Chapter 2 - A new perspective.

In these few weeks I stayed inside of the ship and came to learn a lot about this new life of mine. My name is Denik Faultz, the only heir of a small Royal Family that ruled over a small system called the Faultz Line, a total of 4 planets that orbited a small sun in, you guessed it, in a line.

As it was explained to me my family had been taken into custody by the Altein Family, who falsely accused my father of rebellion. A family directly under the Imperial Family, the Altiens wanted control of our Solar System, due to the abundance of moons suitable for mining Astral Mana Stones.

'Mana?' The one word that caught my attention out of everything that Naggy has said. "Naggy? Is there magic?"

"Yes Master Denik, certain individuals are capable of casting Magic. Only if their bodies allow them to."

Pondering this new information I couldn't help but ask, "Am I capable of casting Magic?"

Naggy paused for a moment and reluctantly answered. "Unfortunately Master Denik you are unable, while members of your family are capable. Your Physique is unable to handle the strain due to your Mana Veins, and could potentially rupture causing irreparable internal damage."

I could only sigh and nod, "Please continue."

My Father, King Oswald Faultz. Had received word that the Imperial Family sent an army to take us into custody. Just as we were already set to escape from the home world we got caught in a trap. At my fathers command I took my personal ship and tried to flee, while being pursued Naggy took a few shots to one of the thrusters and damaged her core disrupting piloting controls. The last of the thrusters went into overdrive and veered us right into a wormhole.

Thus leaves us in the current situation we are in. Stranded on a planet that has no records in the Imperial database, we are also unable to connect to any networks of the Imperium. The most we are capable of doing is taking a distress beacon and manually placing it at a high peak.

Under the assumption that most of the planet is entirely dangerous we are sitting ducks.

"Naggy, what is the current date?"

After a few moments, "The current date is October 17th, 7018."

'So it's been almost 5000 years since my previous life.' I pondered. "How about the planet Earth?"

I stood there and waited for a few moments before I got a response and it wasn't one I was expecting.

"Unfortunately Master Denik, there are no records of a planet with the name 'Earth.'"

'So it must have been destroyed by that asteroid.'

Shaking my head and coming back to the present, "Well Naggy tell me more about everything you can."

She could only stare at me for a minute before adhering to my request, and more time went on.

During these weeks I was informed by Naggy, after being coated in that tiger's blood there was something that started living in my body. Her conclusion is that it was something akin to Nanobots, a type of manmade subatomic being that can live inside the body of anything living. According to her analysis of my blood containing some of them, they are slowly assimilating to my body, and rapidly reproducing.

Though that's not the only thing that the Nanite-like beings are doing, inside my body they are slowly rewriting my DNA adapting the tiger's blood and genetics into mine. Physically altering my body on a subatomic level.

Perhaps that could have been the main cause for how quickly I had healed after the whole incident with the tiger and t-rex.

One night I had a dream where I had relived that whole scene, but I tried to fight back instinctually. Claws protruded from my fingertips, the muscles in my body tightened and doubled in size. When I woke up, I sat upright quickly, and rubbed my face.

"My hand!" Claws, sharp and metallic, lines that moved across my body. My body had changed exactly how it did in the dream! I quickly ran to the full body mirror that was right next to the shower. My body was ripped, some would say I obtained a grecian god bod, but what caught my attention the most were my eyes. They had changed too, mechanical but still organic.

"Naggy, can you run a physical scan on me?"

"Of course Master Denik, initiating body scan."

Gears whirred as a green light ran from the top of my head to my feet.

"From the data we have just recorded your body has fully assimilated to the Nanites, from what the readings say. The nanites have recorded the muscle structure of the tiger and incorporated it into your's. My hypothesis is that these Nanites extract crucial DNA traits for optimum survival and incorporate them into the host's being."

I pondered the hypothesis for a good minute, "We can't really test that theory unless I go back out…"

"Master Denik, we still need to set up the S.O.S. beacon to try and receive aid!"

"Shit, you're right." I sighed.

Looking back at myself in the mirror, "Hey Naggy, do you think I could change back?"

"According to the scan, the Nanites in your body do respond to your consciousness. Potentially yes."

Closing my eyes I focused on the way my body felt, closing my focus in, I tried to feel for the Nanites in my body. At first I couldn't feel a thing, but then I felt around in the darkness that is my being. In my consciousness a single light appeared, followed by another, then another. Millions upon millions of lights made up the shape of a body.

In my mind I couldn't tell if I was imaging it or if it had actually happened, but I reached out with my hand, and it reached out with it's hand. Once our fingertips touched a burst of energy surged throughout what felt like the deepest parts of my being.

I felt… Connected… To all of me, as if a dam was installed only allowing a small flow, but now that flow is in full torrent.

I thought about changing my body back, and how I could do it. 'If only I could have a body preset slide to select.' I chuckled to myself at that thought.

Then suddenly 2 images appeared at the forefront of my vision. One of how I look now with a slightly grown out high and tight hair cut, a muscular body that's more built on the torso, and the claws on my hands and feet. The other is my original appearance, same hair, but with a leanly built body of someone who kept up on their daily workout routines.

I tried to touch the image with my hand though it passed right through. So I tried thinking of moving the selection over to my original build and an outline appeared around it. Consciously thinking of the word 'Select,' I felt my body shift and change altering itself.

I opened my eyes and looked in the mirror, my body changed! The lines and my eyes remained the same. "Well there is no use in trying to fight it right now." So I continued on over the next couple of days testing the limits of these new physical phenomena.

During that time I learned a few things about the ship, such as the clothes generator. According to Naggy all I have to do is place my hand on the scanner and it'll scan the energy through my body to my brainwaves and generate what I feel like wearing at that moment. So I gave it a shot.

I placed my hand on the scanner, and the machine booted right up. After a few moments of scanning the machine started printing away.

*Ding*

"Master Denik, your new clothes have finished generating!" Naggy said with a cheerful tone.

I opened up the glass case and a fresh set of clothes neatly folded in a stack sat inside.

I wasted no time in putting them on, a white tanktop, black pair of cargo pants, and a pair of hiking boots.

"Master Denik, you look wonderful! Is that what you plan on wearing out on your trek to find a place to set up the beacon?"

Placing my hand back on the scanner for the clothes generator, I thought to myself. "No not yet I need to get a better grip of what it is like outside the ship. Do you have any kind of radar that can map out the area near us?"

The generator hummed to life as it scanned my brainwaves and got to work creating a few clothing items.

Naggy flew just into my peripherals, "Unfortunately Master Denik, most of the ship's functions are offline due to the damage."

Letting out a sigh I grabbed the clothes out of the generator, a belt, and a gray hoodie. Putting them on, I headed to the door at the back of the ship. Turning to look at Naggy, "Do we have any kind of weapons?" I asked sheepishly while remembering that there is a GIANT t-rex roaming around out there somewhere.

*Pwshh*

A panel on the wall next to the door slid open revealing a single handed long sword and what looked like some kind of pistol with a belt holster.

"Woah. Good thing I remembered to ask!" I said with anxious excitement, I looped the belt of the holster into my pants, sheathing the sword and holstering the pistol.

I walked back over and stood facing the door.

Endless thoughts ran through my mind as I stood there, 'What else am I going to see out there? What else IS OUT THERE?!" With a deep breath and a tone of resolve I spoke.

"Open it Naggy."
