After assuring them that the man had fallen asleep, Audrey left him in the camp and joined those who were gathered around the campfire.
The group of men that had gone hunting with Damien came back with some bush meat while they were preparing the food.
Some of the women and soldiers couldn't help but glance at the tent where the man was sleeping.
Damien saw the fear in their eyes. "It's okay. He is not dangerous. You guys can eat in comfort."
Even with his words of assurance, he could still tell they were afraid. He picked up his meal and beckoned to Greyson to follow him.
When he had put enough distance between himself and the people eating, he questioned Greyson about how the man had stumbled into the camp.
Greyson recounted the situation perfectly and how he had planned to attack the man before Audrey stopped him.
Damien sighed. "I think there's something fishy about the whole story. How could he alone survive out of fifty people? What happened to the rest?"
