Chapter 404 - Chapter 404: The Juggernaut Bitch! (3)

[Third Person Pov]

"Since physical force doesn't seem to be the answer, let's try some magic!" Peter shouted.

Because of the warped geometry of the Mirror Dimension, the buildings around him folded and twisted at impossible angles. What should have been a straight, vertical wall of brick suddenly became a narrow sideways corridor, and Peter sprinted along it. Windows blurred past him, reflections fracturing endlessly as the world bent inward on itself.

He kicked off the wall and leapt down, immediately feeling the axis of reality shift beneath his feet. Up became sideways, sideways became forward, and in the span of a heartbeat Peter was swinging through the air, web-lines snapping taut as he arced right alongside Storm. Without wasting breath, he pushed the plan through their psychic link—clear, fast, and precise.

Storm gave a sharp nod in response and surged ahead, increasing her flight speed. Wind screamed around her as she rocketed skyward, positioning herself directly above the Juggernaut. Her eyes ignited with crackling electricity, glowing white-blue as she raised her hands and began weaving intricate patterns through the air.

Above her, the sky answered.

A massive storm cloud manifested out of nothing, thick and churning, its dark mass rolling in tight spirals. It expanded rapidly, blotting out the distorted skyline and plunging the area into shadow. Thunder rumbled deep within it, the sound heavy and ominous, as if the storm itself were drawing breath.

Peter slingshotted himself straight into the heart of the cloud, his webs yanking him forward at blistering speed. He jumped straight into the storm cloud and started to assimilate into the storm until he became its living focal point. Lightning danced along his limbs, wrapping around him like coiling serpents.

Using the same familiar hand motions he used when swinging through the city, Peter called forth a spell. The lightning around him bent inward, obeying his will as raw power surged into his body. He grit his teeth as he absorbed it, converting the volatile energy into chi that burned hot beneath his skin.

With power coursing through every nerve, Peter began weaving his hands in sharp, deliberate motions. Glowing mystic runes formed in the air before him, symbols etched in radiant light. He thrust his palms outward again and again, forcing the runes into the storm cloud itself, carving them into the roiling darkness like sigils branded into living flesh.

The storm changed instantly.

No longer did it produce ordinary thunder and lightning. Instead, arcs of mystic energy crackled through the clouds—unnatural, jagged bolts humming with arcane force, each strike resonating with magical intent.

Below, Felicia was already on the move.

She sprinted toward the Juggernaut with effortless grace, a wide, mischievous grin stretching across her face. "Haven't they ever told you," she called out cheerfully, "that running across a black cat is always bad luck?"

Juggernaut didn't bother dignifying her with a response. He simply swung, a massive fist tearing through the air with enough force to flatten a truck. Felicia leapt straight into his hands, planting a foot against his knuckles and using the momentum to vault high into the air, flipping cleanly over him.

For a brief moment, she was upside down, facing his back.

Her lips began to glow with a shimmering silver light. With exaggerated flair, she slapped a hand to her mouth and blew him a kiss, punctuating it with an over-the-top smacking sound. The gesture transformed midair into a tangible attack, slamming into his back with a flash of energy.

A glowing symbol appeared where it struck—a black cat emblazoned with spider-like legs stretching outward.

"You've been marked by the Spider-Kat," Felicia said as she twisted gracefully and landed behind him. A portal snapped open at her back, swirling with light. She hopped backward through it, flashing her middle finger as she vanished. "Which means you're about to experience a very long string of misfortune!"

Above, the storm cloud roared.

Mystical energy crackled violently as the runes embedded within the clouds flared to life, making the storm wilder and more chaotic. Storm thrust her hands downward, and jagged bolts of enchanted lightning burst free—splitting and branching like enormous spider legs made of pure energy.

Every single bolt curved unerringly toward the Juggernaut.

Not one missed. Not one strayed.

Felicia's mark burned bright, acting like a supernatural lightning rod.

There was a blinding flash of white light, followed by a cataclysmic explosion. The shockwave tore outward, uprooting debris and overturning everything in its path. Buildings shuddered, the Mirror Dimension warping violently under the strain.

The Juggernaut's roar of agony thundered through the chaos, mixing with the shrill ringing left in the wake of the blast.

Moments later, he came stumbling forward out of the smoke. His massive body was encased in a field of snapping static, electricity crawling over his armor and skin. Burn marks scarred his flesh, though they were already healing at a visible pace. Around him, his crimson aura flickered erratically, fluctuating as if struggling to stabilize.

That was when the assault began.

MJ and Gwen swooped in, popping portals open in rapid succession. From one, the Hulk leapt through, swinging a devastating punch before vanishing into another portal an instant later. Red She-Hulk followed suit. Then Colossus. Even Felicia reappeared briefly, striking before disappearing again. Gwen and MJ joined the cycle themselves.

Blows came from every direction.

The Juggernaut was hammered relentlessly, assaulted by constant movement and rapid teleportation. Despite his force field, despite his invulnerability, he could feel the pain piling on, strike after strike battering him without pause.

With a furious roar, Juggernaut finally lashed out.

He grabbed MJ by the torso mid-teleport and slammed a punch into Colossus's face, sending the metal mutant flying straight into Gwen. In the same motion, he swung MJ like a weapon, hurling her into She-Hulk with enough force to crack her jaw audibly.

The Hulk appeared in front of him, fist already extended—but Juggernaut yanked MJ up just in time, using her as a shield. Hulk's punch connected anyway, shattering MJ's suit around her stomach and unleashing a violent surge of kinetic force.

The blast detonated outward, flinging everyone in all directions.

The force was powerful enough to spin the Juggernaut completely around while the rest of the team went tumbling through the air—until they abruptly froze in place.

Jean Grey swooped in, eyes glowing as she caught them all in her telekinetic grip. Slowly, carefully, she lowered MJ to the ground.

MJ curled into herself the moment she touched down, clutching her stomach and gasping for breath.

"Are… are you okay?" Jean asked softly, frozen in place as MJ lay on the ground trembling. For once, the telepath had no idea what she was supposed to do.

MJ whimpered, her body curling in on itself before she slowly raised a shaky thumbs-up. "Never better…" she wheezed, her voice thin and breathless, like the air refused to fully return to her lungs. "Just… just give me a second…"

She sucked in another ragged breath, eyes unfocused as she stared at nothing. "I think I just saw all my past lives flashing before my eyes," MJ muttered weakly. "Any second now, I'll achieve my Avatar State."

"Huh?" Jean blinked, her concern momentarily derailed by confusion.

"He's coming. He'll be here shortly," Harry warned, his voice tight as he glanced toward the shifting skyline of the Mirror Dimension.

"Okay then—let's begin!" Firestar replied without hesitation.

Logan didn't need to be told twice. With a sharp snikt, his adamantium claws slid free from his knuckles, catching the distorted light. Firestar stepped in close, passing her hands over the blades. Instantly, they began to glow red-hot, like metal pulled straight from a forge.

The air around them shimmered and warped from the heat. Logan lifted his claws, watching as golden-red energy crawled along their length, the temperature radiating outward in visible waves.

"Cool~" Logan grinned savagely, admiration gleaming in his eyes as he flexed his fingers. "Real cool."

"He's all yours, Nightwing!" Lizzy shouted.

Harry didn't hesitate. He dropped down, grabbed Logan by the collar and the back of his pants, and hauled him up with a laugh. "I've always wanted to try this!"

He began spinning—faster and faster—Logan dangling like a very angry, very dangerous flail. Green arcs of energy crackled around Harry as he rotated, the air screaming as Fa Jin slowly built within him. Each rotation added more stored power, more kinetic force, until the energy around them howled.

"Ugh—okay—this was fun for about half a second!" Logan groaned, his voice warbling from the centrifugal force. "I think I'm gonna be sick!!"

"Well then let him have it!" Harry shouted.

He became a living cyclone of green energy as he released everything at once, hurling Logan forward like a railgun round.

The moment Logan left Harry's grip, the air exploded.

Arcs of energy burst from Logan's body, dancing wildly along the ground as he tore through the air at lightning speed. His lips flapped uncontrollably from the sheer force of the charge, the friction heating his claws even further. Flames trailed behind him, scorching the path he carved through the dimension.

Burns rapidly spread across his skin, flesh peeling away under the extreme heat and velocity—revealing flashes of adamantium skeleton beneath.

Juggernaut didn't even have time to react.

Logan appeared in front of him in an instant, slamming his claws deep into Juggernaut's body. The force-field was penetrated like a hot knife through butter, and the blades plunged in with sickening ease.

The impact detonated in a violent explosion of force and blood.

Crimson sprayed everywhere.

Lizzy and Harry both flinched hard, staring at one another in pure horror.

"Did… did we kill him?" Lizzy whispered, clapping a hand over her mouth.

"He… he said he could take it," Harry muttered, his voice hollow and uncertain.

What followed made both of them gag.

Logan was nothing but bone and adamantium now—his flesh completely burned away—yet he was still moving. A skeletal hand clung tightly to the screaming, roaring Juggernaut, his bones soaked in blood and gore as regeneration began working overtime.

With a furious snarl, Juggernaut ripped Logan free—only for Logan's muscles and skin to already be crawling back into place midair.

"I'm not done with you yet!" Logan cackled madly.

He slashed forward, carving through Juggernaut's hands, severing fingers with brutal precision. Juggernaut roared as Logan laughed louder, launching himself back in.

"Hahahaha!!" Logan's laughter became feral as he swiped again and again at super speed, his body still burning through the last of the stored kinetic energy.

"What the fuck is he?!" Nightwing yelled in disbelief.

"He's the motherfucking Wolverine!!" Peter's voice echoed through their psychic link, cackling with unrestrained glee.
