Mae's eyes slowly opened, and she looked around, finding herself in her own bedroom. Struggling to sit up, she looked down and saw her pregnant belly was still the same.
Sighing wearily, she hadn't expected this pregnancy to be so difficult; it was even harder than the first. Much harder than her first pregnancy.
She gently shook the bell beside her desk to call for help.
She shook it once, then again, and again.
The bell rang loudly, but no one came. This was strange; if it were Belle, Fifi, or at least Loya, they would surely have dropped everything and rushed over. Yet, she had been shaking the bell for ages and no one had heard.
So she had to move her heavy body towards the wheelchair herself, and with great difficulty, she managed to sit in it.
Rolling the wheelchair outside, the atmosphere was strangely quiet; there were no sounds of people walking or animals, not even the slightest rustling of leaves.
