Chapter 27 - Chapter 27 - White jeans

Ying Di returned home in a very sour mood, his entire body covered in sand and fucking leaves. He had tried his best to brush them off on the way home, but some of them seemed determined to cling to him, leaving ugly brown stains all over his once-pristine white branded crew-neck shirt. His teeth were clenched so tightly that his jaw ached as he stormed into the kitchen, desperate for nothing more than a cold drink.

Unfortunately, the one person he absolutely did not want to witness him in such a miserable state was already there, sitting comfortably by the table and leisurely sipping a cup of tea.

The moment Jua looked up and saw him, his brows rose.

"Wow…" He slowly looked Ying Di up and down. "You look like you took a dust bath."

Ying Di's face darkened, but he didn't bother responding to the annoying bastard. Right now, he couldn't care less about Jua. All he wanted was some water, a clean change of clothes, and a nice hot bath. He marched over to the counter, grabbed a cup, and filled it from the water dispenser.

He raised it to his lips, only to pause.

There were ants floating in the water.

Ying Di stared at them.

For a moment, he genuinely wondered if his eyes were playing tricks on him.

Then his temper exploded.

"Fuck this shit!"

He slammed the cup onto the floor so hard that water splashed everywhere.

"Isn't anyone doing their fucking job in here?! Why are there ants in the cups?! Why didn't you wash it properly?!" He spun toward the butler, who was sitting nearby by the fridge, and glared at him furiously. "Huh?! Are you getting paid to just loaf around and do nothing?!"

The older man immediately lowered his head, his expression apologetic.

"It was our oversight, Young Master. W-We will make sure to clean all the utensils again and have them properly sanitized."

"God! Can't I even get a fucking drink around here?"

Ying Di shoved past Jua without another glance and marched toward the refrigerator. If the cups weren't safe anymore, then he would simply drink straight from the carton. He pulled out a carton of milk, twisted off the cap, and began gulping it down without bothering to find a glass.

By the time he finished, there was milk smeared all over his mouth and dripping down his chin.

He wiped his face with the back of his hand and sighed in satisfaction.

"That was refreshing."

He tossed the carton back into the refrigerator and turned toward the butler. "Get my change of clothes ready. I'm going to take a nice hot bath."

With that, he sauntered out of the kitchen, apparently satisfied now that he had finally managed to get something into his stomach without another disaster occurring.

Jua remained where he was, calmly sipping his tea as he watched Ying Di disappear.

He lowered his cup slightly and stared toward the doorway.

It looked like the curse he had placed on Ying Di was working a little too well.

From the looks of things, the misfortune following Ying Di had become considerably more intense than Jua had originally expected. If this continued, it would definitely cause him some trouble sooner or later. Perhaps he should have been a little more careful with the curse.

Then again, Jua couldn't bring himself to care very much.

After all, that was simply Ying Di's karma.

If the heavens wanted to make his life miserable, who was Jua to interfere?

The man who had happily gone off to take a bath had no idea just how terrible his luck had become. After washing away the dirt and sand clinging to him, he changed into a fresh set of clothes: the white limited edition Prada jeans and a Prada T-shirt. He had been begging his mother to buy those two pieces for him for quite some time, and she had finally managed to get them while accompanying his father on a business trip the week before.

Putting on his new clothes immediately restored some of his confidence. Unfortunately, it wasn't the kind of confidence that inspired anything good. If anything, it gave him the courage to make someone else's life even more miserable.

A malicious grin slowly spread across his face as he thought about that little bitch.

Jua had laughed at him earlier. He was sure of it. Even if the bastard had tried to hide it behind that innocent expression, Ying Di knew exactly what he had been thinking. The thought alone made his blood boil.

By evening, Ying Mao had also returned from school. Ying Di didn't reveal his intentions too soon. Instead, he plastered a pleasant smile onto his face and behaved as though nothing had happened, chatting with the young boy as casually as he always did.

Strangely, however, Ying Mao seemed to be unusually wary of him.

The boy stayed closer to Jua than usual, occasionally glancing toward Ying Di as though expecting something from him.

Did Jua tell him something?

The thought immediately flashed through Ying Di's mind, making his expression darken for a moment.

But what use would it be? Even if Jua had warned him, Ying Mao was still nothing more than a child. His parents were away from home most of the time, and there was no one around who could truly protect him. As far as Ying Di was concerned, the boy was completely at his mercy.

Soon, the servants began setting up the dinner table.

Ying Di waited until no one was paying particular attention before quietly giving the maids a small instruction. He had them place a few cockroaches on Jua's food, making sure they were hidden well enough that Jua wouldn't notice them immediately.

Once everything was prepared, Ying Di took his seat at the table, barely managing to suppress the grin tugging at the corners of his mouth.

He could already imagine what would happen.

Jua would take a bite, realize what was on his plate, and finally lose that irritatingly calm expression. Perhaps he would even scream or cry.

The thought made Ying Di's grin widen as he waited patiently for his little performance to begin.

Oh, what a sight that would be.
