disgusted at myself for being a killer.
The last two are probably because I still retained my modern thinking. I was once again reminded, this is not fantasy, this is not a dream, this is my reality!
"I had to kill them, I had to. It was the right thing to do." I whispered to comfort myself.

1 month later
Besides killing bandits, we also received missions as bodyguards for merchants,we rarely had to fight shinobis from other village and if we did, they were simply easily handled with Kakashi sensei's help.
Shintaro's jutsu was handy in defense and Shoto's insects gave us time to prepare when there were ambushes laid ahead of us.
We are currently on our way back. Once we've reported the mission successfully and received the rewards, it will be 2 months of training next.

Kakashi gathered us after reporting to the Hokage the success of the mission.
"We will postpone taking missions for now. Shintaro and Shoto focus on your clan techniques during these 2 months. We will meet again in 3 days before the exam."
"What about me?" I asked while pointing at myself.
"I will train you myself." ohhh that's awesome!
"Now I kinda feel jealous." Shintaro joked.
"Heh, it has always been me who was jealous with the both of you since you both have special jutsus from your clan. But now? I guess the world really is like a wheel, my time below has passed and now its time to be on top! Hahahaha" I declared while pointing at the sky.
But when I looked down Shintaro and Shoto were already walking away while Kakashi looked at me with a deadpanned expression.
"Get back here you pricks!" Kakashi held me while I try my best to get them and have them a taste of my Genjutsu.
"I developed a torture Genjutsu lately, which would be perfect! Get your hands off me Kakashi-sensei, I need to test it. It's called The Nun!"
But Kakashi was just too strong for me.
"While I am sure it'll be something like your nightmare series: Chucky and The grudge which you have used on bandits. You need to let it go kid, you can use those to your enemies in the exam instead." That's actually not a bad idea. Should I try Freddy? Or maybe Aliens?

Training Montage
Our training surprisingly started about Nature and Shape manipulation.
Kakashi sensei had me test my affinity using the chakra papers.
Once I put my chakra in them, it first wrinkled and turned wet. Indicating my nature affinity towards lightning and water.
I have civilian roots but possess 2 nature transformation! Take that!
You can probably guess the course of my training right?
Taijutsu and Chidori!
I was pitted against the mighty blue beast himself since Lee was still an academy student.
One week of torture from Gai with 3 days of rest. Then ninjutsu training with Kakashi the following week, no rest at all!!
All he told me was that because I can only perform chidori once and have to recover my chakra, there was no point in resting and that with this, I will accelerate the increase of my reserves!
It took me 4 days to properly produce deadly lightning from my hands. It's a double edge blade for me right now since it consumes almost all of my chakra in one use. I would need to use it only when I'm sure there won't be any surprises afterwards.
My frequent spar with Gai let me call him Gai sensei which then motivated him to teach me 2 of his Taijutsu signatures.
Konoha whirlwind and Initial Lotus. Both of which took me 1 month to learn and a week to be able to use it. Using physical energy boosts the jutsu's power output.
Besides Chidori, I also asked Kakashi to teach me the shadow clone to which he denied and will only teach it to me once my reserves achieve a certain level.
And that level is for me to have mid- level Chunin chakra. It's a B-rank ninjutsu after all.
I didn't advance further in Medical Ninjutsu and Sealing Arts due to all of this and stayed a beginner.
Only Ninjutsu from Kakashi-sensei, Taijutsu from Gai-sensei and Genjutsu from my self study. Fusing my old knowledge from modern times, Casting Genjutsu actually doesn't just requires a lot of Spiritual energy and control but also, Imagination.
And my imagination has a lot of movies, tv series, anime and more hehehe...
And so, almost 2 months passed in a blink of an eye and we were called to gather.
