Jackson stopped in his tracks and fell on his knees, begging Espen to let him sleep next to him. Espen smirked and walked off, leaving Espen on his knees. I got up with a soft smile and walked away from the scene to a quieter place. I went out of the gates and sat down in a secret garden that I found a couple of days ago while looking for Mark. I still can't believe that I fell for a boy like him. I sighed and lay down on the grass. I was relaxing until I heard a branch snap. I jumped up, ready for a fight, but all I saw was a big grey wolf. I started at the wolf, and it was staring back at me.
We didn´t move a muscle, just staring at each other, waiting for the other one to make a first move. The wolf licked his lips and took slow steps towards me. I took a deep breath and prepared myself for the attack, but then something happened. All of a sudden, my heart started beating faster, and I couldn´t help but blush a little when I realized how close the wolf was to me. It was right in front of me now, and I took a step back instinctively. It was watching me before, once again making a move. My wings flew open to make myself look bigger.
Well, that didn´t work; the wolf kept walking towards me. It started to growl at me the further I got away from it. I gave up and stopped moving, not wanting the wolf to get mad or jump at me. It came closer once again to me and walked slowly around me, sniffing me and watching. After a couple of minutes that felt like hours, it walked away from me and back into the dark forest. I was left there standing, confused as hell. I saw that it was getting dark, so I went back to the castle and went straight into my bedroom, locking the door behind me. I let out the breath that I was holding before relaxing against the door. I dressed myself for bed before throwing myself on my bed and falling asleep. The next morning, I was rudely woken by someone knocking on my door. I groaned before getting up and opening the door. I saw Jackson standing in front of me.
´Why did you have to bang on my door this morning?´ I asked him, a bit irritated, but he didn´t say anything, just pulled me out of my bedroom. ´Where are we going! What is happening!´ I demanded to know, but we stopped, and he pointed at a spot. I frowned and looked at where he was pointing, gasping. In front of him sat the grey wolf from the forest, its kill a dead deer. The wolf bit into the dead animal and walked up to me with it in their mouth before dropping it at my feet. I gasped and took a step back. Everyone was staring at me, and I didn´t know what to do. ´Why is there a big wolf with a dead animal here for you, Taraji?´ Said Jackson with a raised eyebrow.
´I...I don´t know....I met it yesterday in the forest, it sniffed me and walked away.´ I told them honestly, I might know why the wolf brought the dead animal for me, but I hope that I´m wrong this time. ´Bring the dead inside, at least we have rich meat on the menu,´ I said with a soft smile. The rest nodded, and the guards picked up the dear. I glanced at the wolf, who was looking at me with a soft wagging tail.
