Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: NEW WORLD, NEW LIFE

Hello, everyone, I'm Voiceless Lord, this is my 2nd fanfiction, my previous fanfiction named Adventure with Harem and System.

*****

Inside a quiet room, the sound of an alarm clock rang out. On the bed, a figure slowly opened his eyes before sitting up and resting on the edge of the mattress.

"Have I arrived in the new world?" he muttered, yawning and rubbing his eyes.

The young man, with slightly above-average looks and short black hair, stood up and made his way to the bathroom. As he walked, he removed his shirt, revealing a well-toned physique.

About half an hour later, he stepped out wearing only a pair of shorts. He headed to the wardrobe, pulled out some clothes, and got dressed—black shirt, black jeans. After putting on a pair of glasses, he went downstairs to prepare breakfast.

On the dining table, a plate of toast and a cup of coffee were neatly set. He sat down, clasped his hands together briefly, and offered a quiet prayer.

"Thanks for the food," he said before beginning to eat.

After finishing his meal and wiping his mouth with a tissue, he said, "System, show my current status."

"Yes, Host." A voice responded, audible only to him. A translucent blue screen appeared in front of him, visible only to his eyes.

"Hmm… Pretty ordinary, huh? Well, I can't really complain. I'm just grateful to be alive again," Kiseki commented as he washed his plate and cup at the sink.

"Anyway… Are there any tasks I need to complete, System?" he asked while walking to the living room. He turned on the TV and sat on the couch.

"No, Host. I exist solely to support you—by managing your status or assisting with your daily life. You have complete freedom to live as you wish. Consider this life a form of compensation from either my Creator or my predecessor, the Almighty System," the voice explained.

"Good. Then from now on, your name will be AL. Got it?" said Kiseki, giving a small grin.

"System will now respond to the name AL. Thank you for naming me, Host," replied AL. "Your current identity is that of a second-year student at Kuoh Academy. Your parents passed away and left you a sizable inheritance."

"How much is 'sizable'?" Kiseki asked, taking a sip of water while half-focused on the TV.

"Approximately 100 million USD."

Kiseki choked on his drink and quickly wiped his mouth with his hand. "Wait, what?! Say that again?"

"It is 100 million USD. Please calm down, Host. That amount is standard for those chosen by systems—especially for you, the former user of the Almighty System," AL said plainly.

"Maybe it's normal for you, AL, but in my previous life, I never saw even a fraction of that. I spent years training non-stop for missions from the Almighty System in a damn near-apocalyptic world. Back then, I only strengthened myself through sheer effort. Before my first reincarnation, I was just a part-time worker," Kiseki said with a wry smile.

Later, Kiseki asked AL more about this new world. He learned that supernatural beings—devils, angels, yokai, and even gods—existed here. AL also elaborated on his talents and how they would help him grow stronger to survive the chaos ahead.

Over the next week, Kiseki adjusted to his new life. He explored the neighborhood, met a few locals, and even got to know the Hyoudou family—who often complained about their perverted son, someone Kiseki would soon attend school with. He also met a girl named Kiryuu Aika, whose shameless personality left him speechless—especially the way she stared at his lower half without any shame.

~Flashback.

During his first week of settling into the neighborhood, Kiseki decided to take a walk and familiarize himself with his surroundings. The air was fresh, the streets peaceful, and the houses lined up neatly—a stark contrast to the chaos of his past life.

As he turned a corner near the residential block, he noticed a middle-aged couple struggling to carry several grocery bags. Without hesitation, Kiseki walked up and offered a hand.

"Need some help with those?" he asked politely.

The woman blinked, then smiled in relief. "Oh my, thank you! These bags get heavier every week."

"You're a lifesaver, young man," the man added with a chuckle.

Kiseki easily took half the load and followed them toward their home. "I just moved into the neighborhood. Name's Kanda. Kiseki Kanda."

"Ah, welcome! I'm Hyoudou Gorou, and this is my wife, Miki. We live just over there."

As they arrived at their home, Kiseki helped place the bags on the kitchen counter. Miki poured him a glass of tea as thanks.

"You seem like such a well-mannered boy," she said, offering him a seat. "Unlike our son."

Kiseki raised an eyebrow. "Your son?"

"Issei," Gorou sighed, rubbing his forehead. "He's… well, let's just say he's got a one-track mind. And that track is perversion."

Miki shook her head. "Honestly, we're worried. He's always watching weird videos, reading those... questionable magazines, and muttering about harems. A harem! Can you imagine?"

Kiseki nearly choked on his tea, coughing as he tried to suppress a laugh.

"Sorry," he said quickly, waving a hand. "It's just… I didn't expect that."

"You'll be in the same year, I believe," Gorou said, frowning. "Kuoh Academy, right? He'll be your classmate."

Kiseki stared at the couple for a moment, then sighed. "Well… guess I should brace myself."

Miki leaned forward, hopeful. "Maybe you could be a good influence on him? Help him... focus?"

Kiseki gave a noncommittal smile. "I'll do what I can."

As he left the Hyoudou household, a thought floated in his mind: If this Issei kid really is as bad as they say… this school year's going to be a ride.

---

The next day, Kanda arrived early at Kuoh Academy to complete the necessary transfer paperwork. After finishing the process, he wandered the campus to get a feel for the layout. The building had an elegant charm, and the morning breeze made it a pleasant stroll.

As he rounded a corner near the courtyard, he almost bumped into someone.

"Oh! Sorry about that—" he began, then paused as he saw the girl in front of him.

She had short light-brown hair and sharp eyes that glinted with playful mischief. Her uniform was neat, but there was something about her that radiated a chaotic, unpredictable energy. Before he could say another word, her gaze dropped low.

And stayed there.

Kiseki blinked. Wait… where is she looking—?

"Hmm…" she murmured, tilting her head. "Not bad. Real potential."

He instinctively took a step back, confused and wary. "Excuse me?"

"Don't be shy. I'm just evaluating." She smiled. "You must be the new guy. I'm Kiryuu Aika. Second-year. Welcome to Kuoh Academy, where perverts reign and virgins cry."

Kiseki felt a drop of cold sweat slide down his back. "Uh… nice to meet you?"

"Nice indeed," she said, still not looking him in the eye.

He coughed awkwardly. "Do you always greet people like this?"

She shrugged. "Only the interesting ones."

Kiseki sighed. So this is the infamous Kiryuu Aika… I was not ready for this.

Her grin widened. "You're cute when you're flustered. I can't wait to see you in class."

As she sauntered away, Kiseki stood rooted to the spot, eyes blank, mind dazed.

"…I feel like I just got strip-searched by a look," he muttered.

"Host," AL's voice chimed in dryly, "Your heart rate has increased. Do you require medical assistance?"

"No, AL," Kiseki groaned, rubbing his temples. "I require a memory wipe."

---

Later that day, Kiseki sat on a bench under a tree, reflecting on everything he had encountered so far.

"A perverted classmate and a shameless girl with predator eyes," he mused. "This world may look peaceful, but it's just as strange as the last."

Yet despite the oddity—and perhaps because of it—Kiseki smiled.

"This might actually be… fun."

~End of flashback.

Monday, One Week Later

The morning sun bathed the streets of Kuoh in a warm glow as Kiseki Kanda stepped out of his house, wearing the Kuoh Academy uniform—a sharp black blazer lined with white accents over a striped, white button-down shirt, topped with a neatly tied black ribbon. He adjusted his glasses, then locked the door behind him with a soft click. After ensuring everything was secure, he began his leisurely walk toward the two figures waiting for him down the street.

"You're late, Kiseki," Issei Hyoudou complained with a scowl, his brown hair slightly tousled from the morning rush. "I can't believe I'm actually waiting for a guy to go to school. It's my second year—shouldn't I be walking with a cute girl by now? My luck's a joke."

"You're already lucky someone even agreed to walk with you," remarked Aika Kiryuu, adjusting her glasses with a sigh. Her braided hair bounced slightly as she turned to face him, a deadpan look on her face. "If you expect a girl to willingly be seen with you, you might want to update your delusions."

"Oi! I'm not that bad," Issei protested, crossing his arms. "Come on, I've got some charm, right? I mean, look at Kiseki—if he can do it, I can too!"

Aika turned to Kiseki with a raised brow. "Kiseki is decent-looking and quiet. You, on the other hand, start drooling every time a skirt walks past."

"That's—! Hey!" Issei flailed his arms. "Don't just say it like that! I'm misunderstood!"

Aika held up two fingers an inch apart. "This is how wide the gap is between your dream and reality, Issei."

Kiseki chuckled softly as he approached the two. "Morning, you two. It's always fun listening to your banter."

"Banter? More like a verbal cage match," Issei muttered, glaring at Aika. "And she always wins."

Aika smirked. "Naturally. Intelligence always trumps hormones."

"Geez, you two sound like an old married couple," Kiseki remarked as he adjusted his bag strap. "Bickering like this every morning... makes it feel like we've known each other for years."

Both Aika and Issei immediately recoiled.

"Gross. Don't lump me together with this pervert," Aika said with visible distaste.

"Hell no! I have standards!" Issei shouted, pointing dramatically at Aika.

Kiseki sighed, smiling. "Right, right. Let's get moving or we'll be late. The teachers might group me with you two just out of pity."

Without another word, he took the lead. Aika followed beside him with a smug smirk, while Issei trailed behind, grumbling about being misunderstood.

---

Thirty minutes later, the trio reached Kuoh Academy. Its grand Western-style architecture loomed before them—pristine white walls, towering gates, and an air of nobility.

Kiseki let out a low whistle. "This place looks more like a castle than a school. Is there a dress code for peasants?"

"There might as well be," Aika muttered. "Some of the students here act like royalty too."

Groups of students were gathering at the entrance, many chatting in excitement as the new school term started. Among the crowd, Kiseki's eyes were drawn to two girls walking with grace and authority—one with a neat, black bob cut, and another with flowing, long black hair and a calm expression.

"Hey," Kiseki asked, nudging Aika slightly, "who are those two?"

Aika looked in their direction and adjusted her glasses. "Ah, that's Sona Shitori—Student Council President. And the tall one behind her is Tsubaki Shinra, the Vice President."

"They're part of the holy trinity," Issei added with a dreamy sigh.

"Holy trinity?" Kiseki blinked.

"Yup," Issei nodded. "Sona Shitori, Akeno Himejima, and Rias Gremory. The three goddesses of Kuoh Academy."

"He calls them that," Aika cut in dryly. "To the rest of us, they're just respected upperclassmen. Though, I won't lie—Sona-senpai does have this... cool beauty vibe."

Kiseki hummed thoughtfully. "They do stand out. The way they carry themselves… different from regular students."

Issei leaned closer and whispered, "You should see them during sports festivals. They could just be standing there, and the entire crowd's cheering."

"Sounds excessive," Kiseki replied, rolling his eyes. "Also sounds exhausting."

"Jealous?" Issei teased.

Kiseki smirked. "Nah. I prefer peace and quiet."

"You say that now," Aika said with a sly grin. "Wait until girls start eyeing you because of your mysterious aura. You'll be drowning in attention."

Kiseki chuckled and massaged his temple. "Please don't jinx me. Issei's the one who needs the attention."

"Thank you, finally someone gets it—wait, hey!" Issei shouted as realization hit. "Was that an insult?!"

Before Kiseki could answer, Issei puffed up his chest and declared, "I swear on my manhood, I'll bring a girlfriend to school someday! Just wait, Aika!"

Aika tilted her head, unimpressed. "I give her three days before she regrets every decision that led her to you."

"Ugh! You two are the worst!" Issei wailed.

Kiseki and Aika picked up their pace, leaving Issei scrambling to catch up—drawing more confused looks from the students entering the gate.

---

Unbeknownst to them, Sona Shitori was still standing near the gate, her sharp eyes watching the trio.

"Tsubaki," she said softly.

"Yes, President?" the long-haired vice president replied.

"Do you feel that?"

Tsubaki narrowed her eyes. "Three distinct auras… The brown-haired boy is unusually strong for a human. The girl is... spirited but ordinary."

"But the black-haired one," Sona interrupted, her eyes glinting briefly behind her glasses, "his aura is subtle, quiet… but unsettling. It feels suppressed, like it's hiding something dangerous."

"Should we investigate further?" Tsubaki asked.

Sona nodded slowly. "Discreetly. Focus on him and the girl. There's something interesting about that group."

"And the brown-haired one?"

"Leave him be. Rias already has her eyes on him. No need to overlap. We'll owe her one."

"Understood, President."

The two turned and walked away, but Sona glanced back once more, her gaze lingering on the back of Kiseki Kanda.
