The wild woman, Sola, woke up saying, "Hey, cats, where are you?" She approached the grandfather, then suddenly screamed and began to meow like a wild cat, raising her hands like claws.
The grandfather stepped back from her, saying, "You wild woman, what happened to you?"
Sola screamed, "I'll kill you, Bertagao! You took my children from me."
The grandfather was surprised, wondering to himself, Is this woman acting out a play? Has she returned to a time of savagery? Is she in shock? Is she recalling some part of her life? Or is the feline monster living inside her body? I don't know how to deal with this.
He decided to leave her until she calmed down and sat. Then, trying to connect with her, the grandfather imitated a wild cat, walking toward her while meowing.
When he reached her, Sola stroked his head and said, "You're back, cat. I'm asking you—what's outside? Is Bertagao's palace full of monsters?"
Grandpa Cat: "Yes, his palace is full of monsters."
Sola: "Have you seen my children's graves?"
Grandpa Cat: "No."
Sola: "Then the monsters must have gotten rid of them… eaten them."
Grandpa Cat: "I know a place where their names are mentioned."
Sola: "Come on, take me to them, you wild old cat. I've tired you out for years while you've been living with me."
Grandpa Cat: "Come on, let's get out of the cave."
Sola: "Please, don't take me to the palace."
Grandpa Cat: "Don't worry, we won't go there."
Sola stepped out of the cave and saw the light in the sky. The sky was overcast. She asked, "Where is the sun? Maybe you're tricking me, cat."
Grandpa Cat: "The sky is just cloudy. Maybe when we reach the forest, we'll find the sun shining."
