Chapter One
Her eyes were rimmed red, and she found it hard to describe her joy with any words.
In that moment, it felt like going back to the past. Although Arthur Baker would occasionally reprimand her, always questioning her in a elder's tone, managing her, it was still better than him being indifferent to her.
Aurelia Wood was so happy she didn't know what to say. She paused for a long time before speaking, "You... When did you get out?"
Arthur Baker frowned, "Not long ago."
"I looked for you, but you weren't living at your previous place anymore. Why did you move to a place like this?"
He asked, and his eyes seemed to still reveal some concern for her.
Aurelia felt excited and on the verge of tears, she tried hard to suppress her emotions before saying, "That's because... because I didn't like living in such a big house all alone."
She smiled as she spoke, not telling him she sold that house to save money for him.
What she could do for him seemed to be only this.
