Chapter 508 - Chapter 508: Sidebar

[Third Person Pov]

The next morning Peter lay on his back, one arm wrapped around Felicia's shoulders, the other securely held on to thigh. She clung to him like a second skin, her lithe body molded against his side, one leg thrown possessively over both of his. The thin blanket had slipped down to their hips during the night, leaving the elegant curve of her back and the swell of her hips bare to the cool morning air.

Felicia's cheek rested on his chest, her soft hair fanned out in a silken mess. A faint trail of drool glistened at the corner of her mouth, and her breathing was deep and even—completely, thoroughly knocked out. Whatever they had done the night before had wrung every last ounce of energy from her. Peter's free hand idly traced slow circles along the small of her back, feeling the residual warmth of her skin and the faint, pleasant ache in his own muscles that spoke of just how thoroughly they had worn each other out.

It took a long while for either of them to surface from sleep. When Felicia finally stirred, she did so with a full-body stretch that arched her spine like a cat's. Her arms reached high above her head, toes pointing, every muscle pulling taut. A low, throaty grunting noise escaped her as her entire body started to shake and spasm, shaking out the last remnants of sleep.

Peter's lips curved into a quiet chuckle. He watched her through half-lidded eyes, amusement dancing in the brown depths.

"Looks like someone had a great sleep."

Felicia's eyes fluttered open, still hazy with residual pleasure. A shameless, satisfied grin spread across her face.

"Absolutely. Nothing beats sleeping after being thoroughly dicked down by a massive cock." She punctuated the statement with a soft, playful *Nyah~* as she stretched once more, rolling her shoulders and letting the blanket slip even lower.

Peter's expression flattened into a perfect deadpan. "Okay." He said in a casual monotone as that was not what he wanted to hear so early in the morning.

He gave her a firm, affectionate pat on the curve of her ass and gently urged her to move.

"Come on. We have a lot to do today."

"Ughhh! Don't remind me!" Felicia groaned dramatically, flopping back onto her pillow and burying her face in it for a second, bringing her blanket up to cover her completely. "It's near the end of summer vacation and all we've been is busy. Busy, busy, busy."

Peter's face shifted into an over-the-top serious expression, "Come on now. We have a world to save." He said in an exaggerated deep voice.

Felicia hummed thoughtfully, the sound lazy and sultry. With deliberate slowness she lowered the blanket further, revealing the soft, perky curves of her breasts. Her nipples tightened in the cooler air. She arched a brow at him, lips curling into an encouraging, mischievous grin.

"Or… hear me out… different idea. We could waste a few more minutes."

Peter's gaze dropped to the rose-tipped peaks of her breasts, then climbed slowly back up to her suggestive expression. He placed a thoughtful finger against his chin. In the next instant h transformed into a Jojo character with an overly detailed expression.

"The world can wait a few minutes," he declared with theatrical gravitas. "It's not like it's going to explode this second."

Then he dove.

With exaggerated enthusiasm Peter buried his face between her breasts and motorboated her with ridiculous, noisy gusto. Felicia let out a mock-startled moan, as if she were being thoroughly ravaged.

"Ahhh~!"

Laughter and playful struggle filled the room for several more minutes before responsibility finally won out.

—

By the time they arrived at the base, everyone else was already dressed for business. Super-suits were on, weapons and gear checked, expressions serious. Felicia stood directly behind Peter, her face pressed against the solid plane of his back, eyes closed, gloved hands resting lightly against his pecs as though she were still half-asleep and using him as a personal pillow.

A shimmering portal bloomed open in the center of the room. Aria stepped through first, followed closely by the towering figure of Thor. The God of Thunder had deliberately requested to join their information-gathering session with the Fantastic Four; he wanted to know everything possible about the vile villain bold enough to steal Mjolnir.

Thor looked around the spacious headquarters with open appreciation, golden hair catching the light.

"A spacious home you have here, Man-Spider."

Peter's mouth twitched with barely suppressed amusement.

"Dude, just say Spider-Man. It's not that hard—just switch the words around."

Thor frowned in genuine confusion.

"Is that not what I said?"

Peter patted the Asgardian's broad shoulder with fond resignation.

"Sure thing, buddy. Sure thing. Anyway, I'll give you a proper tour once everything's settled."

He cleared his throat, raised his voice, and pointed dramatically toward the exit.

"Alright then, comrades! Onward to the Baxter Building!"

—

The moment they stepped into the Baxter Building's main lounge, a streak of living flame shot across the room at high speed.

"Peter! Just the best buddy I wanted to see!!"

Johnny Storm tackled Peter in a fiery hug that sent them both skidding across the polished floor. Peter recovered almost instantly, grabbing the Human Torch by his flaming head and hoisting him into the air with one hand while Johnny kicked and flailed like an overgrown toddler.

"Johnny, you son of a bitch—I thought I warned you all I was bringing a guest!"

Thor watched the chaotic scene with mild bewilderment.

"Who is this, Peter?"

Gwen pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed, the sound long-suffering.

"Ignore him, please."

Johnny, still dangling, waved his arms frantically.

"Arghh! Mercy! Mercy!"

Peter's free hand flexed. Razor-sharp claws slid free with a soft metallic snickt.

"I'll show you mercy," he said, voice dropping into a theatrical growl. "The mercy of death. I thought I made it clear that when I'm in uniform you call me Spider-Man—or any close variation of the name."

Johnny's flames abruptly snuffed out. He stared up at Peter with exaggerated teary eyes.

"I was just really happy to see my best friend…"

From the side of the room Harry's eyes narrowed sharply as he felt that his position was being threatened. "Oi!"

Lizzy crossed her arms and fixed Harry with a sharp, suspicious stare, one eyebrow arched high.

"You know, I think I've seen you fight over—and get jealous about—being Spidey's best friend more often than I've ever seen you get jealous over me."

Harry draped an arm around her shoulders with casual confidence, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.

"That's simply because a girlfriend is temporary. A best friend is for life."

"Excuse me?!" Lizzy's voice rose in pure indignation, her eyes widening as she twisted under his arm to glare up at him.

Before the argument could escalate further, the soft hiss of a door sliding open drew every eye in the room.

Reed Richards walked in.

Everyone froze.

Conversations died mid-sentence. Johnny stopped struggling in Peter's grip. Even Thor's golden brows rose in mild curiosity. Reed's head was enormous—comically, disproportionately huge, bobbing atop his otherwise normal shoulders like a balloon on a string. The sheer absurdity of it left the entire group staring in collective, speechless dumbfoundedness.

A second later Ben Grimm and Susan Storm appeared almost simultaneously. Ben lumbered in with his usual rocky bulk, while Susan flickered into view as nothing more than a walking, talking skeleton of pure white bone, her invisible flesh still phased out of sight.

Thor surveyed the bizarre assemblage of heroes before him and, to his own mild surprise, felt a strange sense of belonging amid the strangeness.

"What a bizarre assortment of individuals," he rumbled, unable to keep the observation to himself.

Susan's skeletal form shimmered, flesh and clothing rapidly reappearing as she became fully visible again.

"Oops—sorry about that," she said with an embarrassed little laugh, brushing imaginary dust from her sleeves. "I was practicing."

At the same moment Reed's oversized head slowly deflated with a soft, rubbery *fwump*, returning to its usual proportions. Ben simply stood there, unchanged and unimpressed, rocky arms crossed over his massive chest.

His stony gaze shifted from Johnny—still dangling in Peter's grasp—to Peter himself.

"I don't know what it is that he did," Ben growled, "but you have my permission to clobber him."

"Oi! Nobody asked you, Landslide!" Johnny loudly exclaimed, glaring at Ben for not minding his own business.

Thor's eyes lit with fascination as he studied Ben's rocky form.

"To think I would encounter a golem in Midgard… This realm is full of so many wonders yet to be explored."

"A golem?!" Ben's rocky brow furrowed in offense, the gravelly tone of his voice rising.

Gwen stepped forward quickly, hands raised in a placating gesture before the situation could spiral.

"He's not being rude," she interjected smoothly. "This right here is Thor—as in the actual Norse God of Thunder."

Susan and Reed exchanged identical looks of open skepticism.

"Is this a prank?" Susan asked, eyeing the tall, Asgardian with clear doubt. Reed's expression mirrored hers exactly.

While the rest of the group launched into a rapid-fire round of introductions and increasingly emphatic assurances that yes, the handsome blond man was in fact the genuine article, Peter and Johnny drifted a few steps away for a private sidebar.

Peter finally set Johnny back on his feet, eyes narrowing.

"Out with it," he said flatly. "What do you want?"

Johnny smoothed his collar with exaggerated innocence, avoiding eye contact.

"What makes you think I want something? Couldn't I just be happy to see you?"

Peter's glare intensified.

"You're lucky I don't punch your teeth out for the stunt you just pulled. So don't play with me, mister."

Johnny's lips pursed into a pout.

"You're no fun," he grumbled. One more sharp look from Peter made him clear his throat and straighten up. "Okay, fine. I got a date planned with the beautiful Madam Rogue, and I need your help with a gift—"

Peter had already turned on his heel and started walking away.

"Wait—wait—wait!" Johnny scrambled to block his path, hands raised. "I know how this sounds, but trust me, this is important. I want to give her something that lets her control her powers. I tried asking Reed, but he doesn't know much about mutants. You're friends with them—you're more familiar with how their abilities work."

He pressed his palms together in a pleading gesture, eyes wide and earnest.

"You're the only other person I know who can help me here."

Peter rubbed the back of his neck and exhaled a long-suffering sigh.

"I'm familiar with Rogue's powers, yeah. And I've already created something that interferes with mutant abilities. I suppose I can workshop it into a bracelet or a necklace for you."

Johnny's eyes instantly went teary. He lunged forward and wrapped Peter in a tight, grateful hug.

"I love you, man. You're the best, you know that?"

"Get off me, dude." Peter shoved him away with a roll of his eyes, though the corner of his mouth twitched upward despite himself.

Johnny recovered quickly, flashing a bright grin.

"Why don't you join us? Make it a double date."

"Seriously? We're currently in the middle of something," Peter declined politely.

"It's this weekend. At least think about it," Johnny pressed, still smiling.

"Fine, fine. I'll think about it." Peter waved him off and turned back toward the larger group just as Reed's voice cut through the chatter.

"So what's with the sudden meeting?" Reed asked, looking over the assembled heroes with renewed focus now that his head had returned to normal size.

Peter stepped forward to rejoin the others, expression turning serious.

"Victor von Doom," he said clearly. "Have you heard of him?"

Both Ben and Reed's faces darkened at once. Reed's features settled into a grave, contemplative frown.

"Now that's a name I honestly didn't expect to hear anytime soon," he murmured, "and especially not from your mouth."
