Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - Is this a dream?

Everything was dark.

Obito couldn't see a thing. Nothing but pitch black darkness as if he had entered a never ending void.

"Where is this? It's so dark."

Obito was confused and scared. Is this what Rin wanted him to do? To spend time in this pitch black nothingness for the rest of eternity? He had only just woken up here a few minutes ago and he already felt like he was going insane.

"…"

"Maybe this is my punishment."

Obito said, at least he thinks he spoke those words but there was no sound coming from his voice.

This really is Hell.

A hell constructed for him. He had committed so many horrible crimes. Done so many horrible things. It's only right this is what he gets.

"There's no such thing as redemption for me…"

He had begun to accept that this place was now his home and he could never leave.

Or so he thought, but suddenly a blinding light began to shine through the darkness, hurting his eyes in the process after being in such a dark place.

Curious and almost desperate, Obito got as close as he could to the light and as he did he suddenly felt drowsy and passed out on the spot.

"I recognize this roof."

Obito found himself in a small room. It was a room he had gradually forced himself to forget, but never truly could.

He was layed down in the middle of the room. To his right was a desk next to a window. On the right of the desk was a bookshelf. Though what he should've noticed first was a cork board plastered with pictures of Rin all over it.

"This is my room.. but why? How?"

Obito perched himself up with his hands while still laying in bed. It was still dark out so Obito reached for the desk lamp laying on the floor next to his bed. It gave off a small but good enough amount of light.

He observed his surroundings once more and forced himself up despite his body being very tired. It was then he noticed something peculiar.

"Huh? Wait a second. I'm way too small."

Obito ran to the window while making a lot of noise and even knocking over the desk lamp placed next to his bed. He gazed into the window only to realize..

"I'm way younger. Even younger than when I was in the afterlife with Rin.. what is going on?"

Obito was perplexed and unsure of what to think, but before he could get the chance to come up with an answer he heard footsteps coming towards his bedroom door as a voice called out to him in a gentle, soft tone.

"Obito? Is everything alright?"

"Grandmother?"

He rushed to the door like he would never get this chance again. He practically swung the door open so hard it could've been destroyed.

Stabding in the hallway was his very own grandmother who he had not seen in years. After the battle of Kanabi bridge he was sure he would never see her again for he had already forsaken the world. But now he could only be thankful for being given this opportunity again.

"Obito, what's the matter dear? You made a lot noise a sec—"

Before she could finish her sentence Obito had latched onto her with his little arms wrapped around her waist as far as they could go.

"Obito? Did you have a nightmare?"

Obito who was attempting to hold back his tears let out a shaky response.

"…Yeah.. it was a very long one."
