Ann Chapman and Max Davies arrived almost simultaneously.
Lynette Moreland saw the two get out of the car, hope rising in her eyes, but it was unclear whether this hope was because of Max Davies or Ann Chapman.
Mia Moreland saw Ann Chapman, and tears immediately streamed down her face.
The terrace was narrow, barely the distance of a large step for an adult. She and Lynette were forced to stand at the edge of the terrace. The wooden railing, decayed over the years and infested by insects, looked very fragile, seeming like it could be kicked apart with a little effort.
"Brother Ann..." Mia Moreland wanted to say she was scared and hoped he would save her, but her voice trembled so much that she couldn't even pronounce the words correctly.
Max Davies saw Lynette Moreland's face covered in blood, his eyes darkening, he shouted to the kidnappers upstairs, "Let them go, whatever you want, I can give it to you!"
