All my work has similar style of journal from MC's prospective rather than dialogues. If you think of any fun dialogues for the situation, please put them in paragraph comments

We encounter a big problem on our way back home.
When we were on one of the last outpost, before konoha, we got the news that a couple of ninjas of konoha had betrayed the village and had stolen some precious artifacts.
They had already passed the village's border. Me and Hana joined the ninja from the outpost to block routes and spread out to track them.
We don't really have anything of their for hana's dogs to track them by smell, so we had to get a little creative. We returned back to the road in our lone merchant cart disguises. 2 of hana's dogs pull the cart at slow speed, looking like horses, while one of them took up patrolling in the area around us.
I used Mind-body transfer jutsu and entered a hawk's body. My orginal body slumped unconscious inside the cart, but hana caught me. There is a limit to how far i can be from my orginal body, otherwise i would have preferred to stay at the outpost while surveying the area as a hawk.
I Finally found 4 ninja , 2 of which matched the discription of the report. I returned to my body and informed hana of our situation. The Ninja were running towards us at high chunin speeds and any discreat message for back up wouldn't reach on time, but we still have to try.
I quickly wrote a message while hana turned around the cart to make it look like we are traveling away from the village, not towards it. I jump back into the body of a bird and Hana put the message in my talon as she holds me .
I get out of the bird and cast a Genjutsu on it to force it towards the location of outpost's office. I don't expect them to come on time. Any shinobi nearby will already be altered when the fight starts, the message will make sure that even more will be on their way.
Since the fugitives were avoiding the road , We decided to set up an ambush for them in the forest. Once they entered the ambush area, I instantly used my prepared Mind-body transfer jutsu on the former konoha chunin Aoi Rokushō.
Preferably, the jutsu is used on still target, but the situation called for improvising. I had already performed all the hand signs before the ambush and was holding on to the last sign, until i had to release it. This allows me some leeway.
As Aoi, I caught one of the other Ninja's off guard and killed him with a kunai. The other Ninja reacted immediately and started attacing me (as Aoi) asking me what is the meaning of my action. I just smile a cruel smile a say nothing. That's when Hana released a flare , alerting nearby shinobi.
During the minor distraction from the flare, I returned back to my body. While Aoi and his collaborator were fighting and bickering about betrayal and mind control, Hana came out from behind a tree and started speaking from our prepared script.
She congratulated Aoi on job well done and that he might even get a promotion, depending on what information we can get from his collaborator's interrogation. This caused the collaborator to be more offensive, while Aoi was on defensive, still trying to explain the misunderstanding.
Under all the confusion, i kidnapped their hostage/unwilling collaborator - Idate Morino. I ask him some important questions and then send him to follow Cat( My Pangolin) towards the outpost. I telepathically tell Hana that the other Ninja are from Amegakure a bit about what they stole. I've finally reached a stage with her that I can telepathically communicate without eye contact, but only with her, her dogs and my Pangolin.
Meanwhile, Hana started throwing paralytic laced kunai at Aoi's collaborator who was a ninja of Amegakure (Rain Village). The rain ninja were anbu level or above , such that Aoi was really struggling, even with hana's long ranged support.
Hana continued sowing discord, Asking Aoi why is he still pretending to be a fugitive and that information from rain is very inconsistent right now, his contribution will not be looked at lightly. She even violated the rain ninja, telling him how he didn't have a discerning eye, having fallen for a fake Raijin sword.
Aoi was so furious that it seemed that one of his veins would pop off. Seeing no way to clear the misunderstanding, he started being more offensive against the rain shinobi.
Aoi threw an umbrella in the air that started raining poisonous Senbons (needle) in a big area. Being medics, we don't fear poison as much as other people, but we still avoid as many as we can.
As the Rain shinobi is slowed down due to Hana's paralytic and Aoi's poison, I took my position, with clear view of Aoi and threw a javline. With refined instincts, Aoi tries to dodge the javline, but while the javline is still in the air, Senbons started comming out of it's wooden shaft and combine to take the form of a dragon, acting like a homing missiles, following the Dodgy Aoi.
When my view clears of the Senbons, I see a barely alive body with a javline running through it's guts. The body was also littered with needles sticking out of it, looking like a porcupine.
Meanwhile, hana had tied up our captive rain ninja and was already treating his poison. I also started tieing up Aoi and give him medical attention when our back-up finally showed up. This whole thing could have gone sideways if i couldn't kill the other rain ninja as Aoi at the start of the ambush.
I sealed back my javline that I named piercing dragon. It is based on the Fuinjutsu: Sharp dragon, but instead of seeing the jutsu in a big and long scroll, I downsized the jutsu to be scribed on the wooden shaft of the javline. Due to using Senbons instead of kunai, I'm able to shrink the size of seals to the requirement.
While the orignal jutsu was B-rank Fuinjutsu, my version uses smaller and fewer weapons, so it is at most a C-rank. I've made quite a few of them, but only few have actual metal Senbons, most have wooden stakes( thin like needles). The wooden ones can barely reach D-rank but it could provide a great enough distraction for retreat.
The main effect though is not the Senbon-Dragon. It is the javline itself. Unlike the Fuinjutsu: sharp dragon , which spreads decent damage to a lot of enemies with kunai, my version can better focus on a single enemy and with javline as part of the dragon, causing massive, life threatening damage.
We gather up the fugitives and go to the outpost. I get the needed approval from the head ninja of the outpost and start my interrogation. Through the enemy's mindscape, I find out a lot of information about some Ame's spies in Konoha and about some Ame Ninjas waiting for rendezvous.
By the time I'm done, Ibiki Morino arrived at the outpost and took over any further interrogation, the sadistic kind. I relay all the information i gathered to him.
When we reach the village, We are asked to report to the Hokage. The Hokage praised our contributions. When we finished the report, Hokage asked me to show him my.... Javline.
I give him one of them and say that this is just a prototype, with a bit more experimentation I should be able to create a similar one with level of A-rank jutsu. He appreciates the design and asks me if I'm planning to sell these weapons.
I tell him that I will show them to my Fuinjutsu sensei Lee-chun and then decide. She had the skill for the seal and her husband has the skill to make the javline and the weapons ( kunai or Senbons) that will be sealed in it's shaft.
The Hokage is thoughtful as he gives me back my javline. Me and Hana are generously compensated for our actions against fugitives and he even tells us that he has heard our praises from outpost all over the fire country, for our month long counter espionage/peace-keeping mission.
After leaving the Hokage's tower we go to our homes to greet our families. Throught throughout the next few of days, i meet up with my friends, family and my senseis.
Guy sensei is in the village, so i join him in his morning training for the week. Kurenai Sensei was out of the village for a mission so I couldn't meet her. I met my friends too and found out that all three of them have started their volenteer work at the hospital.
They go there after school, so i told them that I will come help them when i can to kick start their medical journey.
When i went to Lee-chun Sensei's home to greet her and show her my javlins. I meet another friend there, her daughter, tenten. Although we were only in the same class for one year, we became quick friends over idolising Tsunade.
I demonstrate the javline on one of their dummies in their backyard and they were very impressed with it. We then discussed production and my royalties with her husband. It is just as powerful as tagging a few kunai with explosive tags, but it's easier to use and has that homing missile effect built into it because you can control it a bit after throwing it.
After that, I catch up to tenten and she revealed that she tried for a volenteer position at the hospital as well ,but didn't get in due to lacking chakra control needed. I told her that I can help her with that so that she can try again next year.
I still insist on her that her mother is a Fuinjutsu expert and her father is great with Bukijutsu(weapons), so she should take advantage of that and learn those skills to compliment her arsenal.
Rest of the week is fixed into a schedule. I start my morning with Guy Sensei. I Spend the afternoon with Lee-chun Sensei on a project related to javlins. In the evening i send my time at the hospital with the girls.
As the week come to it's end, I and Lee-chun Sensei invite the Hokage to a training site for a demonstration. The Hokage came with a couple of his bodyguards and another anbu from Arsenal-division to the training ground. We have set up a few dummies for demonstration.
We ask the Hokage for his guidance in which variant would be appropriate to directly sell and what should only be sold through the Anbu arsenal, which is restricted to only higher level/clearance shinobi.
I demonstrate again what i had originally shown, Calculating it's damage to be equivalent of a C-rank assassination jutsu. I had named it Piercing Dragon jutsu
Then Lee-chun Sensei showcases one where a javline, when thrown releases 4 other javlins from it's shaft, which then release hundreds of Senbons from their shafts, with everything combining to for a bigger dragon shape. This one stand between B and A rank jutsu. We had named it Dragon-Fleet jutsu.
I then showcase one where a javline comes out of the butt of the shaft of the orignal javline, such that the orignal hides the new javline behind it, making it harder to counter. We named it shadowed dragon jutsu because of the hidden javline. The power of this jutsu is not that impressive standing near a B rank jutsu.
One of the great benefits of all these versions is that they are reusable as long as the user seals back the Senbons in the javline after their use. But I have a Trump card left to show.
I tell the Hokage that the next variant is a consumable, such that it is destroyed upon it's use and can't be used again. I then throw one javline that looks like my C rank piercing dragon, but instead of Senbons, this has a fewer kunai coming out of it.
What is special about that is that these kunai are made from Slag ( brittle by-product of smelting metal) and have explosive tags attached to it. As soon as they all hit the tree trunk i was aiming at, they explode with a bang and basically vaporise the tree.
I tell him that I haven't named this one because it is something that can be used to augment the damage of all three variants. I had to use kunai because of the explosive tags effect on aerodynamics of the smaller Senbons, but with enough research I'm confident in putting explosive properties in the Senbons.
He is very impressed by the weapons, as this allows even gennin to be able to throw a few C and B rank jutsu without hemorrhaging their chakra supply. The weapons are expensive though, so they bring a pay-to-win component to any fight.
He told us that the Anbu arsenal will have to run a few field test before he can licence the sale of theses weapons and we just nodded.
Most of the time, Someone from leadership of Anbu arsenal would have been the one seeing our test. But because the Hokage has already shown interest in my weapons in the past, I invited him anyway. So knowing that he didn't consider this a waste of his time is great.
Soon the week passed, I greet everyone goodbye as I get ready to leave with Hana. During this week i had helped the Ino, Sakura, Hinata and Tenten develope their chakra control. Guy sensei had helped me increase my physical strength and improve my strong kick style. Lee-chun Sensei and her husband had helped my full all my wooden stake piecing dragons with actual metal and slag Senbons.
For the next three months I went on espionage and hunting missions with Hana. We often bring back the lone merchant-cart ploy and even had to use similar ambushed to one we used against Aoi and rain Ninja if we encountered higher level ninjas.
I had gotten pretty good at scouting as a bird, so we were able to avoid anything that was too difficult for us to handle, but sometimes when you run away from something, you run into something else. We took it as it came, and came out in top in most situations.
Sometimes we had to retreat but with enough foresight, we had many plans to cover our retreat. Hana and her dogs are part of Inuzuka Chan, who are known for their physique and I am Guy Sensei's student, so we were all much faster than our rank would imply.
There was even one time when i had to open the first gate: gate of opening, to distract our opponent while hana and her dogs retreated. Thankfully, with the gate open, I was also fast enough to retreat later as well.
A few piercing/ fleet/ shadowed/ explosive dragons were used wherever nessasary. We were in foreign territory so refilling them was difficult, hence i always tried to be conservative in their use.
During these 3 months period, I had also developed in various other ways. I still kept up some exercising, but couldn't overdo it because we were in enemy territory. I had developed a few new Fuinjutsu by mixing and matching components from existing Fuinjutsu. But the most interesting development was when i had awakened chakra in Cat, my Pangolin.
During our rests, I would put him in a Genjutsu and enter it's mindscape through mind body transfer technique. I would then pratice chakra rotation and some chakra control exersise while using the Genjutsu to better share the experience as I do this in it's body.
Eventually it was able to control it's chakra to some extent, enough to activate the henge tag in its collar on it's own. It can't use it for too long due to his little chakra it has, but I'm glad that it can atleast do it without my input now, increasing its utility.
I was even close to teaching it the henge technique itself. Although it cannot perform hand signs, I have mastered it to a point where I can cast it without them. So I've been trying to spend our time in Cat's mindscape trying to pass on that mastery, so that it didn't need the Fuinjutsu in its collar to do it.
As for the Fuinjutsu I developed using components other Fuinjutsu, they were still prototypes, but had great potential. The Fuinjutsu: Sharp dragon uses components of - Vector to give direction and acceleration to the kunai, - Position relative to reach other to shape itself in form of dragon and even to give minor Control over it's direction after being thrown, giving it homing effect. One can use chakra strings to enhance this component of control.
The Fuinjutsu I created using vectors was a resistance seal, which restricted the movement of the target, by using these vector components to counter any movement they make.
I applied the component of Position to create a jutsu similar to Sharp dragon, but instead of forming in shape of a dragon, the Senbons take form of my resistance seal when thrown. Such that the needles that get stuck on the enemy form that seal.
When used with normal Senbons, it had basically no new effect, but if used with chakra-metal Senbons, it will cast the resistance seal on the target.
I didnt have chakra metal Senbons with me and they are nearly impossible to buy in enemy territory, so I had to get innovative and coat those Senbons in Fuinjutsu Ink like Many othesr coat their Senbons with poison.
The effect was not as good as chakra metal would have, but it still worked. I would have to also reapply the ink coating again after i used it, which would not be required for chakra metal. But thankfully, as a Fuinjutsu journeyman, i knew many recipes of such ink, materials for which can be found in wild.
Another seal i developed was the Fuinjutsu: telekinetic medium. It uses some concepts from Yamanaka Fuinjutsu and concept of Vectors from Fuinjutsu: sharp dragon.
The result was that I can use my telepathy to move anything tagged with this seal. The degree of movement depends on the Weight of the Target, Amount of Chakra used and my Skill with the Telepathy technique.
During the last month of our mission, I was able to inscribe this seal on a bunch of wooden scales , modelled after Cat's(my pangolin's) scales. I used Chakra scaple and another medical Technique called chakra injection to inscribe the seal inside the wooden scales.
The chakra injection technique is similar to chakra scaple in that it can bypass the living tissue, without damaging it, but while chakra scaple can selectively cut inside the body, chakra injection is used to deliver liquid or powder medicin directly into the needed areas.
Some medicine react to chakra ,so they cannot be used with it, but a vast veriety can be used with the chakra injection. This technique is also the basis for poison extraction technique, where instead of putting in the medicin, one can remove the poison from a person's body. But that technique Also has components of poison detection and isolation, otherwise one would extract the blood of the target instead of poison.
I used chakra scaple to scatch the telekinetic seal inside the wooden scales, bypassing it's outer layer, and then filled it with link using chakra injection technique.
Although these scales can not be used to mount any decent attack due to soft properties of wood, they can be used as defensive shield, similar to how Gara uses his sand. I've can even use them to fly for a short while by riding them, similar to how Goku used his Nimbus cloud, or Gara his sand.
After a fight where one of Hana's dogs was severely injured, I was even able to use it as a floating stretcher to carry the Dog to a safe area.
On our way back to the village after completion of the three month mission, we encountered a big fight between some fire nation Samurai and some ninja's without headband near the three way border between fire country, land of rice and land of cones.
The Samurai were struggling so we decided to help them out. With our sudden, unexpected attack, the missing nin were dealt with speed and precision. We were even able to get some prisoners alive for interrogation.
Turns out these were mercenary ninjas, hired by the Hidden sound village to gather information in fire nation and to Disrupt and harm konoha shinobi whenever they get the opportunity. They were being looked into after they disrupted several konoha missions.
While they were living in a city in disguise, a samurai found their movement suspicious and reported to his superiors. That led to a long Chase that brought them here, leading the samurai to be ambushed by allies of enemy shinobi stationed here.
The head samurai invited us to rest in his mansion in the village where the mercenaries were first spotted and we accepted graciously, minding our manners and language in front of the noble. We were already planning on resting in a village after entering fire country, after having spent three months living in wild or in disguise.
