But when he heard it, he only felt as if a knife had cut through his heart, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
In disbelief, he looked at her angry little face.
His chest throbbed with sharp pain, not expecting that a casual remark from her could make him feel so miserable.
This little girl, with anger all over her face, said she hated him. Did he really annoy her that much? In her heart, he ranked last among all her relatives in terms of affection, but now he was suddenly at the top of the list of those she disliked.
Had he become overly attached to this little girl, to the point where he couldn't bear the slightest gain or loss?
"You've never said you hated me before." He bent down, his eyes filled with helpless sadness, reaching out to gently stroke her angry little cheek. He shouldn't have taken issue with a little girl's words; she was just spoiled, acting willfully, demanding that everything go her way.
Maybe if he coaxed her, she would stay.
