Initially, she had feared that his parents would be the biggest obstacle between them. Now, however, it seemed things weren't as she had imagined. Indeed, for her, there was no news more wonderful than this.
She tightened her arms, clinging to the man in her embrace, and lifted her face.
"Okay, I promise you!"
He lifted his face, narrowed his eyes as he gazed into hers, and confirmed once more, "Never to leave?"
Having known him for so long, this was the first time Vera Wave had seen such an uncertain look in his eyes.
So, she wasn't the only one afraid of losing the other. He was too!
Having experienced this feeling herself, Vera Wave understood his emotions. To love someone so deeply was to fear losing them; even the mere thought could bring unbearable heartache.
Gazing into his eyes, she spoke in a low, firm voice, "Never to leave!"
