Tsunade, who was about to leave to meet Hiruzen was stopped by Mito. With a confused look on her face, she looked at Mito and saw her shaking her head.
"I have already talked about this matter, and received the scroll of the mission."
"Ehhh! Then why didn't you tell before?" Tsunade asked with a shocked look on her face, and Mito sighed at the words.
"It's because I wanted to see how you would react. If you remained timid and tried to deny it because of past relations, then I would not give the scroll to you."
Mito said with a serious look on her face, and Tsunade froze at the words. She looked at Mito for a moment, and then at Kidou. They both said the same thing to her, and this made her wonder if something was wrong with her.
"Still, I wonder how he will react when he knows that the Daimyo family has been killed. Beside him, and the four Kages, not many know about the matter regarding Uzu."
"Especially Hiruzen, he doesn't know anyone who knows about the matter, and because of this, he will remain in the dark."
Kidou said with a thoughtful look on his face, and he saw Mito sneering at the words.
"How will react? Haha, you seem to underestimating him. For him, it's better if no one knows about this matter. With the daimyo dying, Hiruzen will bury the matter in his heart, and keep on maintaining the good relationship"
"What I am sure is that when he knows about this matter, he will surely come and talk to me about this matter. He will try to use Tsunade to keep the relationship close, and that is one of the reasons why he came to the wedding, besides being the 'Elder'."
"That's the reason I want you two to leave so that I will deny the matter and say that I am Mito, Nine Tails Jinchuuriki of Konoha, not Mito Uzumaki of Uzu."
Kidou looked at Mito as he heard the words and a chuckle escaped his lips. He understood what she wanted to say, and Mito wanted to use this opportunity to cut off the relationship between herself and Uzu so that Konoha wouldn't have any relationship with Uzu.
"Tsunade, in my opinion, he will send you a message to soothe the relationship between the villages. As for what you want to do, it's up to you." Mito said while rubbing her head, and she used the summoning technique to summon a scroll.
From the scroll, she took out two scrolls and a token that had the symbol of Uzushiogakure on it.
"Here, this scroll is the mission scroll. It's an S-class mission and be sure to take the money from Monkey. As for this scroll, it contains the contract between Uzu and Konoha. Do whatever you want with it."
"This token represents my identity in Uzu and it is on the same level as Uzukage. With this, you can make decisions in any matter regarding Uzu. At first, I planned on giving it to Kidou, but now that you have decided to take matters into your own hands, I will leave this token to you."
"This means that I am retiring from my responsibilities between the two villages, and everything else will depend on you."
Mito passed the two scrolls and the token to Tsunade, who held them in her hand with a serious look on her face.
Tsunade didn't say anything, and she bowed to Mito and accepted the three things silently.
Nodding at her, Mito looked at Kidou with a serious expression on her face.
"I have been contemplating this matter for quite some time and on the wedding day when I saw you rushing to Uzu, I had decided the matter."
Mito said with a look of reminiscence and she thought of the things that happened in past.
"I know that you have no interest in the matters, and that's why I will ask you if you want to accept it. If you want to, then it will be good, and if you don't want to, then it doesn't matter. After all, I still have quite some time, and I can wait until Tsunade assumes the position."
Kidou looked at Mito with a confused look on his face and he wondered what Mito wanted to give him.
Mito took out another scroll and a token in her hand. Looking at the token, Tsunade froze as it had been quite some time since she had seen the token.
"This scroll is the scroll that wrote Hashirama's words about disbanding the Senju clan and merging with the village. He didn't know that Tobirama had changed a few clauses in the scroll. As for what they are, you will know after reading them."
Mito then showed another token that had the symbol of the Senju clan on it.
"As for this token, it represents the Head of the Senju Clan. Kidou Senju, I wonder if you would like to assume the position of Head of the Senju clan?"
Mito asked the words, and the atmosphere in the room turned serious. Kidou looked at her with a shocked look on his face as he hadn't expected the words. In his mind, he had already deemed Nawaki as the next Head, and he originally planned on training him to become the next head so that he and Tsunade could have free time with each other.
But he didn't expect that Mito would ask him to become the next Head of Senju Clan.
Kidou looked at Tsunade, who was equally surprised by her words. He saw him turning to her, and Kidou looked at Tsunade who showed an excited expression.
"Grandma, you know that I don't want to appear in the limelight as it is troublesome."
"Hmm, I know."
"Then why did you think of this matter?" Kidou asked as he knew that Mito wouldn't do something without thinking.
"The Clan leaders can reject the mission from Hokage anytime, even if it is an emergency or S-class mission. I know that you are strong, but I also learned that strength isn't the only way to destroy someone. Knowing the four, or I should say Monkey and Danzo, if they got a chance, they would do something to destroy you in the mission."
"Even if you cleared the mission, they could destroy you with words. But it will be different if you are the Patriarch of the Senju Clan. If it was Uchihas, the the village wouldn't mind, but if those tried to smear Senju Clan's Patriarch or I should say Senju Clan's name, half of the village would be rebelled against them."
"For Konoha, Senju isn't just a clan, but it represents the beginning. I dare say that if Senju and Uchiha leave the village and build another one, that village would be known as Konoha, not this one."
Mito said with a proud look on her face, and hearing her words, Tsunade also grinned proudly.
Seeing them like this, Kidou didn't know what to say and he rubbed his head. Tsunade was about to say something, but Mito stopped her and shook her head.
She didn't want to force Kidou to accept this matter as she knew that even without the name if Kidou's bottom line was crossed by Monkey and Danzo, he would destroy them even if it led to war.
Besides, she now wanted to see the Senju clan flourish again, and she knew that Kidou's new and innovative ideas might be the only way to make the Senju clan like before.
"When Nawaki grows up, I will pass him my position, and till then, he will be my secretary with Nono," Kidou said after thinking for a moment, and Mito laughed at the words.
"Are you sure about this matter?" She asked while covering her mouth to laugh, Tsunade also showed a funny look on her face.
"Yeah! Besides, with Nawaki's behaviour, it would be difficult for him to find someone in future. But, if Nono denies, I won't stop her."
"That's good!" Mito said with a laugh, and seeing her laughing without care, Kidou looked strange. Noticing the weird atmosphere, Mito coughed and then she passed the scroll and the token to Kidou.
"Tsunade Senju greets the clan head," Tsunade said in a joking tone, and she received a smack on her head.
"Bow slightly, even if you are the Clan head's wife. When you are Hokage in future, then you won't have to bow." Mito said with an amused look on her face, and she ignored Tsunade's resentful glare.
