The vampire stared at her as he took one last gulp from the bottle before putting it down on the small table next to him. A drop of blood escaped the corner of his lips and he wiped it with his index finger. He then licked the blood from his fingertip. Half of his face was lit by the candlelight while the other side was a few shades darker.
"Come here."
Seeing the glint of wariness in Sienna's eyes, Lemiel's lips curled up a bit. He cocked his head and tapped the space on the bed beside him.
"Don't worry, I won't take a bite. Not tonight," he said.
She walked toward him. Her wounds still stung every time she moved but she had no problem covering the short distance.
Once she was seated, Lemiel took a small jar from the bedside table. It was a healing ointment he had taken from the council laboratory. It wouldn't heal a witch's wounds within hours but would do so in three days which was faster than the healing aids from the public infirmary.
"Show me your arms."
