A few minutes later, the mood shifted.
Tora was sleeping in the corner clutching the wrapper of the chocolate bar she had eaten earlier. "It's getting late in the day." Nagishima stated. "You're correct, but the village is quite a distance away." Pansa stated. "We still haven't found enough food for everyone." Chisana stated dejectedly as she hugged her knees in the corner.
Nagishima noticed the solemn expressions on the girls' faces
The hooded boy looked at the basket and then the trail before having an idea. "Your problems, are taken care of. Don't you see?" Nagishima asked in a calm tone with eyes closed in contemplation.
"What do you mean? I may be missing something here." Shion asked as she looked to their male travel mate, which in turn made the others follow. "Your village needs food, right? We just so happened to have a lot of meat over there." Akamine pointed at the site of their recent battle with the Gandolf Goats. "Wait a minute! He's right." Chisana exclaimed after realizing that their issue had been taken care of for a while now.
"Why are you surprised? You live around here, don't you normally, do you hunt and eat those?" The hooded boy questioned. "We don't hunt the Gandolf. They are high in the peaks and rarely come down. On the occasions they do, these Goats are strong, fast, and extremely territorial. Not worth the broken bones." Pansa answered for her friend.
Nagishima pulled a short knife with a curved blade then got up. "I have work to do." he stated. As Nagishima was getting up he felt a tug on his sleeve. He turned to see Tora looking half asleep "Hey, you need help?" she asked. The hooded replied with "Appreciate it but you should rest." before pointing at her leg. Tora covered her face and then turned toward the wall for unknown reasons.
Akamine walked over to the goats and pulled them to the side of the trail. "I shall assist." Pansa stated as she walked over. Shion was about to get up when Nagishima stated "Hey, there's a chain attached to my bag. Can you get it?" The girl did as requested, and their male travel partner accepted the item while locating a suitable tree. Once that was done, the hooded boy hung the animal by its hind legs with the chain before getting to work.
A few hours later, all four goats were butchered and itemized (term used to describe the material extraction process). The meat was neatly organized in 7 baskets hand-made by Chisana.
The itemized materials are: Takin Pelt ×4 and Takin Horn ×8. Akamine sat on the ground, exhausted with the femme felines echoing that feeling. "Damn, that was tiring AF!" Nagishima stated in a drained. "You got that right, thank you for the assistance." Shion stated. "Now, the food problem has been solved." Chisana proclaimed happily.
The boy's expression changed. "Seriously, you girls have a decision to make. Either, leave Tora and take the meat down the mountain to the villagers and come back the next day or you can take both Tora and the meat, risk reinjuring her leg and monster attacks for that food which will attract them." Kimono kid noted.
