Chapter 77 - War in Legorio's Ghost Kingdom (5)

The soldiers take their swords out of their sheaths, staring at the gate.

Many of them have a determined look, as if they were protecting their homes from invaders. And that's what most of them think.

The environment is silent and tense; no one knows when the gate will be broken.

It is possible to hear, very faintly, the footsteps of the horses heading towards the gate. The noise of the paws is small, but it slowly increases, indicating that the enemy is approaching. The ground vibrates subtly, as if an earthquake is coming.

Some soldiers tremble with anxiety and anticipation. Rodic just calmly looks at the situation with his serious and focused look, preparing himself for anything that comes.

And then, a sound of fire begins to make the soldiers restless, it is the sound of a flame that burns very silently on the other side...

"They're going to blow up the gate!" Rodic immediately thought.

The moment these words hovered over the adventurer's mind, the gate is blown to pieces by a red and orange flame!

The enemies advance, and the conflict begins, Legorio's soldiers shout to dissipate the tension.

Rodic notices that Marco is not on the front lines like before; in fact, he can't even see him.

He then conjures a vine, which attaches itself to the top of a nearby building that has a conical-shaped roof.

Climbing onto the roof, he watches the battle scene from above. He sees all the enemies entering the kingdom as if they were desperate ants, and on the last horse that enters the kingdom, there is Marco, a strong and tall man.

Rodic immediately throws himself forward from the top of the roof, conjuring vines that come out of his hand and quickly intertwine with Marco, all while in mid-air!

Marco was unable to predict this attack. Rodic pulls his vine to the side, which makes Marco fall from the horse that was speeding.

Marco falls to the ground, rolling, but the lianas that restrain him are incinerated and reduced to ashes in a matter of seconds.

Rodic falls to the ground, remaining a few meters away from Marco. He wastes no time; the stone blocks surrounding Marco are brutally destroyed, and vines grow, grabbing Marco's legs and arms.

But that's not enough, as Marco incinerates all the plants, while his feet have their soles glowing with fire, as if he's gathering energy. At the same time, Marco puts himself in a running position

Rodic notices this strange action and jumps back, while creating several seeds shaped like a drop of water, with their sharp ends.

Marco's feet propel him forward in a burst of energy, and at the same time, Rodic fires all the seeds formed in the palm of his hand.

Marco takes out his sword and cuts all the seeds that come his way, except for one, which he grazes his cheek.

They stand at arm's length from each other; Marco raises his sword quickly, and Rodic puts the palms of both hands together. Marco brings his sword down violently; anything that was in the way would be cut!

However, two roots grow almost instantly behind Marco, grabbing his right foot before he can even realize it.

These roots pull him back and lift him up. Marco starts to burn them, but nothing happens.

The roots spin him in the air and throw him towards the wall!

Marco collides with the thick wall and falls; the impact was so strong that the wall was dented in the area of impact.

But it looks like Marco wasn't hit much, as he stands up as if he had hit a cushion. Clearly, his Embedded Magic would be something Rodic would have to deal with.

Rodic doesn't care about this fact, and he advances at great speed using his vines!

Marco reacts quickly and prepares an attack with his sword. His sword turns orange with heat, as if it had just come out of a furnace. Gathering an immense amount of heat, Marco executes a slash in the air that makes the energy that was in his sword come out like a blast of cutting fire, heading towards Rodic!

The adventurer only has time to create a tree to protect himself. The tree blocks Rodic's vision, protecting him from the cut, which collides with the tree and cuts it almost in half.

However, jumping over the already-cut tree, Marco appears, prepared to cut Rodic in half with his flaming sword. Rodic is caught by surprise and has almost insufficient reaction time to dodge the blow!

At the south gate of Legorio, William and Yanma duel against Saibur. While Yanma focuses on attacking at close range, dueling with the sword, William stays at a medium distance, launching wind cuts in the man's direction.

In a moment of courage, William gathers strength to attack from a shorter distance. He approaches with speed, even without using Wind Magic.

William then delivers a point-blank wind chop while Saibur has his back turned!

The cut tears his blue clothing and superficially cuts his skin.

Saibur turns in an almost natural blow and attacks William with the sword, which he deflects backwards. Saibur let his guard down for a moment when he turned to attack the boy, but it was enough for Yanma to try and lunge at him!

But his reflexes are good, and he manages to dodge it, cutting the side of his chest, tearing his clothes.

Saibur is destabilized when he dodges, and William does not forgive this gap and tries to attack him from behind. Saibur turns his head and eyes back, like an uncontrollable monster, and jumps away.

William and Yanma come together and stand side by side, facing the main enemy in that area.

In a short moment, they just stand there. Saibur leaves his hands relaxed, while William and Yanma keep their swords ready for any attack.

This moment is cut short when Saibur raises his free hand and conjures small drops, as if they were dozens of nails spinning insanely fast. Instinctively, the two realized that it was an attack, and went up before the man could carry it out.

But it's no use, as Saibur launches his deadly drops!

William activates his Wind Magic, which grants above-normal speed. With this, the boy manages to dodge most of the drops, but some graze his clothes, but do not cause any significant damage.

Yanma advances, but slowly, deflecting the attack using his sword. Her movements are quick and confident; not a single attack hits the violet-haired woman.

The attack stops, but that doesn't mean they can rest.

Meanwhile, William advances and tries to land a blow from below. Saibur just takes a step back and moves his sword to hit the child's neck.

When the sword's trajectory was destined to hit William, Yanma appears with a diagonal attack from top to bottom. An extremely fast and heavy attack, however, Saibur only has time to move his head back, causing the ends of his hair to be slightly cut!
