Upon hearing what Yuki got for his Gift or Cursed Technique, or whatever it was supposed to be, he immediately appeared confused.
When he first got his Gift back then, the Aura, he was also confused, because he didn't understand what it was or where it was from exactly.
Now he is confused as well, but not because he doesn't understand what his gift is; in fact, he understands what it is pretty well.
It's just that...
"Super soldier body?"
This time, it was too simple. Far too simple to his liking.
"Hey, correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know much about JJK, but I know for sure that it's a world almost identical to the world I've just been in, right? Where Superhumans and Monsters exist." It was a question, but Yuki didn't wait for an answer as he just kept going in.
"So, what was that again with Lady Luck being on my side?"
Normally, whenever Yuki was being this sarcastic, Dude would retort back, somehow. But unexpectedly, he didn't do that. He instead pondered something first, which lasted for a couple of seconds before giving his reply.
"If we're going to simply look at your gift as it is, then yeah, it sucks. In that world, being a super soldier wouldn't do much. Even a Canon fodder there is already at a Super Soldier Level. But I don't think this is simply the case."
"Hmm? Can you explain more?"
Explaining more doesn't usually happen around Dude. He hates doing that. Even back then, when asked what Aura is, Dude did not say anything.
But this time, he seemed more compliant given the level of complexity of the current situation.
"I'm just a mere manager. I'm not a god, nor an all-knowing being. But Lady Luck is such. Hence, I wouldn't be able to grasp her full intent, so take my next words with a grain of salt." Dude paused for a second before continuing.
"Actually, you, in your past life, achieved quite a bit of a feat."
"Feat?"
"Yes. The power level you managed to reach by the end of your past life is near transcendental, you know? Which only makes sense given that you're dealing with a nigh-Transcendent being."
"And that matters right now because...?"
"Because that kind of power isn't easy to erase. Once you reach that level, it etches into your very soul, becoming a part of your identity. You're not feeling it right now, but I can see it in my eyes, your past prowess, it still lingers."
"My Aura? It's still here? How is that possible? Any possession I had during my past life is stripped away from me the moment I come back here. Isn't that what the rule said?" Yuki said in an incredulous expression, finding it hard to believe what Dude said just now.
"It's fine. It's a rare event, but not unheard of. Sometimes, something like this pops out every now and then. We simply let it be because it's a pain in the ass to deal with, not worth the effort."
"Huh? You just let it be?"
"Yeah. Dealing with souls, even for me, is a delicate matter. I can remove the traces of your Aura right now, but a risk is involved. A risk that none of us Managers like to face. So we just simply let it be."
After that, Dude waved his hand around, a sign that he already wanted to drop the current subject and move on to the more important ones. Probably because this whole explanation is already taking up too much of their time.
"In any case, to make the big matter short, don't worry much about your current gift because you still have the remnants of your past gift. In fact, you should even thank Lady Luck for not giving you another powerful gift, or else, you'll be in for another train wreck for your next world."
After hearing what Dude just said, Yuki's confused expression resurfaced again. Rightfully so because he cannot understand how having a powerful gift, in pair with his lingering past gift, is a bad omen.
Hence, he urged him to clarify things even further.
"Well, it's a drag to explain. But to put it in simple terms, the world of JJK, is a world of Nuclear Deterrence. That's all I had to say."
Dude gave a super short explanation, it barely gave anything.
But Yuki, just from that, already understood what kind of world the World of Curses is. He doesn't know the specifics, but to him, that information alone is enough.
That's why he asked no more questions. His curiosity is already satisfied. Well, he isn't too satisfied about his current gift, but... It's not like he can do anything about it.
"I can see that something is still bothering you. Oh well, since I like you and you pretty much went into sh*t on your past life and i pity you for that, i'll give you one favor this time. Here..." After saying that, Dude flicked, and suddenly, a flash of bright light appeared, and before Yuki could even react, that same light was quickly absorbed inside Yuki's body.
"What was that? What did you just do?" Yuki wasn't startled by it. He's already pretty used to that kind of sudden stuff anyway. But he's definitely curious as to what just transpired.
"That's my favor. I gave you a Helper, to be exact."
Hearing the term for the first time, Yuki was once again confused. He was about to ask what a Helper is. But before he could do so, Dude interrupted him and simply said...
"Don't worry about it. I'll make sure you won't be disappointed."
"..."
Ignoring the protesting Yuki, Dude stated out loud that all they needed to do was finally done, and all that's left is one thing.
"NOW! Let's proceed to the reincarnation process, shall we?" Dude said with an enthusiastic expression, probing the other party to answer.
Yuki, on the other hand, sighed heavily and said nothing more. He already gave up. At this point, he's simply leaving everything to fate again, as he gave Dude a nod as a reply.
"Amazing! Now, let's do this." After this, Dude flashes Yuki a smile one last time before clapping both his hands.
ZWOOOM!
Immediately after that clap was made, Yuki was suddenly surrounded by orbs of light. The rays of light that were coming from those orbs were so strong that his vision brightened up to the point where he could see no more.
Though as uncomfortable as this might sound, he felt no sort of discomfort, nor any pain while this was ongoing.
He had already experienced this before, so he wasn't startled or nervous either. He already knows why this is happening and what's about to happen next.
After these orbs do their thing, he will be reincarnated again in a new world. There, he would lose his memories as a Traveller and live a new life.
*ZWIIIII-!*
Now, the lights surrounding Yuki started to intensify even more. At the same time, a warm sensation started hitting his entire body, a clear sign that the reincarnation process was about to be executed.
Amidst this happening, Dude's clear voice suddenly entered his ear.
"I wish you good luck, Traveller. Have fun down there."
Upon hearing this, Yuki was about to respond. Probably to say his goodbyes and a little bit of smack talk, but before he could even mutter a word, the lights that were surrounding him suddenly exploded.
After that, nothing.
He didn't know when it happened, but his consciousness faded away. And the next moment he became aware again.
He was already transported to a different place.
