He kneeled, picked it up, and held it with both hands. And with that cold, serpentine glare, he stared into the camera. The message was unmistakable. The show faded to black with Randy Orton standing tall, the WWE Championship glinting under the spotlights, and the crowd raining down a mix of awe, rage, and fear.
But this was only the beginning.
The next few days passed slowly, the wrestling world in an uproar over what had happened. Social media exploded with outrage and disbelief. Fans debated whether this is leading to a three way feud, and that Big Show doesn't earned his win. Meanwhile, Cena vowed revenge in a short backstage promo posted online, saying, "Orton is the reason Big Show win. But I'll get my title back, you can bank on that. If I have to take on Orton and Big Show, then I will do so."
And then, finally, Saturday arrived.
The night of Over The Limit.
The Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was packed to capacity. Fans from across the state, and beyond, had flocked to witness the fallout of one of the most chaotic weeks in WWE history. The air was electric, banners waving, the crowd buzzing about every match on the card.
Would Cryme Tyme and Kelly Kelly hold onto their titles, standing united against the Undisputed System's takeover? Or would Sandro Zhang and his empire finally make good on their threat to leave Over The Limit draped in more gold?
As the camera panned across the packed stadium, the commentary team welcomed everyone to the show.
Cole shouted over the roar, "Welcome, everyone, to Over The Limit! We are LIVE in Minneapolis, and tonight, every championship could change hands! The Undisputed System has promised total domination—and after what we saw Monday night, they might just deliver!"
Lawler grinned ear to ear. "You can feel the energy, Cole! Titles are on the line, pride is on the line, and after everything that happened this past Monday, you know emotions are running high!"
The fans roared in approval as the lights dimmed and the opening pyro exploded across the stage. The show had begun.
The crowd was still buzzing from the opening pyro when suddenly—
"SHOCK THE SYSTEM!"
The entire Target Center plunged into darkness. For a split second, the crowd erupted in confusion, before golden spotlights began flashing across the arena. The boos started immediately, loud and venomous, echoing through the rafters as the stage filled with gold and black light.
The Undisputed System's logo flickered across the titantron, and then, out stepped Sandro Zhang, the WWE United States Championship draped over his shoulder, his trademark cold smirk plastered across his face.
Flanked by Wade Barrett and Kofi Kingston, Sandro oozed arrogance with every step down the ramp. The fans showered him with jeers, some even throwing their drinks in frustration. The Minnesota crowd didn't hold back, they hated the Undisputed System, and tonight, Sandro was the embodiment of that hate.
Cole's voice rose over the crowd. "Wait a minute! Are you kidding me? The United States Champion is kicking off Over The Limit?! This wasn't even announced!"
Lawler responded with disbelief, "I don't believe it either, Cole! Sandro must've pulled some strings! But whoever he's facing, they're walking into a storm. You can just feel it."
Sandro's smug grin only widened as he strutted to the ring, United States Title gleaming under the lights. At ringside, a young fan, no older than eight, held up a bright red poster that read 'Sandro Sucks! Cryme Tyme Forever!' Sandro stopped dead in his tracks, looked at the kid, and then snatched the poster out of his hands. Without hesitation, he tore it in half. The arena erupted in furious boos as the child's face fell, his eyes welling up.
And instead of remorse, Sandro laughed, loudly, right in the kid's face.
Cole's voice was sharp, angry. "Oh, come on! That's disgusting! That poor kid!"
Lawler shook his head, "That's classic Sandro, Cole. No respect for anyone or anything that doesn't serve him. That's the Undisputed System way!"
Sandro then arrogantly climbed the steel steps, wiping his boots as if the ring wasn't worthy of him, before stepping through the ropes. Barrett and Kofi followed, standing tall behind their leader, stone faced and intimidating. Once inside, Sandro lifted his championship high with one hand, his gold chain glinting under the lights as the fans continued to rain down boos.
He lowered the title and pointed toward the camera, mouthing, "No one's taking this from me."
And then—
"It's a shameful thing, lobster head!"
The crowd exploded into cheers as Sheamus's theme hit. The Celtic Warrior marched out onto the stage, pale as a ghost but glowing under the spotlight, fists clenched, eyes locked on the ring. His entrance drew thunderous cheers from the Minneapolis crowd, who immediately began chanting his name.
Cole could hardly contain his excitement. "It's SHEAMUS! The Celtic Warrior is here at Over The Limit! And he's challenging Sandro Zhang for the United States Title!"
Lawler added, "Talk about a surprise opener! This crowd's gonna come unglued, Cole!"
As Sheamus walked down the ramp, he spotted the same kid whose sign Sandro had ripped apart. The boy was still visibly upset. Sheamus paused mid walk, looked at him, and smiled warmly. Then, without hesitation, he pulled off his own 'Celtic Warrior' T-shirt and handed it to the kid.
The child's eyes lit up instantly, the sadness replaced by joy as Sheamus patted him on the head and continued his way to the ring. The crowd exploded with cheers at the gesture.
Cole was touched. "That's class right there, King! That's what being a WWE Superstar should be is all about, respecting the people!"
Lawler nodded. "And that's why the fans love Sheamus, Cole. He's a fighter, but he's got heart. Sandro could learn a thing or two from him!"
Inside the ring, Sandro rolled his eyes at the display, mouthing sarcastically, "Oh, how cute," to Barrett and Kofi. He sneered as Sheamus climbed the turnbuckle, beating his chest and letting out a war cry, the crowd roaring in approval.
Then came Justin Roberts's booming voice over the sound system. "The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the WWE United States Championship!"
The crowd cheered wildly.
"Introducing first, the challenger, from Dublin, Ireland, weighing in at 272 pounds, THE CELTIC WARRIOR, SHEAMUS!"
The fans erupted once again, chanting "LET'S GO SHEAMUS!" as Sheamus raised his fist toward them in thanks.
"And his opponent, accompanied to the ring by Wade Barrett and Kofi Kingston, representing the Undisputed System, from Orlando, Florida, weighing in at 220 pounds, he is the WWE United States Champion, SANDRO ZHANG!"
The boos were deafening. Sandro held his title high with one hand, a cruel grin spreading across his face as if he thrived off the hatred. Barrett and Kofi clapped behind him, stoic but approving, the perfect enforcers to their ruthless leader.
The referee took the title from Sandro, displayed it for Sheamus, then raised it high for the crowd. The gold glimmered under the lights, the symbol of pride, dominance, and tonight, war.
The bell rang.
DING! DING!
And just like that, the fight was on.
Sandro and Sheamus circled each other, the tension thick enough to cut with a knife. The crowd roared as they locked up in a collar and elbow tie up. Sheamus, with his size advantage, immediately pushed Sandro back into the corner. The ref called for a clean break, and Sheamus obliged, only for Sandro to slap him hard across the face.
The crowd gasped, then booed furiously.
Cole nearly shouted, "What a slap of disrespect from Sandro!"
Sheamus's expression changed instantly, from focus to fury. He lunged forward, blasting Sandro with a hard right hand, then another, backing him into the corner. The Celtic Warrior hammered away with clubbing blows, the fans counting along. "ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!"
Sandro dropped down to his knees, rolling under the ropes to escape. He regrouped outside with Barrett and Kofi, clutching his jaw, barking orders as the referee began the count.
"Come on, Sandro, get back in the ring!" Lawler called.
Sandro slid back in at a count of seven, circling again. This time, he ducked low, grabbed Sheamus's arm, and twisted it into an arm wrench, transitioning into a headlock. Sheamus powered out, shoving him to the ropes. Sandro rebounded, and got flattened by a shoulder tackle that sent him sprawling.
The fans cheered loudly as Sheamus roared. "COME ON!" he shouted, challenging Sandro to stand up.
But Sandro wasn't one to back down easily. As Sheamus approached, Sandro rolled under a clothesline and countered with a sharp dropkick to the knee, sending Sheamus crashing down. He capitalized instantly, kicking at the leg repeatedly, targeting the knee joint.
Cole commented, "Smart strategy by Sandro, trying to chop down the bigger man early."
Lawler added, "That's what makes him so dangerous, Cole. He'll do whatever it takes to win, and he doesn't care how ugly it gets."
Sandro continued the assault, wrenching Sheamus's leg against the ropes, then slamming his knee repeatedly into the mat. He locked in a single leg Boston crab, wrenching back hard as Sheamus shouted in pain.
The crowd rallied behind the Irishman with loud chants of "LET'S GO SHEAMUS!"
Sheamus clawed his way toward the ropes, straining, gritting his teeth. He finally reached out and grabbed the bottom rope! The referee forced the break.
Sandro released, but not before landing one last stomp on the leg. He raised his arms in mock celebration, taunting the crowd. Barrett clapped approvingly at ringside, while Kofi smirked.
"Come on, ref, that's blatant arrogance!" Cole shouted.
As Sandro turned back around, Sheamus exploded off the ropes with a running clothesline, nearly taking Sandro's head off. The arena erupted.
Sheamus followed up with another clothesline, then an Irish Curse backbreaker that shook the ring. He hooked the leg—
1… 2… KICKOUT!
Sandro barely escaped, rolling to the corner.
The Celtic Warrior pounded his chest, feeding off the crowd. As Sandro staggered up, Sheamus grabbed him, pulling him up onto the apron. The fans came alive, they knew what was coming.
Ten Beats of the Bodhrán.
ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! SIX! SEVEN! EIGHT! NINE! TEN!
Each thunderous forearm echoed through the arena as the crowd counted in unison. Sandro collapsed off the apron, clutching his chest in agony.
Cole was ecstatic. "This crowd's loving it! Sandro's getting exactly what he deserves!"
But Wade Barrett wasn't having it. As the referee checked on Sandro, Barrett subtly grabbed his ankle, distracting Sheamus long enough for Kofi to leap onto the apron with a cheap kick to the back of his head.
The boos were deafening.
Lawler shouted, "Come on! That's ridiculous!"
Sandro seized the moment, sliding back into the ring and hitting a running knee strike to Sheamus's temple. He hooked the leg—
1… 2… NO!
Sheamus kicked out to a massive pop.
Sandro's face twisted with frustration. He climbed onto Sheamus's chest, raining down punches, shouting, "STAY DOWN! STAY DOWN!" The referee pulled him off, warning him about closed fists.
The champion stood tall, motioning for Sheamus to rise. As Sheamus got to one knee, Sandro charged forward, but Sheamus countered, lifting him up into a rolling senton slam! The crowd went wild!
Both men lay flat, gasping for breath.
Cole yelled, "What a counter! This is turning into an absolute war!"
The referee began his count, "ONE… TWO…" Both men stirred. "THREE…" Sandro crawled toward the ropes while Sheamus pushed to his feet, clutching his ribs.
Sheamus got up first, firing up again. He whipped Sandro into the corner, hit a running knee lift, then nailed the White Noise! The arena erupted as Sheamus hooked the leg.
1… 2…
Barrett yanked the referee out of the ring!
The fans booed mercilessly as Barrett pretended to "check" on the referee, playing innocent.
Cole exploded, "He just pulled the official out! This is a damn travesty!"
Inside the ring, Sheamus tried to keep his focus, but Kofi slid in, attacking from behind with a forearm. Sheamus turned and decked Kofi with a Brogue Kick out of nowhere! The crowd exploded!
But when Sheamus turned back—
Sandro struck.
He climbed the top rope with blinding speed and leapt off, catching Sheamus with a devastating Downfall DDT from the top rope! The impact was monstrous, Sheamus crumpled to the mat motionless.
Sandro hooked the leg as the referee, regaining his bearings and with staggeringly, slid back into the ring.
1… 2… 3!
DING! DING! DING!
The boos were deafening as Sandro rolled off Sheamus, gasping but grinning devilishly. Barrett and Kofi slid back into the ring, raising his arms as the United States Title was handed back to him. Justin Roberts' voice echoed through the chaos:
"Here is your winner, and still the WWE United States Champion, SANDRO ZHANG!"
