The Old Horn did not want to accept the mission to capture Adam Vinter when he heard that some unknown hunter was protecting him.
The reason was that he had already faced Goen once before, when Goen had not concealed his identity. On that day, the Old Horn had not only suffered a crushing defeat but had also lost one of his horns.
Now, the Old Horn did not run away. He remained on the battlefield even after Goen had destroyed every member of the fifth team, bloodily and brutally.
Why?
The answer was simple: he couldn't pass up such an opportunity to take revenge for his humiliation.
"You decided to stay?" Goen asked in a calm tone. "Aren't you afraid that the same thing will happen to you as happened to the others?"
The Old Horn scratched the back of his head.
"Nah. Their boss asked me not to be too active. She wanted Liliane and her team to do most of the work, and I was there to make sure they achieved their goal."
His gaze fell on the bloody stains on the ground.
