...
Jack agreed without hesitation. He turned to his chief of staff. "Start making the calls," Jack ordered. "Get the senators from our manufacturing districts on the line. I want to speak with the governors of the states where we just broke ground on the new distribution hubs. And get the White House switchboard. I need ten minutes with the President."
The room accelerated into a flurry of coordinated action.
Sandro stood up, pacing slowly near the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city, dictating the strategy to the communications team.
"Make sure everyone understands the approach," Sandro instructed clearly. "We are not making open threats. That will only validate their narrative. We are providing them with factual economic realities."
Sandro turned around, looking at the lead strategists.
"When you speak to these politicians, you remind them of what we actually do," Sandro emphasized. "You give them the legitimate arguments. Remind them of the hundreds of thousands of jobs we have created across their districts. Remind them of the billions of dollars we have poured into their local infrastructure. Point out the charitable contributions, the technological advances we provide to their schools, and the supply chain efficiency that keeps their local economies afloat."
He walked back to the table, his expression hardening.
"You make them understand that if they try to break Nexum Core apart, they aren't just hurting our bottom line," Sandro finished. "They are actively destroying the economic stability of the constituents who vote for them."
For the next forty eight hours, the Zhang family executed a masterclass in corporate diplomacy.
The pressure campaign against Nexum Core hit a sudden, impenetrable wall. The hostile senators pushing for the antitrust action quickly discovered that their political support was evaporating. Politicians who had privately expressed interest in the initiative began backing away, realizing that going to war with a company that provided so much national economic stability was political suicide.
By Thursday evening, the proposed antitrust action had been quietly shelved, blocked indefinitely before it could even reach the floor.
The war room slowly emptied out, the lawyers and advisors heading home after days of relentless work.
Sandro and Jack remained alone in the conference room. The immediate danger was over, but the atmosphere between father and son remained deeply serious.
"We stopped the bleed," Jack said quietly, pouring himself a glass of water. "The Senate won't touch us for the foreseeable future. The coalition backed down."
Sandro didn't look relieved. He stared out at the city lights, his jaw set.
"They backed down because we showed them our leverage," Sandro replied. "But this isn't the end of it, Dad. It is just the end of the immediate threat. They will regroup. They will look for another angle. If we just sit here and play defense, we are eventually going to lose."
Jack looked at his son, recognizing the cold, calculating glint in Sandro's eyes.
"So, what do you suggest?" Jack asked.
"Defending ourselves isn't enough anymore," Sandro stated firmly, turning to face his father. "We need to send a warning. A very loud, very public warning."
Jack raised an eyebrow, silently urging him to continue.
"We use the network," Sandro explained. "We possess an enormous media and technology empire. We have massive stakes and influence across the largest digital platforms on the planet. Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google... we have the infrastructure to shape the public conversation."
Sandro walked back to the table, pulling up a secure file on a digital tablet.
"Our intelligence division didn't just find out about the antitrust push," Sandro said, sliding the tablet across the table to Jack. "They found out exactly who was funding it. And more importantly, they found out what those people are hiding."
Jack looked down at the screen, his eyes scanning the documents. The files contained a treasure trove of highly damaging information regarding the politicians and corporate rivals who had attempted to move against them.
"We have evidence of undisclosed conflicts of interest," Sandro listed off smoothly. "Hidden financial relationships. Questionable offshore business dealings. Hypocritical investments in the exact foreign markets they publicly campaign against. If this gets out, the reputational and political damage will be severe."
"This is a nuclear option, Sandro," Jack warned softly. "If we just dump this online, it looks like a reckless revenge campaign. It could trigger a massive backlash."
"Which is exactly why we don't dump it," Sandro agreed. "We do it carefully. Deliberately. We coordinate the release through secondary channels, independent journalists, and social media algorithms that we already influence."
Sandro leaned over the table, looking his father dead in the eye.
"The goal is not to destroy everyone involved," Sandro clarified. "The point is to make sure that they, and anyone watching them, understand that attacking Nexum Core carries very real, very painful consequences."
Jack studied his son for a long moment. He saw the sharp and practical logic in the strategy. He nodded slowly.
"Do it," Jack authorized.
The counter offensive began on Friday morning.
It was a surgical strike of digital information. The material began appearing across the family's vast media and technology network in a carefully coordinated sequence. An independent investigative blog published a piece detailing the hidden financial ties of a prominent senator. Hours later, that article was heavily boosted by the algorithms on Twitter and Facebook, pushing it into the trending topics worldwide.
Short, easily digestible video clips breaking down the hypocritical business dealings of their corporate rivals began flooding YouTube and Instagram feeds.
The releases spread like wildfire. Major news accounts picked up the stories, broadcasting the allegations to millions. Regular users shared screenshots, highlighted documents, and demanded answers from their elected officials.
Sandro and Jack sat in the executive office, watching the news networks scramble to cover the unfolding scandal on a wall of flat screen televisions.
The public conversation shifted with breathtaking speed.
The exact same people who had been demanding a federal investigation into Nexum Core just days prior were suddenly swarmed by reporters, forced to answer questions about their own hidden finances and questionable ethics. The political opposition was instantly thrown onto the defensive, scrambling to save their own careers and completely abandoning their crusade against the Zhang family.
Jack took a sip of his coffee, a faint smile playing on his lips as a particularly hostile senator dodged questions from a press pool on live television.
"It worked," Jack noted quietly. "They are too busy putting out their own fires to even look in our direction."
"It bought us time," Sandro corrected gently, adjusting his medical sling. "And it sent the message."
"We just created a lot of new enemies today, Sandro," Jack pointed out, looking away from the screens.
"I know," Sandro replied, his voice calm and unbothered. "But this was just a warning shot. We are letting them know the cost of doing business against us."
Sandro looked back up at the television screens, watching the digital empire he helped build manipulate the narrative with terrifying efficiency.
"We don't want to rule the world, Dad," Sandro said softly, summarizing his ultimate philosophy. "We just intend to become too strong, too useful, and very deeply connected for anyone to casually remove us from the board."
Jack nodded, understanding perfectly. The corporate borders were secure. The enemies of Nexum Core had been successfully repelled and severely punished.
With his business empire safely protected, Sandro allowed his focus to slowly shift away from the political war rooms of Washington. He pulled out his phone, checking a text message from AJ Lee regarding their upcoming travel schedule. His mind quietly transitioned away from the boardroom and returned to the squared circle, fully preparing himself for the next steps of developments for the God King on the next episode of Monday Night RAW.
The warm, golden sunlight of a quiet Florida morning poured through the floor to ceiling windows of Sandro Zhang's luxury apartment in Tampa.
After a grueling week of corporate warfare in Orlando, the God King was finally off the clock. The heavy, intimidating aura he projected on television was completely gone, replaced by a rare, relaxed calm. He sat comfortably on the edge of a massive, plush sectional sofa, wearing loose grey sweatpants and a simple black tank top. His right shoulder was free from the medical sling, resting naturally at his side, though a faint grimace crossed his face whenever he rolled the recovering joint too quickly.
The penthouse was filled with a comfortable, domestic energy.
AJ Lee was curled up on the opposite end of the sofa, her knees pulled to her chest, deeply engrossed in a handheld video game console. She wore an oversized comic book t-shirt, occasionally muttering colorful curses under her breath whenever her character missed a jump.
Nikki Bella sat cross legged on a large, woven area rug in the center of the living room, surrounded by glossy fashion magazines and a tablet displaying potential ring gear designs. She was animatedly talking about fabric swatches and color coordination, her outgoing, glamorous personality shining through even on a lazy morning.
In the open concept kitchen, Alexa Bliss was leaning against the marble countertop, sipping a mug of freshly brewed coffee. She wore a pair of comfortable leggings and an oversized hoodie, offering a witty, sarcastic remark every time Nikki asked for her opinion on a particularly flashy outfit design.
Sandro watched the three of them interact, a genuine, quiet smile resting on his face. This was his sanctuary. Away from the cameras, the screaming crowds, the chaotic locker room politics, and the relentless pressure of Nexum Core, this was the only place he could truly breathe.
Then, his iPhone 2 buzzed on the glass coffee table.
Sandro leaned forward, picking up the device. He expected an update from his father regarding the fallout of their digital counter offensive, but the name flashing across the caller ID made his eyebrows rise in genuine surprise.
Stan Lee.
Sandro tapped the screen and held the phone to his ear. "Stan. Good morning. It's a pleasant surprise to hear from you."
"Sandro, my boy!" the legendary comic book creator's voice crackled through the speaker, radiating his signature, infectious warmth. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything important. I saw what you put your body through on Sunday night. How is that shoulder holding up?"
"It's getting there, Stan. Just a minor bump in the road," Sandro replied respectfully, shifting his position on the couch. He had built a strong rapport with the Marvel icon, but he always maintained a level of deep respect for a man who had shaped so much of modern pop culture. "What can I do for you?"
"Well, I was hoping to run an idea by you," Stan began, his tone shifting into a more focused, creative register. "A rather big idea. Tell me, are you familiar with the Shang-Chi comics?"
"Of course I am," Sandro answered without hesitation.
"Good, good," Stan chuckled. "Because Marvel is moving forward with a live action adaptation. And I want you to play Wenwu. Shang-Chi's father."
Sandro froze.
The casual, relaxed atmosphere in the room completely vanished from his mind. He sat up a little straighter, his brain working at a blistering pace as he processed the magnitude of the proposal.
He immediately recognized that this idea was a massive deviation from the Marvel timeline he remembered. In his previous life, before he died in 2021, the Shang-Chi adaptation had been announced and it was a much later in the studio's overarching cinematic plan.
More importantly, the character of Wenwu was a deeply complex, older figure, brought to life by a veteran and legendary actor when the MCU phase plan was announced. Sandro had already provided Marvel with a broad, highly successful structural plan based on his past life knowledge, and this casting choice was nowhere on that blueprint.
"Stan..." Sandro started carefully, keeping his voice steady. "I have to admit, I'm genuinely surprised. Why the sudden pivot? This wasn't part of the roadmap we discussed."
"I know it wasn't," Stan admitted, a smile evident in his voice. "This was a personal pitch. I went to the Marvel board of directors myself, Sandro. I have been watching your rise over the last year. I watch Monday Night RAW. I see what you do when you step out in front of millions of people."
Stan paused, letting the weight of his words settle.
"Your 'God King' persona is lightning in a bottle," Stan explained passionately. "You carry yourself with an undeniable, commanding authority. You have the physical presence, the intensity, and the charisma to command a room without saying a single word. That is exactly what Wenwu needs. But more than that, the public sees the other side of you. They see the heartthrob. They see the way you interact with those three lovely young women of yours. You have the unique ability to project a very dangerous exterior, while also showing genuine warmth and affection. That duality is the absolute core of this character."
Sandro was quietly stunned. The fact that Stan Lee had personally analyzed his performances and gone to bat for him in a boardroom was a massive honor. But Sandro's highly analytical mind immediately caught a glaring practical issue.
"Stan, I appreciate the confidence, I really do," Sandro said, his brow furrowing. "But let's look at the logistics. I am twenty years old. I have a young face. How am I supposed to realistically portray a warlord who has two adult or teenage children? The audience isn't going to buy me as a father figure in that capacity."
"Ah, but that is the beauty of comic books, my friend!" Stan laughed heartily, completely unbothered by the concern. "We control the narrative. We can alter his origins. After all Wenwu was an immortal and an exceptionally long lived conqueror who stopped aging physically in the prime of his youth."
Stan's creative energy was palpable through the phone.
"We use the Ten Rings as the anchor," Stan continued. "The rings grant him immense power, and they freeze his physical appearance. It gives the character an even more tragic, isolating dimension. You wouldn't be playing an old man, you would be playing an ancient soul trapped in a young, physical prime. We adapt the story around you, Sandro. We don't force you to age yourself up."
Sandro absorbed the explanation. It was a brilliant, highly effective workaround that fit perfectly within the established lore of the cinematic universe.
"I don't want you to just show up, put on a costume, and read lines," Stan emphasized, his tone growing deeply sincere. "If you do this, I want you involved in the development process. I plan on participating personally in shaping this script, and I want your input on how to interpret the character. But Sandro, listen to me closely. I don't want an answer based on pressure. If this doesn't feel right to you, you just say the word, and I will shelve the idea and we move on. No hard feelings. Are you genuinely interested?"
The line fell quiet.
Sandro leaned back against the cushions, staring out at the sparkling blue waters of Tampa Bay. He wasn't blinded by the glitz and glamour of becoming a movie star. He already possessed wealth and influence beyond measure. What truly affected him was the trust. A man of Stan Lee's legendary stature had looked at his work, evaluated his potential, and handed him the keys to a highly complex, foundational character.
Sandro thought practically. There was no downside to agreeing, provided the execution was handled correctly. It would expand his cultural footprint and open an entirely new avenue of influence.
A slow, confident smile touched Sandro's lips.
"Alright, Stan," Sandro finally answered, his voice firm and decisive. "You have a deal. I am absolutely willing to hear more about the project, and I would be honored to help you shape the role."
"Excelsior!" Stan cheered, clearly thrilled by the decision. "I will have the initial development files sent to your office by Monday. Take care of that shoulder, Sandro. We have a lot of work to do."
"I will. Thank you, Stan," Sandro said, before ending the call and lowering the phone.
He sat there for a moment, processing the fact that he was now officially stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
When he finally looked up, he realized the room had gone completely silent.
AJ had paused her video game, her dark eyes locked onto him. Nikki was staring at him over the top of her fashion magazine, her mouth slightly open. Alexa had stopped mid-l sip, lowering her coffee mug to the counter. All three women possessed razor sharp instincts, and they instantly recognized that a major shift had just occurred.
"Okay," AJ said, narrowing her eyes suspiciously. "What was that? You look like you just bought another country."
"Who was on the phone?" Nikki asked, pushing her design tablet aside and crawling closer to him on the rug.
Sandro let out a soft sigh, tossing the phone back onto the coffee table. "That was Stan Lee."
AJ's jaw dropped. As a massive comic book nerd, the name alone commanded absolute reverence. "Stan Lee? What did he want?"
"He wants me to star in an upcoming Marvel adaptation," Sandro explained calmly, a small smirk breaking through his composed exterior. "He wants me to play a villain. Shang-Chi's father. Wenwu."
For two seconds, absolute silence hung in the penthouse.
And then, the room erupted.
Nikki let out a piercing, excited shriek, jumping up from the rug and throwing her arms into the air. "Oh my god! You are going to be a movie star! A Marvel movie star!"
AJ scrambled across the sectional, practically vibrating with geeky excitement. "Are you kidding me?! The Mandarin?! Well, the real one?! That is huge! The Ten Rings, the lore... Sandro, that is one of the most complex antagonists in the universe!"
Alexa burst out laughing, walking out of the kitchen and shaking her head. "Oh, great. Just what we need. As if your ego wasn't big enough from being the 'God King' of wrestling, now we have to deal with 'Hollywood Sandro.' I can already see the sunglasses indoors and the demands for sparkling water."
