Chapter 9 - Special Containment Procedure

[SCP world.]

Henry Doyle sat in a dark, claustrophobic room, the damp walls closing around him.

A single overhead lamp swayed gently above the central table, casting long, shifting shadows across the room.

His hands cuffed tightly to the chain implanted into the floor. Opposite him, a thick iron door stood beside a one-way black mirror that reflected nothing but his own blank expression.

He was unnaturally calm, eyes fixed on empty air, muttering as if reading unseen text.

At that time, he was texting inside the Multiverse Chat Group.

Henry Doyle: Fellas, I am currently captured by the SCP Foundation :Broken Heart Emoji: Am I cooked? :Skull Emoji: :Skull Emoji: :Skull Emoji:

Izuku Midoriya: Are you alright? I've just read the [SCP] files inside the chat and they all seemed quite dangerous!

Henry Doyle: I'm pretty much alright, at least for now. These scientists had placed me in this dark room, I guess this is an interrogation room? I don't know.

Herobrine: Wow, they're quick. How did you get found out and captured?

Sung Jin-Woo: Was it the apple? I remember the apple does emit an abundant amount of mana but it was quite unnoticeable for some reason.

Henry Doyle: I think that's one of the reasons, there's also a device that I saw one of them carried called "Reality Distortion Detector" that could probably detect some form of anomalous activity around me due to the system and the apple.

Herobrine: That's plausible.

Henry Doyle raised his head to observe the figure that entered this place, it was a young adult female adorned in a white coat and glasses, likely a researcher in this facility.

"Mr Henry Doyle, correct?" She asked, her tone indifferent.

Henry stared at her with a steady gaze and replied, "Yes, I am."

The female researcher calmly nodded in response, her lips parted once again.

"I am the representative of the SCP Foundation, we have a suspicion regarding the concerning rate of anomalous activity that happened in your vicinity hence we would like to officially put you under our surveillance, to oversee your supposed anomalous behavior and to maintain global normalcy, for that we ask for your cooperation."

She spoke, her voice steady and monotone, almost robot-like, her gaze maintained its intensity as the words escaped her mouth.

"I see, I'll cooperate then." Henry nodded as he took a glance at the name on the female researcher's ID.

Researcher Jane Brown.

Henry had known that the SCP Foundation was not simple nor a group you should go against, even though his version of them might be weaker, it doesn't mean it's all sunshine and rainbows.

As he was deep in thought, his gaze drifted into an empty air where the system materialized.

Herobrine: Hey, how about you start a live stream?

Izuku Midoriya: Oh yeah, we have something like that! Mr Henry, please create a live stream!

Saitama: I'm curious too.

Henry Doyle: How? :Crying Emoji:

Herobrine: I think you just need to press the live stream button on the upper right corner of the panel.

Henry's gaze drifted to the mentioned position, he saw a rectangular-shaped button glowed red with LIVE STREAM written in bold over it.

He was about to raise his hand to press it but then remembered that he was cuffed.

Henry Doyle: I forgot that my hand was cuffed lmao :High Five Emoji:

"Mr Doyle? The other researchers told me to ask you regarding your actions of talking with yourself or reading an invisible text." Researcher Jane asked, there was a flicker of curiosity.

Henry let out a sigh as he raised his hand to the highest it can go.

"Can you please release me first?" Henry asked.

Researcher Jane swayed her head side to side, "Unfortunately, we are unable to do that, the risk is high as we don't have the slightest idea regarding your anomalous property."

'That's reasonable, should I ask them to release just one of them?' Henry thought, calm and collected as he spoke once again.

"How about just my right arm?" Henry said.

Researcher Jane thought for a moment as she spoke, "I need to ask the other researchers and call for the mobile task force to complete the task if approved."

Henry nodded, he didn't push further as it was better to avoid being hostile to the SCP Foundation.

It doesn't take long for Researcher Jane to return alongside three fully-equipped men.

One of them approached Henry and unlocked one of the handcuffs.

Henry's right hand was freed, he quickly moved it around and pressed the LIVE STREAM button written in bold.

[What would you like the title to be?]

'SCP Experience.' He let out a chuckle as he confirmed the name, his gaze then drifted back to the panel for the chat group.

[Henry Doyle had initiated his live stream: SCP Experience.]

[Herobrine had entered the live stream.]

[Izuku Midoriya had entered the live stream.]

[Mark Grayson had entered the live stream.]

[Saitama had entered the live stream.]

[Sung Jin-Woo had entered the live stream.]

Herobrine: Oh, what's up Mark? You're here too?

Mark Grayson: I'm alright, it's just that… I am processing the fact that my Dad is part of an evil alien race…

Herobrine: Take your time, just know that it's not a future that has already been set in stone and you could lead your father to a better path earlier.

Saitama: Wow, that room is really dark.

Izuku Midoriya: So these are the groups called MTF from the [SCP] files? They looked quite cool.

While the chat was filled with life, Henry and Researcher Jane sat opposite to each other.

"May we begin with the questioning?" Researcher Jane asked.

"I guess so." Henry replied.

"The Reality Distortion Detector had reacted massively in certain positions and moments, here is the example image." Researcher Jane slides a few images of Henry staring into a rectangular-shaped invisible object.

Henry stared intently at the images, it seemed to accurately detect the existence of the system panel itself quite accurately.

"From your reaction it seems that you were familiar with this, which should be obvious as you blatantly interacted with them, so may we ask what it is?" Researcher Jane asked.

"Are you familiar with Webnovels?" Henry asked.

"Webnovels?" She responded in puzzlement.

Henry stared at her confusion with disbelief, she was younger than him yet she doesn't even know about Webnovels? She must've been quite a workaholic.

"Well, you must know about novels right? Stories like Sherlock Holmes, Kafka On The Shore, Journey To The West, etc." Henry purposely paused to measure her level of understanding.

"Yes, I have only read a handful of Sherlock novels, does your anomalous property have anything to do with them?" She responded calmly.

"I see, well do you have your smartphone or anything that could go to the internet here?" Henry asked.

"Well, electronic devices were not allowed to be brought here, I can request for the Foundation's self-produced smartphone from the senior researchers." She replied.

'My smartphone has been confiscated before arriving here, so there's not much choice.' Henry thought.

"Sure, let's do that." Henry agreed with Researcher Jane's.

As Researcher Jane walked out of the room, Henry stared at the live stream chat.

Herobrine: She seemed to be a hardworking young lady.

Izuku Midoriya: Yeah, she doesn't seem hostile but rather just cold and robotic but not too cold, Mr Henry you're quite lucky to meet someone like her instead of someone much colder.

Henry Doyle: I guess, I am quite lucky!

Mark Grayson: Ah, there she is.

Saitama: SCP Foundation, huh? Is it the same as the Hero Association?

Herobrine: Obviously, outside of the fact that they're an ally of humanity, they're pretty different as SCP Foundation is more so a government entity that contains and eliminates but more than likely contains a dangerous anomalous entity.

Saitama: I see.

Henry raised his head back as he heard the sound of an object dropped on the table, it seemed to be a plain black smartphone.

Henry lifted the phone into his hand as he noticed the SCP Foundation logo on the phone's back.

'There's no password, quite convenient.' Henry thought as he went to the internet to search for the Webnovel website.

"Here, this is one of the platforms where you could find Webnovels, the specific Webnovels that my anomalous property were based on came from a specific genre called Systems, where a game-like user interface appears in reality, the specific system? Well, it is a system called Chat Group System, it's basically a multiversal discord server." Henry explained, he simplified most of the information.

"So you can communicate with entities from the multiverse?" She asked.

"Correction, other multiverses." Henry replied.

Behind the one-way mirror was a group of senior researchers that had been tasked to handle this new anomaly; it was quite simple as the human that possessed the anomalous property was cooperative.

"Interaction with entities outside of our planet is already potentially dangerous, and this guy claimed to interact with entities not just outside of our universe but also outside of our multiverse as a whole. We couldn't let him be." One of the researchers spoke.

"Yeah, but hostility would also possibly lead to extremely dangerous situations or straight up apocalyptic scenarios." Another added to the discussion.

"We might be able to get him to our side as a Thaumiel subject, he doesn't seem to have hostile intentions towards us, it's better to keep him with us and grant him top notch treatment, that might also help us in the long run as he might also help the Foundation to contain any upcoming dangerous anomaly." Another one spoke.

"If everyone agreed to keep him with us in a controlled environment for safety reasons and to keep him from external and hostile forces, then let's start discussing how we would 'contain' him and where we would place his 'containment' in." Another researcher added, the silhouette seemed to exude an air of an experienced figure.

On the table, beside a cup of coffee was a file titled:

Special Containtment Procedure #3470.
