The speed at which Atreus awakened his star-forged powers greatly exceeded Li Lin's expectations. Based on his calculations, without the emotional fuel of hatred toward Aatrox or the titanic loathing for gods, it should have taken Atreus several days of unwavering resolve to reignite the War Constellation. Yet, just as in the original timeline, Atreus accomplished it on the same night Pantheon was slain by the God-Slaying Blade.
However, instead of facing the dark entity Aatrox, Atreus found himself confronting Li Lin's band of mechanical soldiers.
The stars above Mount Targon gleamed far brighter than those across the rest of Runeterra. Newly awakened, Atreus bid a quick farewell to Li Lin and Iula before leaping into the skies toward the northeastern stretch of the Targon Range. He sensed a gathering of barbarian raiders preparing to march on the nearest Rakkor settlement.
Initially, Li Lin intended to deploy a battalion of robotic forces to eradicate the raiders, but Atreus declined the assistance, preferring to handle the situation himself. Despite the unrelenting cosmic magic searing his mortal flesh with pain far beyond the endurance of ordinary beings, Atreus considered the suffering worthwhile.
He had once sought power atop Mount Targon, only to discover that true strength had always resided within his own mortal will. This world needed protection—not just from the selfish and deceitful gods but from the ultimate darkness that threatened Runeterra: the Void.
Thanks to Li Lin's influence, Atreus's evolution differed significantly from what it was meant to be.
From the heavens descended a spear that seemed capable of piercing the very stars. Draped in a Nightfall Cloak, donning a Celestial Helm, and wielding the Divine Shield, Atreus landed amidst the marauding barbarians. He struck them down swiftly, preventing their plans of plunder and destruction.
This marked Atreus's first battle since rekindling the godly power of "Pantheon," and it was far easier than he had anticipated.
Following the skirmish, Atreus returned to Iula's farmstead, where Li Lin provided Iula with gene-enhancement serums and vitality boosters. While these could not extend her life, they at least restored her physical vigor, sparing her from the pains of aging, such as aching joints.
Although Atreus still had much to learn, he temporarily declined Li Lin's offer of robotic soldiers or other mechanical sparring partners, choosing instead to roam the Targon region alone to reacquaint himself with this somewhat unfamiliar world. Li Lin respected his decision. At Iula's insistence, he joined them for a meal before departing with Zoe to return to Piltover.
In less than two days, not much had changed in Piltover from Li Lin's perspective. However, for Zoe, it felt completely different. Her last stay in Piltover had been before Li Lin's trip to Demacia, and she had left abruptly, without so much as a farewell note. In the blink of an eye, months had passed.
The city had undergone rapid development, driven by new technologies. While Zaun thrived, Piltover progressed even faster under Li Lin's leadership as council chairman. By dismantling the monopolies of powerful families, Piltover became a hub of daily technological innovation and production.
One of the most transformative advancements was material conversion technology, which allowed the barren northern Piltover mountains to be mined. Previously worthless stone was transformed into valuable resources for further development, enabling the Twin Cities to expand northward.
Li Lin spent an afternoon showing Zoe around the Twin Cities and introducing her to Zeri, an energetic new friend of Powder. Unfortunately, time was not on his side. After briefly relaxing, he had to prioritize his work, leaving Zoe to find entertainment elsewhere while he returned to his workshop.
The task of testing the micro-Runeterra models and drafting a list of Darkin could be delegated to his AI assistant, but with new technologies unlocked, Li Lin needed to expedite the construction of the Overlord Mechs.
The first mech in the series was the Overlord Sword Demon, designated ATRX-1.
Originally designed with plasma wings for limited flight and aerial combat against monstrous beasts, this humanoid mech wielded a plasma-thermal energy sword capable of harnessing ambient light particles to form a high-energy blade. Furthermore, the mech incorporated spatial technology, enabling the plasma sword to be teleported back to the main base while the unit itself transformed into a hypersonic jet.
Among the Overlord Mechs, the Sword Demon was the smallest and lightest, excelling in speed far beyond its larger counterparts.
However, relying solely on the Overlord Universe's technology wasn't enough. Li Lin integrated his own innovative ideas, including essential anti-gravity systems, advanced engines, novel construction materials, and a variety of long-range weaponry absent from the original design.
With the experience gained from building the Overlord Colossus, the construction of the Overlord Sword Demon progressed swiftly. In just one week, the mech was complete.
[Overlord Mech: Sword Demon (Epic)]
[Designation: ATRX-1]
[Height: 203 meters]
[Functional Modules: ...]
The energy cube reactor, energy conversion... transformation... hypersonic fighter... high-energy plasma sword blade, high-energy beam chain, rapid dash, light wings unfolding... terawatt-level cannon, material disintegration main cannon.
Overall Attributes: 90% damage reduction, 3% maximum energy recovery per second.
Rune Magic Enchantment: Energy amplification, feather-light (speed increase), rapid repair, energy weapon efficiency increase.
Due to the replacement of the original nuclear fusion reactor with the new energy cube reactor, the Overlord Sword Demon can now regenerate its own energy without needing "efficient energy charging." In the nearly impossible event of an energy crisis, it can absorb surrounding materials and convert them into a power source, replenishing the energy cube.
After all, the "Overlord Parallel Universe" doesn't have Aatrox, or perhaps this mecha is the embodiment of Aatrox in that world. Its various functions bear some resemblance to the legendary generals of the Shurima Empire.
For instance, the absorption of light particles for charging, creating the "high-energy plasma sword blade," is similar to how Aatrox imbues his weapons with the "death energy" of his "Gift of Death." However, due to the technological limitations of the original Overlord universe, this sword blade couldn't be maintained for long, but with Li Lin's upgrades, that problem no longer affects the mecha's combat power.
The "high-energy beam chain," a weapon formed by combining super-compressed materials and energy, was modified by Li Lin to use zero-element synthesized metal, which is similar to Aatrox's blood magic "Hellfire Chains."
When all the engines are engaged and the mecha accelerates rapidly with "speed dash," it mirrors Aatrox's own movement combined with blood magic's "shadow charge." The "light wings unfolding," originally designed to briefly glide, is similar to Aatrox's "Great Destruction," mimicking a divine figure. With the addition of anti-gravity technology and hyperpulse propulsion, the mecha can fly, making the light wings more of a luxury than a necessity. If not for the mecha's need to transform into a hypersonic fighter, Li Lin wouldn't have bothered adding them.
Regarding the rune magic enchantments, unlike the Overlord Beast, the Overlord Sword Demon lacks the defensive "shield barrier" but gains the highly effective "feather-light" enchantment, which significantly boosts speed. These two rune magic effects are incompatible when applied to the same item. The Overlord Sword Demon was quickly completed, and without taking much of a break, Li Lin immediately moved on to the next project—the Overlord Mecha Zero.
As the ultimate land mecha in the "Overlord Project," the Zero model, coded 0-SION, is like an unstoppable massive armored fortress on wheels, capable of withstanding enormous damage and effortlessly breaking through enemy defenses. However, the original design had a nearly fatal flaw in its artificial intelligence: once given a combat order, it would go to great lengths to complete it, and if a second order conflicted with the first, there was a high chance of system failure, leading to a rampage. In the Overlord universe, many scientists were concerned about this, but based on the Zero's performance against the Deep Sea Beasts, these worries were unfounded.
With the powerful AI intelligence brain, Li Lin had no such worries. He wasn't about to use the design's flawed "Zero Intelligence" model, which was obvious from the moment one looked at it. As an ultimate land mecha, the Overlord Zero's combat capability far surpasses that of the Overlord Beast, which could only take hits, or the Overlord Sword Demon, which is powerful but lacks solid defense. The Zero has a defense comparable to the Overlord Beast, and in close combat, its main weapon, a high-energy cutting axe weighing tens of thousands of tons, can sweep away anything that dares stand in its way.
When needed, it can transform into a massive land-fortress war machine, offering refuge for hundreds or even thousands of people. Even though Li Lin had experience constructing two mechas on his own, it still took him two full weeks to complete this giant land mecha.

Rampage, Kinetic Strike, Adaptive Energy Barrier, Sonic Battle Roar, Brutal Charge
Axis Base: Terawatt-Class Cannon, Material Disintegration Main Cannon
Overall Attributes: 95% damage reduction (extreme value), 3% maximum energy recovery per second.
Rune Magic Enchantment: Shield Barrier…]
In addition to the modules Li Lin added with his technology, he also intentionally retained the "rampage" function of the Zero model. Of course, this rampage is controllable—it's essentially a "resurrection" phase that occurs when the mecha's health drops to zero, significantly boosting its combat ability to unleash its final energy. Once the "rampage" phase is reached, the Overlord Zero can no longer be repaired.
Moreover, the Kinetic Strike takes inspiration from Jayce's kinetic slam technology, allowing the weapon to deliver devastating blows by infusing kinetic energy with every strike. The Adaptive Energy Barrier is different from the energy shields Li Lin originally developed for his power armor; it is a self-contained defense system that can coexist with his "Energy Shield" and benefit from his "Shield Expansion" enhancements. Essentially, as long as energy is sufficient, the Overlord Zero can activate two energy shields simultaneously. The Sonic Battle Roar releases energy as sound waves toward the front, creating a surprise effect unless the Material Disintegration Cannon is used. Finally, the Brutal Charge is entirely based on the original technology, allowing the Overlord Zero to transform into a fortress war machine and charge with a thermal barrier, launching an unstoppable assault on the enemy.
Li Lin had just completed the construction of the new Overlord Mecha when the AI informed him of an exciting update
