Chapter 9 - Bar (2)

Sebas's expression hardened; he knew he had acted presumptuously. However, he hadn't expected his master's mood to change in an instant.

..... How important was that woman's existence to his master?

Realizing the mistake in his words, Sebas immediately lowered his head.

"I apologize for my insolence, Duke."

The Duke's anger did not subside easily. He immediately scolded Sebas in a cold tone,

"If you understand, then leave my room now…"

Without any room for compromise, Sebas immediately turned toward the exit. But in that instant, something crossed his mind.

…The Duke has been unusually sensitive and quick to anger since the incident at the inn. What could be the reason?

Sebas's presence slowly faded from the room, leaving the Handsome Duke alone.

In the silence of the office, the Duke quietly sighed and leaned his head back on the chair, closing his eyes.

Suddenly, memories from the inn surfaced in his mind, deepening the furrow on his forehead.

"Damn it…"

The Duke opened his eyes, revealing a glint in his blue eyes. His gaze shifted to the window, where a beautiful blue sky was on display.

"Wouldn't it be better to kill that young lady from Vendryl? Because of her, I was forced to rape an unknown woman… Accusing her of poisoning the Duke would make more sense to bring this case to court…"

Duke Jervain murmured softly as he gazed out the window.

Suddenly, he recalled the heated pleasure in the inn's bed with that woman. Her soft white hair and mesmerizing red eyes. Her stunning curves, wide hips, and slender waist that made it easy for a man to hold her.

The erotic sounds of her moans began to fill the Duke's mind. The hot breath against his neck and the rare fragrance of that woman were forever etched into his soul and body.

Unconsciously, the Duke's cheeks flushed, and his breathing grew heavy. He was startled to find himself aroused after recalling the scene in bed with her.

Spontaneously, he clutched his chest, feeling his heart pounding.

His trembling lips slowly parted as if he wanted to say something,

"If only…

"If only I knew that woman's real name…"

Then it would be easier to trace your whereabouts.

… … …

Visionary Witch.

When you hear the word 'Visionary,' your mind is directed to a particular phrase:

Observation.

It relates to the eyes or the sense of sight.

Miss Vanessa mentioned that the constellation of the Visionary Witch is the 'Sage of Imagination.'

That reminds me of the constellation of the Nourriture Witch, which is the StellarGourmet. Laura said that every Witch has a constellation that represents them.

By the way, I'm still at Airlangga Bar. Airlangga is the name of this bar. Perhaps Miss Vanessa named the bar, as she is, of course, the owner of this place.

Lost in my own thoughts, Miss Vanessa's voice interrupted me.

"The Visionary Witch possesses an ability called 'Soaring of Eye,' which grants me sharp observational power when examining individuals, whether alone or in groups.

"The Visionary Witch has the ability to observe someone from a common perspective, revealing their true thoughts through their expressions, behavior, and subconscious actions.

"With this ability, the Visionary Witch can analyze relationships and deduce information from the collected data, forming an accurate mental model of the target…

"The second ability is 'Razor of Mind,' which allows for telepathy, enabling me to read the surface thoughts of others and simulate their thought processes to a certain extent.

"I can also perform telepathy with certain living beings, though not all, which allows me to exchange visions with what the connected being sees.

"As for the remaining abilities, I won't tell you. You can figure them out over time."

Miss Vanessa explained while puffing on her cigar with a faint smile.

Seeing that she had no intention of continuing her explanation about the Visionary Witch and her constellation, I gave up.

From her explanation, I concluded that the Visionary Witch possesses offensive abilities that manipulate the perception and thoughts of her opponents.

One must not act recklessly when facing a Visionary Witch. I don't know what the future holds, but gaining this knowledge isn't bad, just in case I end up in conflict with other Witches.

Deciding to set aside my thoughts, I shifted my gaze to Miss Vanessa and said,

"I understand why you said my ability is the natural enemy of yours. It's because my ability can deceive your deep observational perception.

"..."

"Not only that, my ability to control my expressions at will can disrupt your observational skills. This could interfere with the results of your analysis, affecting the information about the target's mental state that is transmitted to your brain."

"..."

"On the other hand, if we're talking about my ability to change my face, honestly—"

Miss Vanessa's raised hand cut me off in an instant.

I was startled as I observed her casually puffing on her cigar with a frown on her face.

…Oh damn, I messed up.

"You're a clever woman, but that's not the important topic right now…"

With that, Miss Vanessa stood up from her chair and walked into the back room before returning with a sheet of paper and a pen in her hands.

She placed the paper on the table in front of me and handed me the pen.

"Aren't you here to apply for a job? Do you know what a bartender is?"

Glancing at the pen in my hand while nodding,

"Someone who prepares and serves drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, right?"

Smiling at my insight, Miss Vanessa patted my head as a form of appreciation.

It made me feel both embarrassed and annoyed.

"Good thing you know. That saves me the trouble of wasting time explaining the definition of a bartender…"

…Miss Vanessa! What do you mean by that!?

I was stunned by her words but quickly brushed it off, focusing on reading the sheet on the table.

"This is a contract," said Miss Vanessa.

"I've written down some terms and a base salary tailored for a beautiful and intelligent woman like you…"

"I consider this an honor, Miss."

I commented while reading the employment contract on the paper.

"Keep in mind that this employment contract is temporary, valid for a specific period. As a wealthy woman from the Amory family, I'm offering some benefits if you sign this written agreement…"

With that, Miss Vanessa placed her hand on her cheek, tilting her head elegantly. Her purple eyes narrowed, and a charming smile was directed at me.

"The offer is…"

"Gulp."

Swallowing nervously, I waited for Miss Vanessa's next words,

"... Anything you want."

"Huh?"
