Third-person POV
At the nightly street festival in downtown Nagoya, Chikamasa and Wesley got off the streetcar and entered the street festival, where life, music, food, entertainment, and commerce dominated the mixed business and residential street spaces. Ren was singing a Japanese karaoke song at a karaoke room in a karaoke bar with the spirits of Sakura, Tiago, and others, and with Yu, who was drinking light beer while cheering for Ren's singing.
Chikamasa and his spirit companion walked into a French restaurant and ordered a big bowl of French onion soup and a smaller separate bowl of Beef Bourguignon for dinner. After saying "Itadakimasu", Chikamasa took his first sip of the hot onion soup. The taste hits his taste buds.
"So good!" he chirped.
"Good, wasn't it?" Wesley replied.
"Yeah, it was nice," Chikamasa responded while trying the smaller bowl of French Beef Bourguignon. "The death creature who was a chef here had made it so delicious."
"Yeah, is it?"
After paying his tab for it, the duo headed to the karaoke bar to meet up with Ren and Yu. There, it was Yu' s turn on the microphone, and Red was eating a plate of one hamburger and a side of mochi in green. "Hey, Ren!" Chikamasa chirped.
"Ah, good evening, man!" Ren laughed while adjusting his position to make room for Chikamasa to sit down.
Chikamasa then ordered a dessert bowl of banana sundae.
When that order came, Ren is now recounting his recent dream of being in Purgatory for his sins as a death creature. As Chikamasa munched on the cold banana, Ren continued, "I was there, and I trekked my way through it for next 100 years. When I finally emerged out of it and back in this world, I can see Sakura and other of my human victims alive and well, and they had been waiting for me starting after I had served my 100-year sentence."
"Wow, strange," Chikamasa commented while the spirit of Sakura tilted her head in amazement. "Did you get that from Dante's Purgatorio?"
"Yeah, I did, two nights ago, and last night, I dreamt the setting," Ren admitted while finishing his hamburger.
"Nice, sounds like I wanted to make a short poem out of it." Chikamasa chuckled.
"I'll make it like a short story, man!" Ren responded happily.
While the two Ikigami Messengers are having fun, a bus from Nagoya's airport pulled over at an intersection near a hotel. One death creature as a 15-year-old Chaos Insurgency soldier named Wolf Borys got off and looked at the exterior of the hotel. "Is this it?" he asked while looking at his smartphone.
It was the hotel he had booked a room for himself.
"Tomorrow, we will hit the shooting range in this city," he said to himself.
He was in his Chaos Insurgency soldier attire, and his blond hair and red eyes were obscured by the organization's signature gas mask.
His weapons and clothes had been stored in his big, hard, roller bag.
Taking a deep breath, he entered and checked in for the night after a long flight from Ohio, US, one of the states under the Chaos Insurgency's jurisdiction.
