Chapter 505 - Chapter 520: Notice of Conquest

The surrounding military bases near Tokyo—whether Ground Self-Defense Force, Maritime Self-Defense Force, or the U.S. forces stationed in Japan—had all, without exception, come under ninja assault.

This made the residents of Tokyo's 23 wards realize that the entire city's atmosphere had grown unnervingly tense.

If there was a base nearby, they could hear gunfire, explosions, and the blaring sirens of police cars rushing down the streets.

Even without a base nearby, people could not avoid the endless chatter, nor the flood of reports across the internet, about the latest incidents.

The most common piece of news—

Was that a new "gate" seemed to have appeared at Yokosuka Port.

But this time, the troops emerging were not in fantasy garb—they were dressed in the style of World War II!

At this point, there were still few videos online, but the photos were plentiful.

Panic spread instantly through the city.

Families began to flee together in droves.

The roads filled with unending streams of vehicles, inevitable traffic jams erupting in every direction.

The result was pure chaos—scenes of turmoil and disorder everywhere.

In such circumstances, society teetered on the edge of collapse—held together only by the desperate efforts of the Metropolitan Police Department.

Yet in Chiyoda Ward, the government grandees seemed still not to have reacted.

The entire political and military leadership of Japan remained silent!

Some tried contacting other cabinet ministers directly, but every attempt went unanswered.

Others, unwilling to accept this, went in person to Chiyoda Ward.

But their families soon discovered that their husbands, fathers, and grandfathers—

In the following days, there was no further word. All calls to them went completely unanswered.

This left the remaining lawmakers shaken, filling with unease, conjecture, and rumor.

Thus the atmosphere in Tokyo grew increasingly eerie.

The lower ranks were in chaos, while the upper echelons were deathly still.

Meanwhile—

The international community naturally took notice of Japan's plight.

After all, Tokyo was home to a great many foreign embassies.

These nations too tried reaching Japan's leadership, but again—no response.

It was under such circumstances that suddenly, on screens connected to the internet worldwide—

Whether televisions, computers, or the giant displays in city squares—

Almost simultaneously, all switched to the same broadcast!

In that instant, the entire "Nuclear World" seemed to freeze.

Governments, officials, and citizens alike all stared, eyes wide, stunned by the words now appearing line by line on screen.

[Hello everyone, I'm Kevin Mitnick. I'm delighted to say I've finally gained true freedom—because I now work for the World Government, holding a rather cool-sounding title: Minister of the Cybersecurity Department.]

[Please take careful note of the following content. It includes a basic introduction to the World Government, the purpose of their arrival in this world, and a "Notice of Conquest of Nuclear World No.0007." Though personally, I think of it more as a declaration of war against all 197 nations of the globe. Pretty cool, isn't it?]

[And by the way, a quick advertisement: my own book, The Art of Deception, which shows how nations, corporations, and every one of us are utterly vulnerable to the intrusions of social engineers—just as you're seeing now.]

...

That day.

Any country with a functioning internet infrastructure saw Kevin Mitnick's message and the subsequent Notice of World Conquest with Nuclear Weapon No.0007.

Its content was indeed shocking.

First, it confirmed that the so-called World Government truly came from another world, and likewise admitted they had entered through a "gate."

What's more, that very 'gate' had appeared inside the U.S. military base at Yokosuka Port in Japan.

Back at Yokosuka Port—

This naval base, long serving as the command center for the U.S. Seventh Fleet, had been built up impressively over the years.

Yet Shiki's forces were now remaking it, transforming it for their own habitation and use.

As a result, the base was bustling with activity.

But the most striking sight in all of Yokosuka Harbor was above.

The massive aerospace carrier floating in the sky.

Under General Shiki's command, his aviation group boasted eleven aerospace carriers, twenty transport ships, and twenty bomber ships.

At the moment, however, only one carrier remained overhead.

Around it moved countless figures, silhouettes drifting back and forth near the warship.

All of them wore blue greatcoats.

Some bore wings upon their backs, some had transformed into giant birds, while others simply walked the air with their own steps.

There were fire dragons roaring in the skies, giant eagles crying.

And farther out, modern fighter jets screamed across the heavens at high speed.

At that moment, inside the bridge command room of the flagship aerospace carrier—

Shiki, dressed in his blue greatcoat of justice, clenched a smoldering cigar between his teeth.

He gazed out the floor-to-ceiling windows at the view beyond while listening to the report of his adjutant, Budo, behind him.

"All aviation wings have already crossed Japan's borders. The first expected to reach their target will be Lieutenant General Karasu's Second Air Wing, projected to arrive over the Chinese capital at 18:00 tonight."

"Karasu, eh? That soot brat… Kyeh-heh-heh-heh, he won't let me down."

Shiki bit down on his cigar and chuckled low.

This twenty-eight-year-old Logia user was perhaps the strongest lieutenant general under his command.

"Last night at 18:42, our F-15Es shot down two suspected drones, likely launched from Okinawa."

"In addition, within Japanese territory, the Sasebo, Kure, Maizuru, Iwakuni, and Misawa naval and air bases have all dispatched large numbers of reconnaissance aircraft. The fighters under our control are intercepting them."

After hearing Budo's report, Shiki pondered a moment, then gave his orders.

"Notify the shinobi inside Japan—tell them to unleash themselves and wipe out those troublesome naval and air bases directly."

"From now on, I don't want to see any more flies buzzing around Yokosuka!"

"And you—it's about time you stretched your legs. If I recall, Sasebo is the second largest U.S. military port in Japan, isn't it?"

"Then take this aerospace carrier there. Remember—don't spare a single soldier. Hmph… except the pilots and technicians. They're still useful."

Budo frowned, puzzled, staring at Shiki's back. "And you, General?"

"Me?"

"I plan to step outside and enjoy the sea breeze. Shihahaha!"

Shiki threw back his head, his strange laughter echoing as he gazed at the sea and sky beyond the window.

...

At the same time that Lieutenant General Karasu's Second Air Wing deployed and began the suppression and conquest of China's military centers, the 3rd through 10th Air Squadrons were dispatched respectively to the United States, India, Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Africa, and the other nations of military significance.

Later, auxiliary corps units would follow, dispatched to these countries to serve as the primary forces for temporary occupation of the cities.

Ever since the World Government had issued its "Notice of Conquest," Shiki's mainline army air squadrons and 400,000 auxiliary corps soldiers had been on the move.

It was worth noting that outside of Japan itself, the hidden ninja in other nations had done little to hinder the operations of these military bases.

Because the orders they had received were to seize control of national leadership, prevent nuclear launches, and protect key scientists and critical industrial bases—

On that foundation, they were to await further instructions and act as needed.

For the World Government, as long as this war did not escalate into the widespread use of nuclear weapons, then while pursuing "conquest" it also carried the nature of a "live-combat exercise."

The high command wanted to see: how would their forces fare when encircled by modern armies?

Against the advanced weaponry of the modern world, could they resist, or even counter it?

The military strength of this "Nuclear World" was, for the mid- and low-level forces of the World Government army, the best possible opponent.

Of the six Dimensional Gate worlds encountered before, the conventional armies of five had been far too weak.

Only the Teigu World had been somewhat noteworthy—

The Imperial Fist Temple's martial arts, comparable to the Six Styles.

The mass-bred Danger Beasts of various grades.

And the Teigu and Shingu, with their diverse powers and effects.

These could trade blows with the mid- and lower-tier forces of the main army corps.

But the problem was, their numbers were far too few.

And at best, they could only barely resist, hardly posing real pressure.

But the "Nuclear World" was different.

Nuclear weapons, all kinds of aerial bombs, missiles, aircraft carriers, supersonic fighters—

Combined with powerful productivity, a complete industrial system, and a vast population base.

If the World Government did not commit its top-level forces, and did not allow ninja to infiltrate nations in advance, then relying solely on the mid- and lower-level main corps and the entire auxiliary corps, they might not actually prevail.

Especially in large-scale frontal battles—the outlook was far from promising.

Yet, of course, the World Government would never fight a war without certainty of victory.

And the current reality was that the leaders of this "Nuclear World's" great powers and superpowers had already been secretly controlled by the ninja.

Thus, the course of the coming war was firmly in the World Government's hands.
