Chapter 85 - Determing battle in the Kingdom of Legorio (5)

Under no circumstances would Light consider that the adventurer would be defeated, therefore the one who was the strongest among everyone he had ever met.

Rodic's defeat left him shaken, but that didn't discourage him.

All the surrounding soldiers were down, and the surrounding area was burning intensely. The place emitted its own light that could be seen even outside the walls.

Moments before Light took action and attacked Marco, he watched Rodic be defeated. Light was frozen.

As Light looks at Marco, who is slowly walking towards him, the boy sees two figures appearing in the distance to his right, coming out of an alley.

Coming out of the shadows like birds, Yanma and William appear to be attacking Marco from behind!

The man is cunning and slips forward.

"William!" Light is reassured that his brother is alive; it was as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.

"Light!" William smiles at his brother, celebrating.

Meanwhile, Yanma noticed Rodic's body; she didn't know how long ago he had been defeated. Yanma had also been a little calmer to see Light alive.

"Apparently there's only us left, right?" She asks as she turns towards the gate.

"Do you see anyone else around here?" Marco says as he walks away towards the fallen gate.

All around, enemies and dead soldiers are lying around. Some bodies even catch fire. In areas where the other battles ended, a few soldiers recovered from their injuries, but it was not a significant number. Yanma and William passed by some of them, but the captain of the knights preferred not to drag them into the final combat.

The three allies then join together, with Yanma in the middle, William on the left, and Light on the right.

William looks at Rodic.

"He'll be fine?" The boy asks, looking at Light.

Light doesn't know how to answer whether the adventurer will be able to stay alive after so many injuries and lost blood.

"He is strong." Yanma responds. "Certainly he won't die like this." She completes. "Do you have any strategies?" Yanma asks Light.

"None." He answers.

"It looks like you guys are scared." Marco says. "I've never seen a scene like this—two children defending an adult." He completes.

"Shut up!" William shouts.

"William, he is teasing you; don't fall for his game." Yanma scolds him.

Light watches his enemy more closely now that he is calmer. He notices that the man is extremely injured and tired.

Marco's breathing is heavy, and he struggles to stay upright after Rodic's last blow. Your leg hurts uncomfortably.

An escape attempt would be in vain, as everyone there seems to have more energy than him, and Marco knows this. All that's left is to defeat them one by one and escape before Zoe Ethy arrives.

Light then remembers the expected time that the Supreme Mage will arrive: six forty at night.

"By the way, what time is it?" The boy asks Yanma.

"Considering it's already dark, it's probably around six-thirty at night." She responds.

"That means we have to hold out for at least ten minutes..." Light whispers.

It was good news, as they had the advantage and the opponent was tired.

"What are we waiting for?!" William asks indignantly. "Let's finish him off once and for all!"

"Take your time." Yanma says. "..." She then looks at Light and seems hesitant to say something. "I didn't want to have to ask this, but can you bring up the rear?" After gaining courage, the captain says.

"No problem." Light responds with his gaze focused on Marco. "I protect you." With that decided, the three prepare for the last battle—the most important fight yet!

"William." Yanma nods his head with a sharp look, as if he is communicating without saying a word.

The three distance themselves minimally. William and Yanma step forward, while Light stays behind.

"Looks like you guys have made up your mind, huh?" Marco smiles sarcastically.

"You've already bought too much time!" Yanma responds.

A green aura surrounds William, making his movements become faster, like a wind!

Yanma and William run towards Marco, who prepares with his guard up!

Light gets close enough to use his magic but maintains a certain distance so as not to become a target.

"LET'S END THIS!" Marco screams!

Marco draws his sword and gets into a dueling position. Yanma advances and delivers a diagonal strike with his sword!

Marco dodges, going backwards and not being hit.

Then, William appears like a gale and applies multiple stabs to the man's side!

Unfortunately for the boy, his enemy defends absolutely all attack attempts, but Yanma takes this opportunity to attack again!

In a cut from top to bottom, the captain tries to cut Marco's head in two parts but is unsuccessful, as her attack is roughly defended with her sword.

The leader of the thieves doesn't even have a moment to breathe, and, carrying out yet another offensive, William moves his blade from bottom to top in a cross movement!

The child's dagger pierces, but only the clothes of his opponent, who dodges.

Yanma sees the opportunity to pierce Marco's chest with a thrust, so she tries!

However, Marco has sharp reflexes and defends himself as best he can.

Marco defends himself with his free hand, which grabs Yanma's sword. Immediately, his hand begins to bleed from the cut of the blade.

Marco watches William, preparing for a new sequence of attacks.

Just as the man was about to start taking action, he sees Light in the background, through a gap created by the purple-haired woman.

On the ground, something resembling a stone thorn rotates intensely.

Seen with no options, Marco finds himself cornered on all sides, and so he makes the decision to jump back!

At the same moment, the earth spike is fired by Light and, due to Marco's constant movement, it grazes his face, making a small cut from which blood is ejected.

Now, Marco finds himself inches outside the kingdom zone. But, at that moment, Marco realized that Light has two magics.

The roots and the stone thorn made Marco's perception of the boy change. Leaving the kingdom and having combat on natural ground would be bad, but it would be worse considering Light's two spells.

"Forest Magic and Earth Magic..." Marco says looking at Light. "You're a lot more interesting than I thought." The boy frowns as the man speaks.

Light takes small steps forward, where William and Yanma breathe after the intense action that took place.

Observing Marco, Light notices that the man's pants are being illuminated by a crimson color from behind his legs.

With his quick reasoning, he quickly deduces that it is Controlled Magic and, due to the circumstances, Marco imbues his sword with flames.

In a matter of milliseconds, Light moves his body as best he can to intercede whatever Marco is thinking.

Light and Marco act practically at the same instant, with the man launching a horizontal blast of fire at his enemies and Light creating an extremely rigid wall of earth!

The flames collide with the barrier; causing the flames to leak out the sides but not reaching them!

On normal occasions, Marco could easily destroy the wall with his cuts, but battle fatigue means he has to limit himself to using less mana; otherwise, he could faint from lack.

The earth blockage is shattered, pieces of rock are thrown everywhere, and the flames disperse in countless directions; however, Light's defense manages to nullify the flame cut!

Dusty smoke rises, and the leader of the invaders goes on the offensive!
