All sorts of rules and abilities flying around, each assault landing could harm a plant; if it hits the target or counters its attributes, those Deities could even, with one strike, possess the ability to kill those plants.
Moreover, apart from various rule-based attacks, upon witnessing the formidable performance of those plants, those Deities finally took out some of their bottom-drawer Equipment for their own safety.
There was no need to use Equipment abilities, plus those Deities wanted to eventually use the Equipment's abilities for self-defense or Counterattack. After all, rule abilities are more or less similar; as Enemies, they might not understand their capabilities very well, but within the same faction, those Deities surely knew their companions were mostly aware of each other's abilities.
