Chapter 4: Deku No More Part 1
It was raining in the Musutafu prefecture, everyone outside scurrying to find any shelter from the cold onslaught of watery bullets. Within the midst of the crowd was Izuku who had a downcasted expression, uncaring about where his body was taking him. Reaching an alleyway, he saw Kemono and his group standing there, the blonde outstretching his hand.
"You know the deal already, Deku!" He gestured. "Chop! Chop!"
Letting out a sigh, Izuku begrudgingly took out his wallet which Kumo grabbed out of his hands.
"Thanks for the money." The orange-haired teenager smiled as he counted the money before he nodded. "Good, Deku. You kept up your end of the bargain."
"You see, Deku?" Kemono grinned as he went in front of the green-haired teenager who was looking to the ground. "All you had to do was follow my orders. Also-"
He punched Izuku in the stomach before grabbing him by the hair and throwing him onto the ground. "What did I say about how you should be talking to me?"
All of the delinquents laughed as Izuku was slumped on the ground, mud staining his clothes.
Seeing the green-haired boy shaking, Kemono scoffed as he stepped on the teen's head. "You should be on the ground eating dirt when addressing me, you fucking ant!"
Izuku bit his tongue as he spoke. "...yes sir..."
Hearing that, Kemono smiled as he rubbed Izuku's face on the ground. "There we go. Keep it up and I don't have to give your parents another 'visit'. However, you were a little late so your sister may have to go through another 'accident'. What should I do?"
Izuku's eyes widened as he looked at Kemoni who had an evil smile on his face.
"Maybe I should kill her…" The blonde said, putting his fingers on his chin. Seeing the look on Izuku's face made him happier as he continued. "… I mean, why should I keep her alive when I know where your parents are…"
"Well, it's all up to you, Deku!" Kumo said before his smile widened, showing his spider-like teeth. "But seeing his expression, I guess his decision is to kill his sister."
Ixuku's eyes widened as he got up. "Wait! No-"
He was stopped by a strike from Kemono that sent him crashing into a dumpster.
"Don't blame us for your life being shit!" Kemono said, stepping on Izuku's bandaged arm. "If you should blame anyone, blame your parents for being weak! In fact, blame yourself for existing. Maybe, without you, their lives would've been better. Remember, Deku! All men are not created equal. Some, like me, are destined to be at the top while trash like you deserve to be at the bottom."
They all laughed before walking away, unaware of Izuku shaking in pure anger and frustration as he glared at the delinquents before he punched the ground, surrounded by silence and his thoughts.
'All men are not equal…' Those words rang through Izuku's mind as he dragged himself to the hospital.
Reaching the place, the nurses and doctors avoided him until he reached his parents' room, the teen saw the head doctor reading his clipboard. Izuku prepared himself for the worst although he desperately wished this was all a dream.
"Doctor…" He spoke, signaling the doctor of his presence.
"O-oh! Mr. Midoriya!" The man said in shock before he gestured to Izuku to another room and tended to his injuries.
"The good news is that your parents are stabilized for now...but they will need blood to survive." The doctor informed Izuku, unnerved by the blank expression on the teenager's bandage-covered face.
Seeing Izuku dressed in his tattered uniform with the addition of a black hoodie, the doctor could not lie that he felt sorry for the teenager. 'Poor boy. To go through all of this.'
"Thank you, sir." Izuku's broken voice felt like a bullet through the man's chest as he gestured the teen into the room. "You can visit your parents."
"Thank you…sir." The teen entered the room like a zombie before sitting beside his parents. He gazed at his father who was showing no signs of consciousness. "How is my father, sir?"
The doctor let out a sigh as he read his clipboard. "His condition is much worse than your mother, Izuku Midoriya. He received multiple wounds, the ones of concern being on his chest and his hip. Even if he survives this, there is a possibility that he won't be able to walk again."
Izuku looked at his father with a depressed expression, his shoulders slumped before he heard his mother's voice. "Izuku…"
"Mom!" He ran to his mother who looked at him.
"Izuku…you're...ok..." Her voice was faint, barely above a whisper, but it was enough to send a wave of relief through him. "We…were so…worried…"
Izuku squeezed her hand gently, leaning in closer so she wouldn't have to strain herself to speak.
"I'm here, Mom. I'm ok. I was trying to salvage anything available at our house." He held her hand gently, smiling as he took out some clothes for her, his father, and Yumemi which had slight burnt marks on them. "It's not much but it's something."
The woman nodded weakly as he put down the bags beside their beds before the mother noticed something that made her shocked.
'I don't like that look on your face, honey.' Inko thought, weakly lifting her hand to her son's face that showed his green soulless eyes. "Please...don't..."
"I'm going to be ok, Mom. You taught me how to cook at least. I can take care of myself." Izuku smiled, the woman more concerned as she tried to grip his hand with all her might.
'Even now, he's hiding his feelings. He's still trying to act tough.' Her hand went to caressing her son's cheek. 'He's hurting. He's in pain. His smile is even more crooked than before. I know when you're lying, Izuku.'
Izuku put down his mother's hand, hugging her gently and telling her to rest before he left the room. "I'll see if I can get anything else. I'll be right back, Mom."
"Izuku…don't go…" Inko weakly cried, stretching her arm as she watched her son's retreating silhouette. 'Hisashi, help me! Izuku…I know that face he has. Nothing good comes from that face. Not again.'
Leaving the room, Izuku closed the door and let out a sigh that did not go unnoticed by the doctor.
The doctor placed a reassuring hand on Izuku's shoulder. "You're strong, Izuku. Your parents are lucky to have you."
Izuku didn't feel strong. He felt broken, torn apart by the horrors he had witnessed, by the helplessness that threatened to consume him.
"Doctor," Izuku asked, his voice raspy. "Why are my parents able to get donors?"
Hearing the teen's question, the doctor pursed his lips before Izuku stood in front of him.
"Please be honest with me, sir," Izuku said, his intense glare cutting through the doctor's conscience. "I need to know."
The doctor looked down and let out a sigh as he spoke. "The reason for the lack of donors is due to their connection to you. You being...quirkless made them reluctant in providing blood to them."
Izuku's hands tightened into fists as he gritted his teeth angrily when he heard that. 'Quirkless...quirkless...it's always about me being quirkless...'
"I understand," The green-haired teen said before he bowed. "Thank you for your work, doctor."
The doctor could only watch as the boy walked down the hall, a worried expression on his face before he walked away.
'That face...I hope he does not do anything that he will regret...'
As he left the hospital, Izuku went down the streets of Musutafu until he reached his destination which was past a faded and broken sign that was titled 'Musutafu Garbage Dump'. Going inside the place, the teen was surrounded by mountain piles of garbage, some of them being bags and trash compactors that looked like they were not in use.
"It's been a few days but...good." Izuku paused, picking up a huge blue and red backpack that he put on his back. He then took out his phone which showed a location before putting his hands in his pockets with a menacing glare on his face.
"...I think I should go for a walk."
"Man, that was great!" Kumo said while chugging down a can of soda, all of them laughing while eating take-out.
Kemono chuckled as he leaned on a wall and threw Izuku's wallet in the trash before checking his phone. "Deku learned his place, as he should. Don't know what came over him to make him think he could go against us that last time but I'm happy that he straightened out."
"Heh! Well, since we have Deku full-time. Can you ask him about the homework? I didn't do mine and I need someone to copy from." One of the delinquents asked, Kemono smirked. "Got it. I can make him buy some pizza on his way."
They all laughed before they heard the entrance opening and saw a black car going out.
Seeing the entrance closing, Kumo sat on the ground and drank a can of soda. "Your brother is super busy even tonight, huh?"
"Yeah. Probably going out to a bar or something." Kemono said absentmindedly. "Probably some meeting or a takeover."
His answer made Kumo confused as he looked around at his leader's home which is a huge Japanese-style mansion before he whistled. "Why? The dude has Haku City under his thumb along with the Aldera District. What else does he want?"
"Probably Musutafu. Don't know why but that's the reason for the attack. I just added Deku's house in there as an extra incentive. I don't give a shit what big brother Oguro does." Kemono stated as he took another sip of his soda. "He's been eyeing the place for a while but right now, he has been having issues ruling the area, especially now that All Might is here."
"Yeah! All Might mess up everything! I could've gotten a guitar if it wasn't for him!" Kumo complained in an annoyed tone.
"Wasn't All Might supposed to be in Hokkaido or something? What the hell is he doing on this island? Kyushu doesn't have much here. Hell, UA and Shiketsu are in Honshu which makes it even weirder." One of the delinquents said, sprawled on the ground. "At least I can skip school for a while. Any time he comes here, it's like a vacation period."
"Isn't that the truth? Hey! Make Deku take our notes!" Kumo suggested, Kemono nodding as he took out his phone again.
All of them continued having fun until a sudden sound broke through their laughter, causing Kemono to perk up.
"What was that?" Kemono asked, his eyes morphing into slits when he scanned his surroundings. "I'll go check. You guys sit down. I needed a little relief."
"Alright, boss! Don't come back too bloody now!" Kumo joked, getting a chuckle from their blonde leader.
Kemono then sniffed the air, walking towards the darkness as he listened for any noise. Reaching the source of the sound, Kemono looked around only to see a piece of wood lying on the ground.
"What the hell-" The blonde was cut off by a strike at the back of his head. 'What the fuck was that...'
He saw a silhouette behind which made him confused but his confusion turned to anger as he began to transform but he was stopped by a kick to the stomach that made him fall to his knees.
"Fuck! Who the hell are you?" He coughed, looking up at the figure. The figure did not answer but instead rushed at him, much to his concern. "You motherfucker!"
Kemono's hands transformed into claws as he blocked a strike from the assailant. He tried to go for a strike that his opponent dodged before hitting him with a strike that knocked him into the air.
'Shit! What kind of quirk did he hit me with?' Kemono thought as he landed on his feet, the teen shook in anger until he noticed a bat in the assailant's hand. "All of that…was from a bat?!"
"Hey, Kemono? You good?" Two delinquents asked as they came around the corner. "Having problems with a cat?"
The blonde leader turned to his two lackeys as one of them used their eyes as flashlights.
"No! It's just that some bastard over there who-" Kemono turned to see no one in sight, shocking him. "N-no way! How-"
Suddenly, a loud bang echoed through the alley before one of the delinquents yelped in pain as he stumbled and fell to the ground. "Ow!"
"Woah!" The others shouted as they looked around in confusion until one of them noticed a small metal cog on the ground and picked it up.
"It was just a… cog, huh? Weird." He let out a laugh. With a careless shrug, he tossed it over the wall and went over to his unconscious friend. "I hope you're not playing a prank on me!"
Kemono's mind was racing. The cog didn't make sense, and the weirdness of the situation was starting to get under his skin. Before he could fully process the situation, he heard footsteps behind him and turned to catch a glimpse of his own reflection which made his eyes widen in surprise.
"Wha-" The word barely left his lips before a heavy impact struck his temple. Pain coursed through his head as he stumbled for a while until he crumbled to his knees.
Before Kemono could fully recover, a burning spray hit his face, the scent of animal repellent filling his nose and stinging his eyes. Blinded and choking, he barely had time to react when the masked figure closed in, landing a powerful blow to his face that made him fall to the ground.
"Shit!" Kemono said, holding his bleeding nose before he looked up only to see the silhouette. "Who...are you-"
A loud sound echoed through the area, the silhouette attacked Kemono, the blonde trying to stay conscious only to receive a savage beatdown that knocked him out. Each blow landed with precision and the metallic sounds echoed through the area.
"Boss!" The rest of the delinquents said when they heard the noise, shining their flashlights around the place until they saw something that made them terrified.
Standing over a bloodied Kemono was a figure dressed head-to-toe in black, the outfit more akin to a biker's gear. A cracked helmet obscured their face, and their combat boots were smeared with dirt and grime. The person had a huge bag slung on their back. They saw his weapon, a metal bat covered in blood that dripped on the floor. As the individual turned to them, they all saw something glowing within the mask, almost like it was haunted.
The sight was menacing, making some of the delinquents retreated in fear.
As their masked assailant put his metal bat over his shoulder, the delinquents began to speak amongst themselves as they looked at their unconscious boss.
"W-what the hell? This guy is standing there menacingly." One of the delinquents said with a hint of fear.
"Who cares? He's a dumbass to take us all on our own turf!" Another delinquent dashed at the person, his hands transforming into black balls. The masked individual dodged his strikes which made him angry. "Stop dodging and get crushed!"
The masked assailant avoided his last swing which made him lose his balance, much to his distress. "Shit!"
"As expected..." Those were the last words the delinquent heard before he received a strike across his head, knocking him out.
Suddenly, the masked person dodged a ball of web strings, turning to see Kumo who was sprinting towards him. As the spider-quirked teenager went for another strike, the masked figure quickly sidestepped the attack before retaliating with a punch that sent Kumo into a group of delinquents.
"What the hell?" Kumo said as he rubbed his cheek. "H-he isn't even using his quirk...o-or is he?"
Everyone was frozen in shock as the masked assailant turned to them, running towards them with his bat raised.
Before anyone could react, the bat came down hard on one of the teenagers, sending a tooth flying.
"Fuck!" the injured teen shouted in pain.
"He's coming again. Crush him!" Another delinquent announced but he was swiftly defeated by a flurry of strikes to the head.
The masked assailant continued on his rampage, brutally defeating every delinquent that was in his path.
Seeing his classmates falling one after the other, Kumo lunged at the masked attacker who took out a can of bug spray and spewed it into the spider teen's face, causing him to roll around in pain. "Fuck! My eyes! It hurts!"
While Kumo was wriggling on the floor, the masked figure was about to attack him until suddenly he was tackled away, skidding on the floor until he crashed into a wall. Looking up, the masked figure saw a bald man with glowing arms approaching him.
"Looks like someone has some balls to be coming in here and trying to pick a fight with us. You trying to dance in the big halls. Let big brother Titan help ya!" He let out a hearty laugh before he crouched in front of him with a smile. "How does reality feel?"
"Like a headache..." The masked assailant answered. "…let me show you..."
Before Titan could react, the masked figure grabbed him by the collar and slammed his face into the wall with a force that knocked him out cold. Without wasting a second, the figure in black swiftly and brutally defeated more of the delinquents, smacking one in the head. Seeing others coming towards him, he noticed one of them starting to glow, quickly tripping him before throwing him into the others, all of them falling into a pond.
"Damn it! Before my quirk could even activate..." The glowing teenager groaned, holding his head.
"Get the hell off us, man! You're heavy as hell when you use your quirk!" Another shouted.
The masked attacker was about to finish them off but he was suddenly hit by a rock that cracked part of the helmet, showing a glowing green eye in the darkness of the mask.
"You like that? There's more where that came from!" A kid with a durag shouted as he levitated more rocks before throwing them towards him. "Eat rocks!"
The masked individual gripped his bat tightly, swiftly batting away the onslaught of rocks but before he could retaliate, a powerful grip seized him from behind.
"Gotcha now, Tiny!" Titan sneered as he lifted the masked attacker over his head. With a mighty heave, Titan flung the masked figure across the alley but he was able to recover and land on his feet.
"Wasn't expecting for me to be up already, huh Tiny? What are you going to do now against Titan?" Titan grinned as he went for another attack but the masked person grabbed his arm and twisted it, making the man scream. "You damn bastard!"
Titan's arms glowed, unleashing a shockwave that pushed away his attacker, smiling as he turned to his stunned foe.
"Now I'll break you!" He went for another punch but his opponent speedily sidestepped, grabbing his arm and throwing him into a wall.
The masked assailant noticed multiple more rocks coming towards him that he blocked with his bat before he noticed Titan getting up from the distance. Scanning his surroundings, the masked person noticed several people around him, including one who was charging a blast. Going inside his bag, the person took a part of a stop sign out of his bag and threw it towards the person charging the blast, causing it to explode and hurt several others before he heard other voices.
"Kill him!"
"Mess him up!"
Continuing to block the stones, the masked assailant moved out of the way to make the stones hit Titan behind him. All of the people in the area dashed towards the masked assailant who grabbed a few pieces of metal from his bag before throwing them into the air.
"The hell is he doing?" One of the delinquents said with a raised brow.
"Focus." The masked individual said, his eyes watching the opponents before he lifted his bat. "Now."
He hit the pieces of metal, the scrap metal flying like rain as they battered the delinquents, some of them getting knocked out.
"What the?" Someone said before they were grabbed by the face and slammed to the ground.
"Just die!" The teen in a durag said as he redirected the stones towards the masked assailant who deflected them, causing them to fly towards the group.
As everyone was getting pelted by the rocks, the person in black started to slowly approach the person who was shooting the stones at him.
'Is he getting closer? Oh shit!' The teen in the durag thought as he retreated. 'I can't let him get near me.'
His efforts were in vain when the masked person quickly dashed at him and was about to hit him when someone slashed the masked person on his back which made him lose his balance and fall on one knee. Everyone grinned as they gathered around the masked man and beat him up, unaware of him going into his bag.
'Now!' The masked person thought, quickly punching one of the men in his crotch before he rolled over and shot a wave of flames that burnt the group.
"What the hell? He has a fire quirk?" One of the delinquents said in surprise.
"Why did he decide to use it now?" Another person asked as they had to dodge another wave of flames.
Kumo quickly regained his eyesight before he saw Kemono recovering as well. Turning to the fight, he noticed the masked person fighting them with a lighter and a can of aerosol in his hands.
"He doesn't have a fire quirk!" Kumo gritted his teeth. "He's using a lighter!"
The spider-quirked teenager quickly crawled up the wall and shot balls of webs which were burnt by his foe while Kemono sprinted and slashed the assailant who blocked it with his bat. Using the momentum, the attacker dashed at full speed, tackling one of the goons into the wall.
"Woah! He's fast!" Kumo said as he tried to shoot him but his target disappeared in the darkness. Kumo crawled further up into the air as Kemono tried to sniff him out.
"Anything, Kemono?" Kumo asked.
"No, the motherfucker messed up my nose with that damn repellent." Kemono cursed as he rubbed his nose.
They searched the place in silence, trying to find their opponent until they heard a clanging sound and then one of the delinquents fell to the ground.
"How?" The blonde wolf said before another fell. "Where?"
Kemono and Kumo could only watch as their group was getting knocked out left and right by random projectiles like cogs, stones, and random pieces of machinery.
"Shit! This isn't funny anymore! Show yourself!" Kemono's eyes were red with rage as he dashed blindly into the darkness.
As he tried to chase after his prey in the darkness, all of them were unaware of the fact that the masked individual was inspecting every house with a cracked phone in his hand. He then came across a huge storage room beside the mansion, approaching it with a rusty metal pole.
"It should be here."
Before he could open the room, Kemono attacked him which knocked off his helmet, he and Kumo grinned victoriously at what they had done.
"Finally, you're dea-" He was cut off by a kick to the gut that sent him back.
Getting up, the two delinquents' eyes widened in shock when they saw the person. Under the helmet was Izuku Midoriya, his eyes devoid of light and bloodshot, a haunting sight that left the delinquents in shocked silence.
"Deku?" The two muttered in unison, both caught off guard by the reveal.
The person who took them apart like it was nothing. The person who was beating them ruthlessly and brutally. The person who nearly defeated everyone in their gang was Deku. The quirkless nerd that they always bullied.
There was a moment of silence as Kumo was stunned while Kemono shook in rage, grinding his teeth as he processed the situation.
'You mean to tell me that Deku, THAT DEKU, was the person who did all of this?' Kemono thought before he observed his surroundings, seeing the piles of bloody bodies around him. 'I can't believe it! That…that…that…'
"Deku?! You fucking bastard!" He shouted out of rage, his body transforming into that of a huge blonde wolf as he lunged at the green-haired teenager.
Kemono went for a slash that Izuku dodged, about to go for a swing but he was stopped by Kumo who kicked him in the back. Quickly recovering, Izuku grabbed one of Kumo's legs and then flung the spider into a wall. From his peripheral, he barely dodged a slash from Kemono before he blocked a web string from his arachnid opponent who was coming towards him.
Izuku went for a punch that Kumo dodged, the attempt making him laugh as he hopped off the wall and slashed Izuku.
"Is this some sick joke?" The spider teen said as he dodged another attack before shooting a web string at Izuku and throwing him into the wall. "Pathetic!"
Izuku could barely get the chance to think when he was struck in the stomach by Kemono before being slammed onto the ground.
"You have the gall to do this, Dek-" Kemono was cut off by a kick to the face but he persevered and retaliated by biting Izuku's shoulder before tossing him onto the ground. "You're going to wish you died!"
Izuku quickly took out a can of animal repellant and was about to spray but Kumo knocked the can out of his hand and shot a ball of web that stuck Izuku onto the ground.
'Crap! This isn't good. I gotta-' Izuku was hit by a punch that made his head slam into the pavement, making his head ring in pain.
Kemono and Kumo laughed as they started pummeling Izuku.
"Ain't that sad? All of that but you're still a worthless Deku!" Kemono said with a grin, his fists slamming onto the green-haired teenager's face as he tried to block their strikes with one arm.
Kumo smacked away his other arm before he stabbed one of his spider legs into Izuku's side causing him to hiss in pain.
"I didn't think you were stupid enough to fight someone with a quirk. You're just a quirkless reject! This is why we never fight!"
Izuku clenched his teeth and ignored the pain as he tried to use his free arm to dig through his bag. 'C'mon. It should be here.'
"Learn your place, Deku! You're at the bottom of the barrel! A true piece of trash just like everyone else like you! All quirkless people exist just to be servants for us!"
"Yeah! You're nothing but a piece of shit and nothing else!" Kumo shouted as he pushed his leg deeper into Izuku's wound.
'Alright, I just need one moment. Just one. Kumo's webbing isn't that thick so that's good.' Izuku thought as he looked at his wound. 'The wound should not be that deep. Think!'
The two animal-quirked students laughed as they continued until Izuku spat in Kemono's face, causing him to pause. The blonde wiped the spit off his face and looked at his hand, his hands trembling before he glared at Izuku.
"You want to die, don't you?!" Kemono shouted in pure rage.
Izuku did not waste time as he quickly cut himself free, grabbed Kumo, and pulled him to get hit by Kemono's strike, much to the leader's surprise. Not losing a beat, Izuku headbutted the animal-quirk user before he got up and kicked him in the gut.
'Good thing Kumo's legs are not as strong and flexible as they should be.' Izuku thought as he grabbed his bloody side. 'Unlike Kemono, he doesn't get much of a strength boost from his transformation.'
"No..." The green-haired teenager heard Kemono behind him getting up. "Not to you…"
Thinking quickly, Izuku took off his bag and slammed it onto the wolf's head which made him fall to the ground. The teen then quickly moved out of Kumo's attack before he picked up his bat, dodging the spider's legs before he swung his weapon upwards which hit his opponent on the chin.
"You will never win a fight against me so don't think you can now!" Kumo quickly shot strings of webs which Izuku avoided before slamming down the bat onto the spider's head, knocking him to the ground.
"I hate you."
The words came out cold and steady, chilling Kumo to his core. He looked up, his eyes widening in fear as he saw Izuku advancing on him, the sound of the metallic bat dragging along the floor echoing ominously through the mansion. The eerie clanging seemed to amplify the tension in the air, each step Izuku took sending shivers down Kumo's spine.
"I always… hated you all…" Izuku continued, his voice low and filled with deep-seated anger. His grip on the bat tightened, knuckles whitening as his eyes shone with rage. "You guys...hurt my family...all because I'm quirkless..."
The hatred in Izuku's eyes was unmistakable, a burning intensity that made Kumo realize he was facing a version of the green-haired teenager he had never encountered before.
One fueled by raw, unbridled rage.
"Honestly…" Izuku raised his bat at Kumo with a menacing glare, his expression indifferent. "...you deserve this."
Growling with rage, the orange-haired spider looked at Izuku in pure malice before he lunged at Izuku. "DEKU!"
Izuku stayed quiet as he blocked Kumo's strikes before smacking away his legs.
'Just wait, Izuku. Not yet. His quirk allows for enhanced vision like a spider.' He thought, watching Kumo's movements until he retaliated with a heavy blow that pushed the spider teen back. 'His legs are maybe sharp but if someone's too close, he can't fold his extra feet too close.'
As the two continued their bout, Izuku started to move closer to his spider-quirked teenager as the two traded blows with each other. Getting in close to Kumo, the green-haired teenager swung his bat with all his might which made Kumo laugh as he went towards the weapon.
"Didn't you know I can block this?" Kumo said as he tried to get his feet toward the weapon but failed when he noticed they were too far away. "There's no way…how?"
"Just as I expected." Izuku swung the bat with all his might, the weapon crashing into Kumo's face, knocking a few teeth loose and sending him back.
Kumo struggled to push himself off the ground, his jaw shattered and blood dripping onto the cold pavement beneath him. As he managed to lift his head, his bloodied hands trembling, he was met with a sight that froze him in place. Izuku stood over him, his glare piercing through Kumo's very being.
'How? How is he so strong? How is he so damn strong?' Kumo's thoughts went awry as his body shook with rage as Izuku approached him. 'He is just a pathetic worm.'
"All you had to do...was leave me alone, Kumo..." Izuku panted heavily as he tried to balance himself on his bat. "...do you enjoy hurting people...I don't understand...I'm so done with this..."
"You're just a pathetic worm!" Kumo roared, his distorted voice echoing through the place.
"And yet you're the one squirming..." Izuku said as he went into his bag.
"You damn...nerd!" The orange-haired delinquent shook in anger as Izuku braced for an attack.
Remembering something, a smile appeared on Kumo's face before he glared at Izuku. "Ok then, Deku! I guess it's time to let you know why you should obey us!"
"Huh?" Izuku thought before he had to block a barrage of web strings.
Tearing off the web from his bat, he then noticed Kumo jumping on one of the walls and going towards a storage shed.
Realizing what Kumo was going to do, Izuku quickly chased after him. "Oh no! Yu!"
Kumo laughed heartily as he dashed towards the shed. "I hope you know that this is all your fault! All you had to do is do as we say!"
'Not again.' Izuku said, having enough of being weak. He then rummaged through his bag, his eyes focused on Kumo. 'Not again!'
Quickly taking out a can of aerosol and pulling out his lighter, Izuku quickly wrapped some paper around the can and lit it. Not wasting time, he then threw the can into the air, his eyes focused on the spider-quirked teenager before he picked up his bat and swatted the can with all his might.
On his way to the storage shed, Kumo laughed maniacally until something hit him. He turned around to see the burning can inches from his face, much to his confusion.
"What the hell-"
The can exploded, creating a powerful shockwave that pushed Izuku back. As the explosion subsided, the teen heard a thud, seeing Kumo's smoking body on the ground.
"Is he...dead?" Izuku wondered as he walked to the body.
He saw the smoking body twitching, showing signs of life which made Izuku wear an indifferent look.
"I guess...that takes care of that..." Izuku panted as he walked towards the shed with a singular goal on his mind. 'Yu...'
As he was about to open the door, someone suddenly grabbed him before being thrown away into a wall, the collision creating a crater and knocking the wind out of him. Clutching his aching head and feeling the pain coursing through his back, Izuku looked up to see Kemono approaching him, his face bloodied, jaw broken, and some teeth missing from his mouth.
"You…disgusting…piece of shit…you and your worthless family…should all die…"
Hearing those words, Izuku tightened his fists and gritted his teeth, anger present on his face as his body began to illuminate. "That's it...I'm so done with you all…"
Slowly getting to his feet, he put his bat over his shoulder and braced himself. Seeing Kemono appearing in front of him, Izuku was able to block his strike but it knocked him off balance before he suffered from a punch that sent him into a wall. "Damn it..."
"Do you see the difference between us? You're just shit! Nothing more! I should've killed your family!" Kemono shouted, going for a swipe which Izuku rolled out of the way of before the green-haired teenager retaliated by taking out pieces of metal that he batted towards the wolf.
Kemono cursed as the metallic pieces battered him before he lunged at Izuku, going for a slash that grazed the freckled assailant's cheek and ear. Despite the damage he took, Izuku smacked the wolf-quirked teen in the face, knocking him back but he immediately recovered and bared his fangs at his opponent.
"DIE!" Kemono roared, his voice dripping with murderous intent. He lunged forward again, mouth wide open, aiming to sink his teeth into Izuku. However, Izuku, quick on his feet, retreated just in time, narrowly avoiding the bite. With a swift motion, he unleashed a wave of flames that went directly into Kemono's mouth, causing him to cough profusely. "Mother...fucker..."
Taking advantage of the situation, Izuku grabbed Kemono by the head and kicked him in the chin, making him fall back. Getting up, Kemono went for a barrage of slashes that Izuku blocked until he retreated. Quickly taking something out of his bag, Izuku went under the wolf's strike and smacked him on his leg, causing him to fall on his knee.
"Fuck!" Kemono shouted in pain before something tightened around his neck which caused him to lose air. "Shit! What the hell?"
The blonde wolf noticed the chains around his neck before he looked behind him, seeing Izuku who was pulling the chains. Veins appeared on Kemono's head as he tried to attack Izuku but he missed, Izuku wrapping the chains around his arms.
"D-Deku! You're just a-" The wolf snarled before he began to choke as he thrashed about in his chains.
"Weakling! I know! I'm weaker than you but I don't care!" Izuku shouted as he pulled with all his might, causing Kemono's vision to black out slowly. "All I want is to do something for myself! I didn't ask to be quirkless! I didn't want my parents to be hurt!"
'I can't believe it...when did he...why did he...' Kemono said, his head slowly turning blue. '...it's already embarrassing enough that my group was beaten...but to have me like this like I'm some damn dog...no way...no way...'
"FUCK OFF!" Kemono shouted at the top of his lungs, his body growing in size before he managed to smack Izuku's bandaged arm with his tail, causing the grip on his neck to loosen.
Being able to breathe, he grabbed the green-haired teenager and hurled him away. Hitting a wall, Izuku quickly recovered before he threw a bunch of marbles on the ground which made the wolf lose his balance and fall forward only to be hit by Izuku's bat, knocking a few teeth out of his mouth.
"Don't you remember what happened last time? So why do you defy me?! Don't you know who I am?!" Kemono fumed in anger, veins appearing on his head as he let out a roar. "I am Sento Kemono!"
"Yeah, I know..." Izuku said with a serious expression, gripping his bat. "...and I don't care."
There was a moment as the two teenagers eyed each other, Kemono's body transforming fully into a wolf as he hunched over, ready to attack.
"Well, it's your funeral." Kemono's low, beast-like voice echoed through the mansion as he glared at Izuku.
Izuku's body began to glow, the intensity of his aura growing as he took a step forward. There was no fear in his eyes, only deep-seated anger. His green hair started to move wildly as the two teenagers slowly approached each other.
"I'LL KILL YOU!" Kemono lunged like a bullet towards Izuku who braced himself and blocked the attack, the blonde wolf grinning evilly. "You are just weak, Deku."
"Shut up..." Izuku said as they went for another clash.
A collision echoed through the mansion as the two repeatedly clashed with each other, Izuku slowly being pushed back as Kumo started overpowering him.
"You see this, Deku! I'm stronger than you! I'm better than you! You! Are! Nothing!" Kemono laughed.
"Shut up," Izuku muttered darkly.
Feeling the pain from his injuries coursing through his body as veins started to protrude from his body, Izuku felt fear coursed through his body as Kemono continued to push him back, a huge, feral smile on his face as the bat began to bend.
"I win, Deku!" Kemono lashed out, slashing Izuku at his side before he threw him into a storage box, the green-haired teen feeling the wind knocked out of his lungs. "You see that? One arm is all I need!"
As they continued the fight, Izuku used all the tools he could but Kemono bulldozed through them. Making some distance between them, Izuku rolled under a swing from his opponent before he received a slash to his arm, holding it as he saw the blonde wolf in front of him.
'I can't beat him like this...every tool I have barely worked...' Izuku thought as he blocked several slashes from Kemono that pushed him back. 'I was banking on taking him out first because I don't have a lot of options against him apart from a sneak attack.'
The green-haired teenager then jumped over a pond, trying to go into his bag but Kemono was too fast, landing a slash across Izuku's shoulder that cut off his shoulder strap, making his bag fall to the ground. The delinquent did not waste time as he tackled Izuku, sending the teen flying away from his bag and his back hitting a wall.
"Has reality hit yet, Deku?" Kemono spoke with a villainous smile, looking at Izuku's panting form. "You will never beat me! Quirkless people can never beat a quirked person! Never in the hero business and never now! Remember what I said: no men are created equal!"
Izuku's gaze was directed on the ground, pain screaming throughout his body as he noticed the blood dripping from his mouth. Looking up, he used his bat to push himself off the ground as his eyes glowed dimly before he lifted his bat.
"People can say what they want. They don't know you, Izuku."
Izuku remembered his father's words, seeing his reflection on the metallic bat. He then took a deep breath as he got up, hissing at the echoes of pain echoing through his body as he watched Kemono rushing towards him.
"You are smart, you are strong. Hell, try to combine those talents to make something of yourself."
Izuku braced himself as he observed his opponent's movements, gripping his bat with all his might as he started mumbling. "Remember baseball practice, Izuku. You're not going to get a home run if you swing wildly. It's all about precision and timing. Keep your posture."
"Never in my life have I regretted giving birth to you. My baby, Izuku Midoriya." Izuku remembered his mother's words, his mind giving a flash of the two in the hospital which made him angry as he went into one of the pouches wrapped around his belt.
With his feet apart, the green-haired teenager took a deep breath as he took out multiple bolts and screws and batted them toward Kemono who quickly dodged them. "This trick again?!"
"Keep holding your head high and never give up!" All Might's words rang in Izuku's head, fueling the fire within him as his body slowly began to glow.
"Shut the hell up," Izuku's intimidating stare made Kemono's hair stand straight and his body twitch before the wolf noticed a black object in front of him. 'Is that a flashbang?'
An explosion of light illuminated the area, blinding Kemono before he felt multiple strikes around his body. Able to regain his sight, the blonde wolf noticed the bat coming at him like a missile. "My name isn't Deku..."
"Izuku, you're our son and we are proud to have you in this world."
"My name is Izuku Midoriya!" Izuku roared, pouring every ounce of his strength into the final swing.
Within seconds, the bat collided with his face which caused a loud clanging sound echoing the place. Using the rest of his strength, Izuku used all his might to slam him into the ground, creating a crater. Kemono's body crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
Izuku's glow faded as he dropped to one knee, using the bat to keep himself upright. Panting heavily and seeing Kemono's motionless form, Izuku wore a triumphant smile before he spoke. "I... beat him."
Izuku looked around the place as he suddenly realized what he had done.
"I...beat them," Izuku repeated, seeing his bullies sprawled on the ground, unconscious, broken, and bloodied. "I did...a lot..."
There was a moment of silence as Izuku took the time to catch his breath. After searching their bodies and wiping the blood from his face, Izuku limped his way to the storage shed, taking out his phone during the process. "They should still be open."
Reaching the shed, Izuku broke the lock with a swift strike and swung the door open. Inside, a group of injured people, mostly women and children, looked up in surprise. Relief washed over their faces as they saw the light pouring in.
"Oh, someone saved us!" a woman exclaimed, her voice trembling with hope.
But as they took in Izuku's bloodstained clothes and battered appearance, their relief turned to worry. The celebration ceased, replaced by concerned, wary gazes.
"Y-you're not one of those guys, right?" a young boy asked, his voice shaking.
"Did Mom and Dad call for you?" another child asked, clutching his sister's hand tightly.
"Are you with the police? Please tell me you're with the police."
Izuku shook his head, trying to offer them some reassurance.
"The police... they weren't-" He corrected himself quickly. "I mean, they weren't well-informed of the situation. They're not going to be of much help unless you call them yourselves…"
His eyes darted around the room, taking in their tattered, dirty clothes and the fear etched into their faces. Determined, he moved swiftly, breaking chains and helping them to their feet, guiding them toward the door. As Izuku wandered further into the shed, his eyes widened when he saw a crying Yumemi who was being cradled by a long, orange-haired woman.
"Yu!" Izuku muttered which got the little girl's attention before she ran towards him, tears coming out of her eyes as she hugged him. "Uku!"
"Yu...it's going to be alright...it's going to be alright..." Izuku embraced her reassuringly, the teen feeling a huge weight off his shoulders.
Despite this, he felt a well of anger building up in him when he saw the scars and burns on his sister's body. Looking at everyone else who had scared and worried expressions, Izuku could not help but feel disgusted by the actions of the men within this household.
'This is just...sick. Very sick.' He thought as he put down Yumemi and told her to sit down.
Humming happily, the little girl cocked her head to the side. "Uku?"
"I'll be right back, Yu. Big brother's gonna check up on something, ok?" He patted her head and smiled at her before he looked at everyone and made an announcement. "I-I'm going to get you all out of here but first, I-I need to make sure that the coast is clear. In the meantime, here."
Izuku threw his phone to one of the hostages who was a brunette with long hair that looked to be the same age as his mother. "Please call the police…maybe through you, they will be able to listen to your situation…"
"Through me…what do you mean?"
"It's…complicated. And we don't have much time. C'mon." Izuku told the girl who nodded before she made her call, explaining the situation while Izuku dashed outside and looked around, chaining up any unconscious person and guard that he came across. 'Good thing, they were my school bullies so I have a good knowledge of their quirks."
Finishing his quest, Izuku returned to the storage shed to see everyone preparing themselves. Picking up his sister, he noticed that the woman finished with her call, handing back the phone to him which he refused. "If they call back, it's best if they talk to you."
The green-haired teenager turned to everyone before he took a deep breath. "Alright, everyone. Gather up. Apart from the guys I knocked out, the boss and his gang are out right now. If we need to leave, we have to do it now and quietly."
Everyone nodded as they made their way to the entrance, Izuku making sure to protect them by being at the front of the group. Reaching the front gate, he was about to gesture them to leave until he heard something. "Stay back."
He saw a black car with tinted windows approaching the place which surprised him.
"How did he come back so quick? I thought he was planning to spend the night out." Izuku clicked his teeth before he noticed the captives starting to panic.
"How are we going to get out of here?"
"We're doomed! We're doomed!"
"We're going to be killed."
Izuku looked at their expressions before he observed the place, racking his brain until he stood straight with an idea as he opened the gates to let in the car.
"Calm down, everyone. Just stay here. I'll act as a decoy and buy time. Use that chance to get away." Izuku went into his bag, taking out a tattered All Might doll and giving it to Yumemi who was happy as she hugged it. Seeing the smile on her face, he wiped a smear on her cheek and kissed her on the forehead. "Big brother has to go for a while. Be a good girl, ok?"
She nodded before he gave her to one of the refugees who took the girl. Seeing him walking out, the woman grabbed his hand, the teen looking back at her to see a worried expression. "What are you doing? You'll die."
Izuku looked at the bunch of men who were angered as one of them noticed some of their men being chained. "I know. Trust me, I know. But it's better for me to get captured than all of you. Just...[lease protect my sister. Look for someone named Inko Midoriya, she is her mother. I want her to be safe. I want you all safe. Now go."
"But-" The woman tried to protest.
"It'll be fine. I'll be ok. For the first time in my life, I feel like I'm worth something. Don't make my efforts be in vain please." Izuku said with a huge smile. That was the last thing the woman heard as the teen ran towards the approaching group while he donned his biker helmet and bat. Izuku suddenly heard an alarm, hearing loud commotions before he heard Oguro's bellows in the distance. "Those fucking bitches! They escaped! How did they beat my men? Even my brother?"
"There they are!" One of the men pointed at the entrance, the whole of them seeing Izuku approaching them. "Who the hell is that?"
"Who cares? Kill him!"
Seeing the men dashing towards him, he took out a can of aerosol and wrapped it around with paper then ignited it before he flung it towards the group. The can exploded, creating a wave of fire that stopped the men. "Shit! Fuck!"
'Alright, this is it.' Izuku made a mad dash towards them, knocking out some of the men as he used the flames as an advantage. While he was taking them on, the teen noticed that the refugees had escaped which made him smile before he was suddenly hit by a pipe.
"Damn-oof!" The teen felt a heavy blow to his stomach from Oguro, making his eyes roll back before the other men laughed as they grabbed his hands. They all laughed as they brutally beat him up, causing his head to slump forward and become dizzy. "C...ra...p..."
'I guess this is it.' Izuku thought, pushing back his fear as Oguro's arms started to get bigger as he raised his fist. "It's your funeral."
"Never fear!"
A voice echoed through the mansion before someone descended from the sky to the ground which caused a huge shockwave that blew everyone back. Izuku's eyes barely turned to see All Might who glared at the villains after noticing the injured teenager in their grasp. The hero's smile turned to a frown as his lightning-blue eyes struck fear in their souls.
"...For I am here."
Chapter 5: Deku No More Part 2
Police sirens could be heard in the distance, the men were frozen in shock when they saw the silhouette emerging from the smoke in front of them.
Before the gangsters was All Might who was frowning, his expression along with lightning blue eyes striking fear in the men. Despite the immense pressure they all felt from the presence of the Number One hero, some of them picked their weapons as they went to fight him. "Even if it's All Might! It's all of us against him! We can win!"
The Number One hero suddenly vanished, and everyone was confused before he knocked out several of the goons, Izuku not noticing that he was on the ground and his captors were unconscious. 'What...happened?'
"Oguro Kemono. The leader of the Ogre Mafia gang. You're under arrest for human trafficking and a multitude of kidnapping cases. It would be best if you comply." All Might stated as he walked towards the blonde leader.
Izuku's eyes widened in shock when he heard the name. 'Wait, Oguro Kemono? That's Kemono's brother?! I thought he was just a part of the gang, not the leader.'
"Well, Number One. I won't comply. But..." Oguro stabbed himself with a needle with a black substance inside of it, putting it in himself before he threw away the needle.
His body began to show veins as he grew bigger, his eyes turning black and his hair becoming spikier as he towered over All Might.
"You're going to have to stop me, Number One." His distorted voice caused chills to Izuku's body as he tried to will back the urge to vomit.
The ogre sprinted towards All Might, throwing a punch that was stopped, producing a shockwave that resulted in the ground below them collapsing. He went for another punch which the hero clashed against, creating a huge crater.
"Holy shit! All Might is powerful! Every punch that he throws is a damn hurricane!" One of the grunts commented as he watched the fight, another pointing at Oguro. "Yeah, but the boss is holding his own though!"
This continued for a while, Izuku getting up before he noticed the men being mesmerized by the fight, taking the chance to leave the place. 'I need…to leave…'
Seeing that he was able to hold his own against All Might, Oguro started hollering which confused the blonde hero. "What's wrong, Number One? Did you meet your match?"
All Might resumed trading blows with the huge ogre, glad to see that Izuku was able to leave the mansion before he stopped Oguro's punch with ease, much to his surprise. "Sorry, sir. I was a bit distracted. Had to stretch before using my full power. Now hold on to your socks! This one's gonna hurt!"
"Huh? You don't need to lie, All Might! Now die!" Oguro laughed as he swung his other fist with all his strength.
"Detroit…" All Might ducked under his swing before he retaliated with his own punch, his fist moving like a bullet toward Oguro's face.
"SMASH!" The punch collided with the ogre's face, causing him to be launched into the sky, the clash creating a blast of wind that sent the gang flying back.
Seeing Oguro plummeting to the ground in his injured, normal state, All Might leaped into the air and caught the man before putting handcuffs on him while he landed in front of the remaining members of the Ogre gang.
"You're all under arrest." All Might stated as he lifted several handcuffs. "Do not resist."
Seeing the situation, the men relinquished their weapons and surrendered to the blonde hero and the police. After the disaster was over, Izuku leaned on the wall and watched the men being arrested, the teen sighed before the orange-haired woman came to him with Yumemi in her grasp.
"You're ok! That's great. You're ok, right?" The woman asked to which Izuku weakly nodded, the two seeing the police officers and All Might having a discussion.
After some time had passed, they saw an SUV come onto the scene, Chief Kondo came out of the car and observed the place with a proud smile on his face before he went to All Might. "All Might sir, amazing work! You helped us there! We were searching for them but they keep giving us the slip!"
"I see. At least now the gang has been dealt with and will be going behind bars. I am surprised that the police are here." All Might smiled and made a handshake with the chief.
The police chief then turned to the captives with a smile. "Not to worry, everyone! We're here to help you! Thanks to All Might, you are all safe!"
All of the victims collectively let out a sigh of relief as some of them celebrated.
"That's great!"
"I can go home."
"I want my Mom!"
The orange-haired woman walked to the group with a concerned expression.
"Hey. That kid over there is heavily wounded. Do you know when the ambulance is coming?" She said, pointing to a wounded Izuku who was leaning on the wall.
Chief Kondo's smile fell the moment he noticed the green-haired teenager before he approached the teenager. Catching a glimpse of a pair of feet in front of him, Izuku looked up to see a disgusted glare on the man's face.
"What are you doing here?" Chief Kondo said with a repulsive tone.
"He found us in the storage shed and saved us before All Might came." The orange-haired woman answered as Yumemi woke up and then went to her brother.
Chief Kondo was surprised by the information before he crouched down to Izuku. "How did you know where they were hidden here? Apart from All Might's group, the only people who should know this is anyone who is affiliated with the gang."
The officers had differing expressions as they looked at each other, the group deep in thought. "He might have a point. He probably went with the bad crowd. I mean, he's quirkless. Probably acting out."
Izuku was surprised by their accusations, some of the people gave him judgmental stares at him before he spoke. "I-I told you a few days ago...when I got the message-"
"You got a message from them? Then that means you must be a part of their gang!" Kondo concluded, Izuku was surprised by his sudden accusation before he saw the evil grin on his face. "N-no. My family was-"
"Oh, I see. You're trying to act innocent to escape us, huh? Shifting the blame to them to save your own skin. Smart but not smart enough. Take him away!"
The officers had conflicted looks on their faces before they went to the teenager, Izuku slowly moved Yumemi away from him when he noticed some of them raising their weapons. The toddler stretched her hands toward her brother, quickly getting in front of Izuku, and then grabbed one of the officer's pants with a serious expression. "Da! Dara!"
'What is this?' The officers had conflicted looks as one of them tried to gently remove Yumemi from his leg. "C'mon, little girl. I don't want to hurt you."
"Y-Yu! Come here...to big brother." Izuku weakly said, trying to lift himself from the wall and enduring the pain that coursed through his body. The officers grabbed the teenager, and his sister cried as she ran to him.
"Yu! It's ok. Plea-" He paused when he saw Kondo coming towards the girl with his foot in the air, his heart fell as his body let out a dim glow. 'No...'
Naomasa noticed the man in the distance along with All Might, his eyes widened in shock as one of the officers grabbed the chief. "Chief Kondo! No!"
"Sir! You need to stop!"
The chief shook the officer off before he swung his foot at the toddler, Izuku's body started to pulsate with veins as he gritted his teeth.
"Oh no!" The woman screamed as they heard the collision.
After a moment of silence, Chief Kondo smirked until he noticed that his foot was stopped by Izuku who was protecting Yumemi. The teen then gave him a menacing glare that made him step back.
"Don't you dare...hurt...my sister..." Izuku could barely word out, the glow on his body dissipating.
"You…you…" Chief Kondo shook in anger.
He then relentlessly kicked Izuku, the boy not moving an inch as he protectively hugged his sister who started crying. "Uku! Uku!"
"You dare threaten a police officer, brat?!" Kondo shouted in anger as he grabbed his gun, much to everyone's surprise. "Do you know that is punishable by the law?"
"I don't care...what you do...to me. As long as...my sister is safe..." Izuku answered as he took the beating, patting Yumemi whose face was filled with tears.
Shaking in anger, the chief turned red as he aimed his gun at the teen but was stopped by his fellow police officers. "Chief Kondo sir! Don't you think that is going a bit too far? He did come to us about this incident and regarding his sister's disappearance-"
"You dare not listen?! Who cares about a quirkless kid and his useless sister? For all we know, the sister is also a defect like him." Chief Kondo shook out of their grasp and was about to shoot the teen who braced for it as the officer yelled at him. "Sir! Don't!"
A gunshot sound pierced through the air, causing a moment of silence.
For a minute, Izuku felt no new pain or discomfort before he noticed All Might in front of him, the blonde hero opened his hand which made a bullet fall to the ground.
"What is going on here, officer?" All Might said, his tone mixed with disbelief and anger.
Kondo stuttered as he looked around the place, his fellow men sharing a shocked look before he decided to point at Izuku. "That kid obstructed police business! He threatened an officer! H-h-he's a part of the Ogre gang!"
"Interesting for you to say that." Naomasa approached the two, having a notebook in his hands. "With my investigation on this group, there is no information or signs on their members list of a quirkless student."
The Police Chief started sweating bullets as the detective continued. "In fact, it is the opposite, members of this group and their family members terrorized people and students of this area and started to set their sights on Musutafu, one of the victims being this boy's family. The fact that the school buried the crimes because of his quirklessness is deplorable. Plus, All Might is aware of and present for one of such events of them bullying this student. It does not warrant him being here but it explains his actions and reason of being at this place."
"U-uh-um..." Kondo thought about his words.
"I believe we should drop this. We have done extensive research on this and like Detective Naomasa said, neither the boy nor his family have any criminal records." All Might stated before he walked towards the group of kidnapped people and reassured them. Turning to Kondo, the hero's stare pierced through the police chief's soul as he spoke. "I will be reporting this to the higher-ups. This cannot stand."
All Might then crouched to Izuku, his eyes widened when he saw the unconscious look on the teen's face which made him crack a small smile. 'Amazing. This kid...he has promise.'
As the ambulance came and gathered all the injured, the hero picked up the boy's unconscious body and put it on one of the stretchers along with Yumemi before he held a thumbs up.
'You're amazing, young Midoriya.' He thought before turning to see the piles of unconscious and broken bodies in the Kemono mansion. 'To think he did all of that by himself.'
It was morning when Izuku woke up to his sister crying, the teen jumped out of his sleep to see that he was in a hospital room, parts of his body wrapped in bandages.
"W-what happened? Where am I?" He looked around the place before he heard Yumemi's crying in a smaller bed near him. He quickly rushed over to her, cradling her as he noticed the bandages on her arms and cheek. "It's ok, Yu. It's gonna be okay."
Able to stop her crying, he noticed that she was hungry which made him smile a little. "Alright, let's get you some food."
Looking around the place, Izuku took her to the cafeteria for breakfast, feeding Yumemi while he was munching on a loaf of bread. A feeling of happiness went across Izuku when he saw his sister hum in delight while eating the food, wiping the crumbs off her face before he remembered the events from yesterday.
He remembered the things he did that night, the people he had beaten. Everything.
Even though they deserved it. It was still not within his choice to do that. He was not a police officer.
Izuku looked at his food and then at Yumemi, his hands tightened into fists. 'I don't regret anything.'
After they finished eating, the two Midoriya children went to their parents' hospital room to see their parents sleeping, Yumemi waved at her parents. "Mama! Papa!"
"Our parents are sleeping, Yu! We're going to have to wait until they wake up, ok?" Izuku told his sister who nodded happily before he went to his bag and took out her toys.
As she played with her toys, Izuku held onto his parents' hands with a somber expression on his face. "Mom, Dad. This could be the last time I get to talk to you. I may get jail time for my actions and honestly...I don't care."
He looked at his sister who walked up to him to play with her, a smile on his face as he obliged. 'I don't regret saving your life one bit. But I hope that you will be safe, Yumemi."
Suddenly, the door opened loudly before All Might popped his head through the room which surprised the teen. "I am here. Silently."
"All Might? W-what are you doing here?" Izuku said in surprise, his sister hiding behind his leg. All Might gestured to the teenager outside of the room. Izuku picked up Yumemi and walked outside of the room. "It's ok. Yu. Sorry about her. She's not good with strangers."
"I understand." The blonde hero bowed to the little girl, much to the teenager's surprise. "I also want to apologize as well."
"Huh?" Izuku and Yumemi blinked in unison.
"I promised you that I would make sure to keep you safe and deal with the Oguro gang but I did not keep my end of the bargain as quickly as I should." All Might said with a sorrowful tone.
Izuku was surprised by the gesture but he took a deep breath. "It's...ok, All Might. It's not your fault. It's because of me...I know that being quirkless was looked down upon but for my family to pay for this..."
"Your family?" The Number One hero looked inside the room to see the teen's parents, their condition causing the man to feel a pang of guilt. As he looked at Izuku's parents, his eyes widened when his eyes laid on Inko. "M-master?"
"What?" Izuku looked at him which made the man clear his throat.
"I meant to say that I apologize again for this. What happened?"
"They were attacked by the latest Ogre gang attack...they were seriously injured by it." Izuku started shaking as he hugged Yumemi like she was a lifeline. "I'm looking for someone who can do a blood transfusion with them to save their life. And I've been informed that Dad needs surgery done."
Seeing the pained expression on the teen's face, All Might took out a phone and made a call which confused the teen. "Hello, Edgeshot."
Finishing his call, the blonde hero made a smile as he put his hand on Izuku's shoulder. "Never fear."
"Huh?" Izuku raised a brow.
After a few hours, a couple of doctors and nurses came into the room before they bowed at All Might who nodded. "Please...do what you can."
"Understood. It's going to take a while. Will it be ok for you both to wait outside please while we start the surgery?" All Might nodded while Izuku was confused as he was escorted out of the room while the operation started.
"W-what?" Izuku muttered in disbelief, pinching himself to wonder if he was dreaming. "What's happening?"
"They are going to help your parents." Izuku turned to the Number One Hero, his face showing complete disbelief.
There was a singular thought on his mind as he looked down out of shock and confusion. "W-why? Thank you but why?"
"Because it's the right thing to do." All Might answered matter-of-factly, putting a hand on the verdette's shoulder."And heroes always do the right thing."
"The right thing…" Izuku muttered which did not go unnoticed by All Might.
"Being a hero is more than beating villains and saving people. It is to ensure a society of peace. To lend a helping hand to those who truly need it."
Izuku just sat down on the bench, rubbing his wristbands before he glanced at the ceiling. As his parents were going through the operation, the teen had an exhausted expression on his face before he leaned on the wall, a singular question coming to his mind.
"That reminds me," Izuku spoke. "How is my case for the incident? I'm guessing that they are either going to give me a big sentence for what I did, right?"
"They will give you a light sentence. Nothing too bad to ruin your record. I pleaded for your case and that is what became of the conclusion." All Might explained, Izuku letting out a sigh while patting Yumemi who took a nap. "It's…ok. I deserve it. I was expecting worse."
"Young Midoriya." Izuku looked at the blonde hero who stood in front of him with a serious expression. "Your actions were reckless, dangerous, and could have led to many casualties if not for outside interference."
"I know...I know but..." Izuku's hands shook as he looked at his sleeping sister, pushing the hair out of her face. "When Yumemi was gone, I...I had to go...I couldn't lose another family member...I couldn't...just stand by while everyone ignored me and won't help my family."
"I understand how you feel, young Midoriya. And I must say that regardless of that, you made a valiant attempt and done great work in dwindling their numbers by exploiting their weaknesses despite your quirklessness. Although your pure intentions and heroic drive, it is good to think to rely on the police and heroes. Sometimes it is good to wait and not act quickly. Understand?"
"Yeah." Izuku nodded with a small smile. "Thanks."
"Young man, you have a long life ahead of you. You can't be throwing it away so quickly. Last night, you showed me that you are smart, athletic, you took your weaknesses into account…your eyes… were clouded before but now, they have some shine in them. I understand how you feel about your family but sometimes, having the drive is not enough to win or save someone's life."
Izuku nodded before he looked at the wall with a conflicted expression. "How...how can I repay you for this?"
"By living. Live and show this world that they are wrong about you. You have a bright future. Go seize it!"Upon hearing the Number One Hero's words, Izuku felt like a burden came off his shoulders, leaning back in his seat.
Feeling a wave of relief, Izuku closed his eyes, feeling something that he had never felt in a while. He felt happy.
"Thank you, All Might. Thank you...so...much..." The green-haired teenager muttered sleepily.
"All in a day's work, Young Midoriya." Those were the last words Izuku heard before he started to get comfortable and fall asleep.
At the end of the day when the operation was completed, there was a beep from the room that woke Izuku and Yumemi up, the toddler stretching herself while her brother looked up to see that the surgery was finished.
"Oh, it's finished. It's finished...All Mi-" The teen turned to All Might but he did not see anyone there before he searched the place. After a while, Izuku then noticed a letter in his pocket. "What the?"
"Mr. Midoriya." The doctor called with a smile as he gestured for him to go inside the room. "Come inside."
Izuku then went inside the room, he then saw his mother sitting up in her bed, trying to move as much as possible before she noticed him. "M-mom…"
"My children..." Inko said with tears streaming down her face.
Izuku's legs moved on their own as he approached the woman before he touched the woman. 'This isn't a dream.'
He fell to his knees, Inko wrapping her arms around him and her daughter in a warm embrace. Yumemi clutched onto the woman with tears spilling out of her eyes. "Mama...Mama..."
"Yes, Yu. I missed you too. Both of you." Inko cried with a smile on her face.
Izuku did not notice the tears coming from his eyes until they hit the floor, unable to wipe them from his face as he cried loudly. "Mom!"
'Thank goodness...thank goodness...I thought I would never see them again.' The teen thought as they all hugged each other. He then remembered something when he turned to his father, seeing the man still in slumber. "Is Dad still sleeping?"
"Yeah. But he is stabilized. He is in no life-threatening situation." The doctor entered the room with a smile on his face, much to Izuku's elation as the teen bowed to him. "Thank you, sir. Thank you...so much..."
The doctor waved off at the teen. "I'm happy for you. Don't lose hope, your family is strong. Much stronger than you think."
Izuku nodded with a smile before he realized something. "Oh, I didn't get your name, sir."
"Nagato. Nagato Mirai." The doctor said before he exited the room. Izuku looked at his father, approaching him to see a serene look on the man's face.
"I hope he recovers soon," Inko said as she looked at Hisashi with a melancholic expression. Inko then looked at Izuku who had a smile on his face as he put the sheet over his father's body. "Are you ok, Izuku?"
"Yeah..." Izuku said before he sat down. "...I'm fine. It's a long story. You ready to listen?"
Inko was surprised by this, seeing light and hope in her son's eyes which made her happy before he turned to her with a smile. Izuku felt a burning drive before he picked up one of his burnt notebooks in his bag and wrote his new goal in the book before he explained what happened to his mother.
His goal now is to be a hero.
"You're always helping people. That's so like you." Naomasa said to All Might who looked at the sunset with his signature smile. "I want to be able to save people. Plus, you saw that kid…he was on the edge…his eyes were dark when I first met him. Very dark..."
"Hmm." Naomasa hummed.
All Might looked up to the horizon, checking on his phone to which Tsukauchi was beside them before they went into the car. "I'm guessing the Ogre gang was the last group that you have to deal with here in Kyushu. It's weird though, from the missing persons that we found, I did not see Hajime Tsubasa. I say we do another round before we leave Kyushu. It has been months since we have gotten this report."
"Yes. There is not much time that I have here anyway. I had to keep a low profile for them to slip up and get caught." All Might said before he started laughing before they both drove to the horizon, the man getting a notification on his phone. "I need to return to Honshu soon."
"Well, we're going to need to keep our eyes peeled. Kyushu's research team is checking on the residue from that needle that the leader of the Ogre clan used against you." Naomasa said with a serious expression. All Might looked up to the sky which did not go unnoticed by the detective. "Do you think...it might be him?"
"I hope it's not. I truly hope it's not." All Might said, tightening his fists.
It was snowing on the island of Kyushu.
White crystals fell on the beach of Takoba, everyone enjoying the season as they went through their daily lives and prepared for the holidays to come. On the beach was Izuku who was dressed in a green and black winter coat with red snow boots, the teen who was gazing at the water with his hands in his pockets. He looked at the suitcases beside him before he heard a loud voice.
"Uku!" He turned to his sister who was waving at him with Inko who gently smiled at him.
It was a few months since his mother was discharged, it was a miracle that she was alive. The teen felt a bit dispirited when he saw the woman walk with a slight limp and a few scars around her left shoulder but he was happy as he ran to them with the suitcases.
"You ready to go?" Inko said, Izuku nodded before he turned to the hospital with a raised brow. "Are you sure about moving from here, Mom? We're going to be a bit farther from Dad."
"It's ok. I can't afford to lose my job at this moment. Plus, I should be happy it's Fukuoka and not Haku City and I need to get back to work since we're going to be starting from square one." Inko said with a sad smile before she held her children's hands, tears coming down his face. "It's going to be us for a while. I'm sorry that you have to experience it."
Izuku gripped the woman's hand and smiled a big smile. "Don't worry, Mom. Dad would hate seeing you like this. I'll support you as much as I can, ok?"
"Ya! Mama!"
Hearing that and seeing her children's smiles, Inko started to shake before she cried as she embraced them. "Thank you...I promise that I won't let you both suffer."
'That should be my line, Mom.' Izuku thought as he patted his mother on her back. After several minutes of the Midoriya-style crying, the Midoriya trio got themselves ready as they took a taxi and went to their destination which is the Fukuoka prefecture. After a few hours of traveling, they arrived at their destination, the trio reaching their new abode which is a huge apartment building.
"This is our new place. It's going to be a bit cramped." Inko said as she opened the door to their new place, Yumemi dashing inside as Izuku grabbed the suitcases and dragged them inside. After a few days of getting situated in their new home, Izuku was outside on the balcony with a piece of paper in his hands before he smiled as he had a new goal now.
"Maybe I should try for the hero course at UA College in Honshu?"
