The more he sought peace of mind, the more she made it impossible for him!
Sofia Hamilton took a deep breath, suppressing the sourness in her heart, and barely managed to keep the tears at bay. "Ryan Gregory," she said, "regardless of whom I want to be with or how my life turns out in the future, it has nothing to do with you. There's no need for you to feign concern for my life as if you're more worried than my own mother."
Since when had her life matters become his concern?
Having chosen to leave, it would have been proper to make a clean break...
"Sofia! I..."
"Don't say it!"
She curved a smile, cutting him off, "I told you, it's none of your business. If you're trying to find some peace of mind with me, then there's even less need to bother because I'm very well. At least much better than when I was with you."
With that, she strode away, leaving hurriedly.
