After graduation, everyone went their separate ways, except for those who were best friends and lovers, as some left to pursue their dreams.
The day was stormy and dark. Alice's peaceful family sat together in their parlor when suddenly, Alice received a phone call. After the call, Alice was panicking.
"What's up, sis?" Cecily asked.
Alice was quiet for some seconds, then averted her gaze to look at her father. "Dad, I know it's late, but please, I need to check on someone," she said.
"I trust you, darling. Okay, you can go, but don't reach midnight," he agreed.
"Thanks," she said. Cecily just folded her arms across her chest. "Oh, really? You just ignored me!" she complained.
"It's Shawn. He had an accident," Alice said.
How's that possible? Even if that vamp actually got into an accident, he would have healed, Cecily thought inwardly. "I'll go with you," Cecily said.
"No thanks, I'll manage. So stay with Dad, because he's not yet familiar with this mansion Shawn gave us."
"Okay," Cecily agreed, not because she wanted to, but because she had no choice. Shawn had given them a mansion as their father's birthday gift two days after their graduation.
In a small room with dimly lit light, a female figure was tied to a chair. She seemed unconscious, her disheveled hair covering her face as her head hung down. Moments later, the lady woke up and tried to move, but she couldn't. "Help!!!!" she echoed, but to her disappointment, no one came. "Why am I here? What happened?" she asked herself before her eyes widened in shock.
Hours ago...
Alice went to the roadside, and as the person who claimed to have witnessed Shawn's accident had said, she saw a black van waiting for her. She had a bad feeling, but she calmed herself, reasoning that Shawn sent the car to pick her up, so it was okay.
"Alice Nhai, right?" a man in the van asked as she approached. She looked at him before nodding in agreement. He looked like a thug with his rough face, but she thought of him more as a bodyguard. He opened the van, and the moment she put her left leg inside, she was forcefully pulled in and knocked out with a substance poured onto a handkerchief. Before she passed out, she saw four hefty men, and that was how she knew it was not only the driver. She was doomed. They had kidnapped her.
And now, upon opening her eyes, she found herself in this suffocating room.
She could feel it was already midnight, and she knew her dad would be worried sick about her. And here she was, kidnapped. Oh, she'd surely rip the person responsible alive.
The next morning, she was woken up by a splash of water on her face. "Gasp... hey, watch it!" Alice warned. An evil laughter was heard. It was a lady, and Alice's eyes widened subconsciously.
"Nyla?" Alice said in shock.
"You fool. You think you can get away, huh?" she said evilly.
"Stop this madness, Nyla!" Alice stood her ground.
