Chapter 8
"They fled?"
Sofia Hamilton was stunned, unable to process the situation for a moment. "If he wasn't guilty, why would he run?"
This matter was becoming more and more bizarre.
The secretary lowered her head. "It's not just him. Even Manager Chen is missing."
As Sofia listened, she felt a chill run down her spine.
If they fled, there must be something wrong.
Could it really be true?
That would mean it's a problem with the company.
"Find a way to locate them, and…" Sofia paused for several minutes, so flustered that she didn't even know what to do next.
She admitted that Arthur Baker's approach was for the benefit of the company.
But she couldn't bring herself to follow it.
Using money to cover up the truth and clean up the mess for those who had done wrong would only embolden them, adding fuel to the fire.
She would rather step forward to admit the mistake and clean the slate.
But the risks of doing so were enormous.
