The moment those words left my mouth, Serune immediately blushed so hard that even her ears turned red. She quickly looked away from me, clearly embarrassed by how directly the conversation had suddenly moved in that direction, and for a moment she seemed to have completely forgotten what she was supposed to say.
"You are certainly quick to make up your mind," the Queen said, sounding amused by how easily I had accepted the offer.
"Well, Serune is a beautiful woman, and I think it would be a real shame if I refused an opportunity like this when the offer was practically being placed right in front of my face. I would probably regret it later if I simply turned it down without even considering it properly," I told her, shrugging as though this were the most reasonable conclusion in the world.
