The Immortal Palace has always had the tradition of suppressing and sealing demons.
This mainly stemmed from the fact that in previous eras, the Celestial Honored Ones mostly engaged in physical training and iron-forging, with the cultivation of Qi and the Primordial Spirit still in the exploratory stage. When battling demonic deities, other than destroying their physical bodies, there were no particularly good solutions.
Most demonic deities and great demons had high defense and strong regeneration abilities; some even had resistance to specific attacks or fatal weaknesses, often necessitating a massive collective effort to forge special weapons effective for single uses to break their defense. Some were so persistent that they could recover from death, continue fighting even after being decapitated, and wage endless battles. Even after dismemberment, there was a possibility that malicious spirits could escape, wreak havoc, deceive, reincarnate, and become an incessant nuisance.
