Both involve observing the other party's reactions and adapting one's actions on the fly. However, without a clear sense of purpose, one might end up engaging in meaningless, selfish actions. Although there is a fundamental difference in objectives—'pleasing the other' versus 'killing the other'—in striving to do the best that can be achieved in coordination with the other, the two indeed share similarities.

Even the same action, when given a clear goal and resolute will, can be elevated in essence, and the actor can improve in the process.

Whether the goal is correct and whether striving for it can be deemed a good thing is another matter entirely.
